So this week's pick is The Wedding Favor. I loved this book. It was so fun and one of those enemies to lovers storylines. So much snarky awesomeness but also some incredibly touching and heartbreaking ones as well. And steamy! It really had a bit of it all. Anyways. This is from fairly early on in the book--they're having to play nice at a wedding they're both attending-- and the two are having a moment. They really love pushing each others buttons.

Annnnd as a bonus today! Cara's giving away 2 SIGNED print copies of The Wedding Favor! Woot! So, check out this week's quote and leave your own favorite quote to enter :)

Wild Wolf (Shifters Unbound #6) by Jennifer Ashley

Graham McNeil knows that his pack is unruly, but he’s not sure he can take the next step toward pack stability. After losing his first mate long ago, Graham has worked hard to keep his heart in check. Besides, even if he was inclined to choose a new mate, his girlfriend, Misty, is human—a fact that won’t sit well with Graham’s old-fashioned pack.

But Misty is going through a crisis of her own, one that brings danger and death to the pack. With the wolves doubly convinced that there needs to be a shake-up, Graham must now defend his leadership and save the woman he has grown to love—before Shiftertown is pulled into an all-out war.

*Stops to pet the pretty, pretty cover.* Gah. I love this series. Ashley is one of my favorites when it comes to sexy and intriguing paranormal romances. And Graham and Misty's story totally rocked my Shifter loving world. From the action and danger surrounding the Shifter community to the incredible bite-your-lip romance I was ALL in as these two fought to save the people they love most.

And I thought it might be fun to start putting those random and wonderfully weird things people think just scream...me. This one won't always be, erm, family friendly. Heh.

Ahhh Shelly Laurenston. The woman knows how to write a killer shifter romance that's non-stop fun, totally crazy and absolutely entertaining. I had such a good time Livy and Vic. The 2014 A to Z Challenge!

Herding Cats vs The A to Z Challenge!
This is my third year joining in on blogging the Alphabet in April!

2014 Theme: "Gasp, Sigh, Gigglesnort with a side of Yum"

For yall new to the blog... each April a group of bloggers blog the Alphabet.

Interview w/ Meg Benjamin--food, man candy and a gigglesnort!

Sous chef Darcy Cunningham is less than entranced with small-town Konigsburg’s obsession with barbecue. But her future career as a chef de cuisine requires expanding her culinary horizons, so she talks the Barbecue King, a.k.a. Harris Temple, into taking her on as his apprentice.

However, learning Harris’s professional secrets wasn’t supposed to include falling for his spicy blend of smoky sexiness and laid-back charm.

Chico Burnside specializes in flying under Konigsburg’s small-town radar, but lately life has been going a little too smoothly, even for him. Hoping to shake things up a bit, he talks Harris into teaming up for Konigsburg’s first barbecue cook-off. But once shy scientist Andy Wells catches his eye, Chico’s got more on his mind than brisket. Like enticing her out of her shell to show her just how tenderly a big guy can love.

As the competition ignites, so does the romance. Until a natural disaster threatens to derail Konigsburg’s dream team before the grills even get good and warmed up.

Morning Meg! Welcome to herding cats! Since it's a bit chilly hear still I thought we'd settle down with some hot tea or a mug of Nutella hot chocolate and some fresh muffins. So com on back to the kitchen and we'll chat in there...

Alright, if you were running out of the grocery store had only 10 seconds to hook someone what would you tell them about Darcy, Harris and their story?
Well, first of all it’s Darcy, Harris, Andy and Chico—two couples, no waiting! And the thing that brings them all together is barbecue, which is almost a religion in Texas. The couples aren’t people you’d expect to end up with each other (Darcy’s a big-time sous chef and Harris has his own backwoods barbecue business; Chico is a bouncer with hidden talents and Andy’s a shy scientist), but the lure of cooking ‘cue is hard to resist.

Guest Post w/ Jessie Donovan-- Making the Impossible Possible...

To avoid persecution, the Feiru will do anything to keep their elemental magic a secret from humans—even lock away their children for life. Few know about the experiments going on inside the prison system for magic users, but that is about to change…

Kiarra Melini overhears the dangerous secrets of her blood and decides that if Feiru elemental magic is to survive, she needs to die. But before she can finish the deed, a handsome black-clad man kidnaps her from prison and introduces her to an anti-prison activist group. As the prison retrieval squad hunts for her, Kiarra must overcome the demons of her past or risk losing not only her newfound freedom, but also the man who reawakens her desires and captures her heart.

Jaxton Ward finally rescues his older brother from prison, but instead of helping with his brother’s recovery, he’s ordered to train Kiarra—a stubborn elemental fire user who claims her magic is gone. But just as Kiarra starts trusting him with her secrets, the prison enforcers catch up with them. Now Jaxton must find a way to keep his family safe while also protecting the only woman able to ignite both his temper and his passion.

Making the Impossible Possible

A sheltered abuse victim and a pushy, dominant male.
A strong-willed female soldier and a charming womanizer.
A female undercover agent and a man burned by lies.

At first glance, those couples seem like they’d never, in a million years, be perfect for each other. But if there’s one thing I like doing, it’s making the seemingly impossible work out in the end.

Interview w/ Katie Lane & Review--A Match Made in Texas

"A Match Made in Texas was just a fun quirky read that had me smiling, laughing and completely enjoying myself as I got lost in the wonderful world Lane brought to life." ~herding cats & burning soup
Living with four over-protective brothers is enough to make a good girl go bad. But the day Brianne Cates hits the road for a taste of freedom, she gets more trouble than she bargained for when she's arrested by a sexy sheriff in mirrored shades. Now doing a stint of community service, she's not going to let a cowboy cop like Dusty Hicks mess with her newfound independence-even if he awakens every wicked fantasy she's ever had.

