Spotlight: Kelly Gay + giveaway (open INT)

Alright dearlings we're nearing the end of Authors for the Holidays but we've still got a couple more awesome authors for yall to meet and today that's Kelly Gay (who also writes Adult &YA books as Kelly Keaton)!

Kelly writes the Charlie Madigan series which is Urban Fantasy and set in Atlanta. Personally I think it's pretty damn awesome :) So check out those books and the sweet giveaway of a SIGNED copy of The Better Part of Darkness!

Okay and aren't these covers fantastic? I love the gritty badass look of them. Really I just love a badass heroine in general and that she's written by one of our NC authors. Damn I've gotten really lucky with my state and having so many freaking talented authors right here. LOL

~~*~~*~~

"Thirteen years ago, scientists discovered two parallel planes of existence, hellish Charbydon and heaven-like Elysia. The beings in these worlds inspired our myths of angels, demons, gods, and monsters.

They’d been visiting us for thousands of years, using our world as a battle ground and neutral zone, interfering in our lives, speaking our languages, doing good works and miracles, and committing horrible crimes. And now we know the truth. Elysia and Charbydon, and the beings in them, aren’t the things of Sunday school lessons and Hallmark figurines. And since the discovery, they’ve integrated into our society, working among us, becoming law-abiding or lawbreaking citizens.

Atlanta is home to the largest off-world sector in the country. Underground has expanded and is now home to a dense population from Elysia and Charbydon.

And it's Charlie Madigan's job to keep the peace..."

Check out the series...

I'm just your average bookworm who likes to spend an embarrassing amount of time in make-believe places.

I've had many jobs from construction (I can drive a backhoe, tar and shingle a roof, and frame out a house) to waiting on tables, threading film through a projector, managing horse farms, and selling men's underwear (a talent, I tell you!).

In the writing world, I'm a 2010 double RITA finalist, a three-time RWA Golden Heart finalist, and a recipient of an NC Arts Council Fellowship grant in Literature.

We've got a SIGNED copy of The Better Part of Darkness for yall today! Yay!

Have yall read the Charlie Madigan series? Love Urban Fantasy?
What do you think about the world Kelly created? Interested?

    1. Oh yay! Glad you liked it :) Isn't it funny how certain characters catch our attention? I've got a few series like that where the sidekick or a real secondary character just grabs me and I want more of em :)

    1. I kind of dabble in it. It's not my main one by any means but they're always really interesting. A lot lighter on the romance aspects but usually they have at least a little bit of that too or a platonic partner they work with so you get another sort of building relationship which I like too :)

  13. Love this series. I love how tough Charlie is, yet her daughter shows us her softer sides. Her relationships with Rex, Hank and her sister really make her well rounded character and not just some 2 dimensional fighter, battling it out every day with the bad guys. I was lucky enough to discover Charlie when the first book came out. My only complaint? The next ones don't come out fast enough! *g*
