Ahhh so CJ Ellisson. Have yall met her? She's pretty awesome and, well, you just never know what she's gonna drag you into a, um, adult toy shop during a book convention. ::snort:: She writes all kinds of goodness. Vamps, contemporaries, really just smexed up books. And they're so damn good. Anywho. She's here today to chat about her newest release that's part of the Paranormal Nights box set. It was a damn fun novella. Check it out and leave her some love! Oh! And yall know how stingy I am on giving out 5 stars? Yeah, she got TWO of them! The woman is GOOD!

Morning CJ!! Come on in! It's so nice to see you again. I kinda went into a cooking frenzy this morning so there's veggie quiche and hash brown casserole and some cinnamon roll waffles so there's all kinds of goodies to nosh on while we chat about your newest book.
Sounds great, thank you! You are always the hostess with the mostess, Anna—and it’s so nice to see you, too! Thank you for having me on your blog today.

Always fun to have you on CJ! Alright if you had 15 seconds to talk up Death Times Two how would you hook someone well and good?
I’d encourage new readers who like humor, sexual tension, and adventure in their paranormal stories to pick up our very first co-authored book! This novella combines reapers, ghosts, and vampires in a unique tale that will have you grinning one moment and squirming in your seat the next. And yes, in case some of the V V Inn fans were worried, it also contains at least one toe-curling sex scene.
LOL and it was a verra nice one. lol Can you tell us 3 fun behind the scenes facts about Death Times Two (or the VVInn series)?
  • Boone and I plotted this book back in July of 2012 in an unopened hotel restaurant, which we then stayed at for a meal—and we recorded our brainstorming session. I’d like to eventually get the audio file up on our respective websites to share with readers.
  • Due to our writing schedules, we didn’t have time to sit down and write our brainchild until this fall. The entire book was written and professionally edited in under a month.
  • We wrote the entire book in tandem from our outline. I’d write Asa’s chapters and she’d write Lisa’s, then we’d swap, write, and edit.
That's just so neat. Alright, and going with that...Death Times Two was a little different (and I loved it) since you wrote it with Boone Brux (who is also pretty damn awesome) and combined your two series. How in the world did that work out? And even more important...will there be more?!!
We had an absolute BLAST writing this book together. Both of us agreed it was the fastest piece we’ve done ever, and the energy we created working together on a project really encouraged us to write the next chapters faster and faster.
We encountered none of the ordinary hiccups authors may hit while writing, probably because we’d been talking about this darn project for over a year! I was extremely touched when Boone told me she’d learned more writing with me on this novella than she had in a long time.
As writers, we’re constantly striving to improve our craft. And to hear I’d just been my regular old self and it helped her in her craft was the nicest thing I’d heard in a while. Each of us approaches the task of writing differently, but on this novella we both had to grow and adjust to the demands of the project.
Doing so kept us on track and focused. We had such a good time that we’re discussing doing an entire series together. Something completely separate from what we’re both working on now. The real issue will be finding the time! But we’ll get there, I swear!
Oooo that would be amazing! Now, before you get me all side tracked with potential awesomeness in the future, what was your favorite 'omg these two are effing awesome' moment in Death Times Two?
For me it was the scene when Bebe tries to possess Lisa through “alternate” means. ;-) If I’m recalling right, it wasn’t spelled out that way in the initial outline, but came to us over the phone while we were talking about the next parts of the manuscript. Once we conceived it I couldn’t wait to write it!
Okay, yeah, that was a hoot of a scene, a couple silly ones real quick...

Fruitcake stance...friend or foe?
Hmm… In all honesty, it’s been years since I’ve tried one. As long as it was moist and gluten free I’d be game to give it shot!
Oddest thing you've Google searched in the name of book research?
Wow. I have no idea. I search for various “odd” things daily. Like sexual positions (there’s a website that automates computer dummies in their underwear so you can “try” a new position). Most recently I’ve searched for inexpensive and fun “novelty” items on manufacturer sites in China—let me tell you, once you start shopping for glow in the dark “willy” straws you get a whole bunch of odd stuff coming up!
Strangest thing in your purse (or room) right now?

A bin full of finger vibes and lube. Yup, you read that right. They are prizes for the Wild Side book coming out next month.  *::snort:: likely story, CJ, likely story*
It's not Christmas until...?
All the shopping is done, all the gifts are wrapped, and the meals are all planned. Once the stress is gone and I can relax, I’m good to go.
Favorite Man Candy? And pics are very welcome :)
How sad is it that I have too many? So many good-looking men out there, and so little time to stare at them all! I recently stumbled on and I spend way too much time staring at the man meat they have posted (and I do truly mean “meat” so don’t view the eye candy pics unless you are alone)
::blink, blink:: Well, hello there! Goodness! That'll warm Christmas right on up! Thanks so much for dropping by C.J.! Can't wait to see what you come up with next. Hope y’all have a great Christmas and New Year!
Thank you for having me, Anna! Wishing you a great holiday season, too!

I'll admit. I was pretty damn excited about Death Times Two. Not only is it set in one of my favorite worlds (the VV Inn series) but it's written by two of my favorite authors--CJ Ellisson and Boone Brux. Total reader girl squee! And the ladies rocked it. They did an excellent job combining elements from their individual, ongoing series and creating a fun, silly and sexy paranormal romp as Asa and Lisa (who is a reaper of sorts) go about ridding The VV Inn of it's ghostly--and difficult-- inhabitants.

The two were a lot of fun together and just clicked nicely. I loved watching them together and when things finally do get steamy it was real nice *nods*. It's a one sitting read and was just entertaining. I chuckled quite a bit, had a couple omg's and yeah a girly sigh may have escaped too. It's easy to read as a stand alone and there are enough cues that even if you haven't read the series you'll have no problems figuring things out.
