Interview w/ Leah Braemel--sexy cowboys, cracker candy and, erm, muff dye? O.o

Jake Grady loves Bull's Hollow ranch and all the challenges and hard work it entails. But the past year hasn't been easy—his father's good name has been tarnished, and new financial problems are threatening to destroy everything the Gradys have built. Performing live under a stage name has become his escape, a way of blowing off some serious steam.

Accountant Paige Reynolds found Jake's guitar-playing alter ego intriguing, but her connection with the real Jake sends her attraction into overdrive. When she's summoned to make order out of the chaotic paper trail at Bull's Hollow, he sets her world a-rocking—both in bed and out. But Paige has a plan; she's determined to create her own path for the future, but is soon left scrambling for firmer ground.

Good news about Jake's potential singing career is followed by the revelation of another family secret, one that has him questioning whether he belongs at Bull's Hollow at all. But leaving the ranch would mean leaving his family…and Paige. How much is he willing to give up for a real shot at fame?

*waves madly* Heeeelllllllooooo way up there in Canada! Mornin' to ya Leah. How goes it? I'm so ready to hear some scoop on No Accounting for Cowboys. I totally have a thing for cowboys. lol
Mornin’, Anna. Forgive me if I have a slight hint of southern to my Canuck accent today—I’m still recovering from a two day drive back from New Orleans. But I’m happy to talk about my Jake and his No Accounting for Cowboys.
LOL you gonna start popping out with some yalls? Eh? Heh. Alright. So, say one seriously fine cowboy has just walked by---and girl we're totally chasing after him--but you wanted to hook the people we're chatting with right quick before that fine ass cowboy is out of sight...what would you tell them to them about Paige and Jake's story?
It’s about a cowboy who has kept secrets and is learning more that have been kept from him all his life, secrets that are tearing his world apart. Until one confident woman walks into his life and sets his spinning world in order.
Oh so fun to watch that happen :) Can you tell us 3 fun/sexy behind the scenes facts about Jake and Paige?

  • Paige has an inner geek to her—with a tattoo in a specific spot that requires a password. It’s my inner Lord of the Rings geek coming out. But I changed up the password—just to fool with other LOTR geeks and because I think Paige is playful that way. ;)

  • Jake likes how Paige has dyed the tips of her hair candy-cotton pink. He is surprised (pleasantly) when he discovers the collars match the cuffs. (I discovered there really is a muff dye)

  • At one point Jake acts like a jerk and Paige changes the ringtone on her phone to alert her when he’s calling. My street team leader, Tabatha, suggested Fred August Campbell’s Asshole song.  I have downloaded that onto my phone now (but haven’t felt the need to assign it to anyone. Yet.)

Bwaha. Nice. So when he wasn't being an ass what was your hands down favorite moment with Jake that had you all aswoon and sighing in girly bliss or gigglesnorting?
When Jake discovers Paige’s extra dye job, I was definitely gigglesnorting. But it’s hot too and best of all, it shows how good they are together.
Moonlight came through the window in the room behind her, edging her in a silvery halo.

God, she was beautiful, her hair all wild, her lips swollen from his kisses. She opened her eyes, the passion in them flooring him. This was no quickie to her either. No scratching of an itch. The ground shifted like they were in the middle of an earthquake, then he realized it hadn’t moved. He’d changed, or she had changed him. Oh boy, he’d better be careful or he could get in over his head. Keep it light.

He tugged on the long strand of hair trailing over his chest. “You sure you haven’t ever ridden a horse? Because you’re quite the cowgirl.”

“From the way you were bucking, I’m pretty sure I’d qualify for the rodeo.” She licked his nipple and blew. “Especially since you lasted way longer than eight seconds.”

“You know we’d be more comfortable in the bedroom.”

“Would have killed the spontaneity.” Lifting her hips she withdrew from him, his balls seizing as the cool air engulfed his softening dick. She reached up and flicked on the light switch.

He blinked and not just because of the blinding light overhead. Was that really…she’d dyed her landing strip to match the tips of her hair in a festive cotton candy pink. The laugh started in his chest and boiled over until he rolled on his side and held his belly.

Paige poked him in an aching rib. “Hey, laughing isn’t sexy.”

“I’m sorry. I didn’t expect you to be dyed…there.”

“A girl’s gotta accessorize—when I found the dye online I figured what the hell. I mean, you know what they say about the collar needing to match the cuffs.”

“I’ve always heard that it was the carpet matching the drapes.” If this woman could make him laugh, he was going to be in serious trouble. Although he suspected he was already knee deep in the relationship quagmire and sinking fast.
OMG that is too funny. What a surprise! Paige sounds like a hoot. If you had a day to spend with Paige doing...well, pretty much anything yall wanted what would you two get up to?
I’d want her to take me over to Slick’s Swamp Box (a local rib joint) on the back of her bike. I get the feeling that girl could party hearty—and if Slick was there too, man that would be fun. And she might even be able to convince me to try a box of Fun Betty myself. ;)
Sounds fun! Alright before you head on out how about a few quickies...
Favorite Man Candy?
Oh I love Michael Stokes’ Photography on Tumblr for some very lovely man candy.

Weirdest thing in your purse right now?
A box of earplugs – I bought them so I could offer them to my RT conference roommates in case I snore. Or in case they snore I can use them. ;)
I'm completely obsessed with...
An app/game called 2048. I’ve finally beaten it, but now I want to do it again to prove it wasn’t a fluke. *lol not even gonna look Candy Crush at this point owns my e-soul*
Favorite book cover color?
I love the golden browns on my Tangled Past cover. It’s so warm and inviting.
Best food ever?
Normally I’d say a good roast beef, or cheese cake, but at Christmas time I tried making Cracker Candy and I actually moaned aloud in pleasure when I tried the results. Sooo good. (and so easy to make)
OMG yeah so freaking good! Might have maybe made that and devoured it a few times here. lol So, what's up next for ya after No Accounting for Cowboys?
I’m working on Gabe’s story, Wrangling the Past, which is the final book in the Grady Legacy.
Nice. Thanks so much for dropping in Leah! I'm totally gonna go pet the pretty pretty cowboy cover now. Yums! Happy writing! Alright yall feel free to leave Leah some love and pretty comments to go with her pretty cowboy *nods*