In Bramble, Texas, Dusty is the law. That means no leniency for the gorgeous rebel whose highway antics almost got them both killed. The divorced lawman doesn't need another rich, pampered princess, even if Brianne has the lushest body and sweetest smile in the whole darn state. But even as Brianne proves that she lives to walk on the wild side, Dusty begins to wonder if maybe he has what it takes to tame her.

Trust Me (Regency Risks #2) by Natasha Blackthorne

"Blackthorne wowed me once again with a sensual and erotic historical romance that gripped my heart and had me falling even more for Jon and Anne as they fought to keep their happily ever after..." ~herding cats & burning soup
Is she insane?

All of Mayfair is whispering the question.

Anne Lloyd, the new Countess of Ruel, thought she'd finally begun to heal from having witnessed the terrible death of her first husband. But, from her new husband's grandmother to his ex-mistresses, it is all that is on everyone's lips. What scares her more than the potential social ruin is that even she isn't sure they aren't right.

Jonathon Lloyd, the Earl of Ruel, has commanded men on the battlefield and women in the ballrooms and bedchambers with his dominant personality. It tears him apart that he can't command his wife's terrors to go away. To top it off, he has to battle his grandmother, for Anne's acceptance as the new Countess. There are times when it seems that the bloody battlefields of Europe were easier to navigate than the so-called civilized graces of Society.

There are those who will stop at nothing to tear apart the fragile bond between the newlyweds. Can Lady and Lord Ruel learn to trust each enough to keep their love, and her sanity, intact?

Mini Reviews-- [Down and Dirty by Christine Bell] & [Baking Love by Lauren Boyd]

Down and Dirty (Dare Me #2)
Cat Thomas has never been the kind of girl to stick. A self-professed infatuation junky, she latches on the newest, hottest guy on the block, then finds a reason—real or imagined—to dump him. When she accepts a dare to rekindle her high school flame and jump in bed with her brother’s best friend, Shane Decker, she knows she’s in trouble. She can’t resist the man, even after all these years apart, and that just won’t do.

Shane has come back to town for a couple reasons. The biggest one? He’s tired of living away from those he loves, including Cat. But now she’s spooked and will do anything to drive a wedge between them, including trying to fix him up with other women through an online dating service.

What does he have to do to make her see that settling down doesn’t mean settling, and he’s ready to spend a lifetime proving it?

Type: Contemporary Romance
Heat: 3 out of 5
Rating: 3 out of 5

Amazon | All RomanceGoodreads
I love Bell's writing and storytelling. She's really got a gift and damn she'll make you squirm too. She can write a steamy and erotic love scene like you wouldn't believe and really get you caught up in the story. So, after book one in the series I was really damn excited about Down and Dirty. And it did have some down and dirty happening and one make-your-eyes-roll-back-in-your-head hero which is always a good time but it had some troubles too.

The quick of it is that Shane and Cat have a bit of a past and grew up together and all these years later they're getting a chance for a fling and, well, a bit more if Shane can get through to Cat.

Now they're dead set on silencing Michelle, who might know the secret behind the killing of one of their wives. Dodging a world-class hit man and a band of cunning criminals, Michelle and Theo walk a narrow path between passion and survival.

Type: Romantic Suspense/Mystery
Rating: 4 out of 5

So my first time reading Julie Garwood...was a hit. I really enjoyed Mercy. Loved the characters and got lost in their romance (even though it's not hot and heavy) and the mystery they fight to keep Michelle out of the clutches of a group of murderers. It was a quick read because I just couldn't put it down :)

Nauti Intentions (Nauti #4) by Lora Leigh

Since he saw Janey Mackay taking a dip in her bikini, Major Alex Jansen has had to quell the fire she ignites in him. Even touching her would mean death at the hands of the Mackay men. Until now, the girl of his dreams-and fantasies-has lived in a vacuum of affection, shying away from the danger she thinks men represent. Alex sets out to prove her wrong, with his torturously slow caresses.

Everyone thinks Janey's safe now, with her abusers dead. But when someone starts leaving spine chilling notes, Alex won't rest until she's completely safe. And completely his-body and soul...

Type: Erotic Romance
Heat: 4 out of 5
Rating: 4 out of 5

Amazon | All Romance | Book Depository | BAMGoodreads

So, I pretty much loved this book. Everything about it. From the older hero and the younger heroine--Alex is 37 and Janey 23--to the steamy goodness that heats up between them to the meddling family that surrounds them. Add in a bit of danger as Janey's life is threatened and I was all in.

Oh yes. I enjoyed the hell out of my first Roni Loren read. Lordy. Need You Tonight was steamy, sexy, fun and just a gloriously naughty and entertaining read.

The quick of it is that Tessa and Kade knew each other years ago when they were struggling to survive their teen years. It's been ages since their young friendship was torn apart and now all these years later they're back in each others lives and things are getting down, dirty and flat out kinky as hell as they mend fences and get to know each other once again. ::shivers::

Alyssa Day's Warriors of Poseidon series grows on me more and more with each book as these ancient Warriors continue their mission of protecting the human race from all the things that go bump in the night and working towards bringing the city Atlantis into the modern day world. I really do love these Warriors. I mean, really. It's a group of huge, sexy, fierce men who just make you want to lick them. How could that possibly be a bad thing? Hm? Exactly. lol
