Sooo. I cooked for this Tasty Delights...but not really a recipe this time. More a chat. We're going a bit...randomly random and easily distracted for this one I guess. lol
See. I'm trying to be good. *flails* I really am. I'm on day 6 of using My Fitness Pal to track calories and exercise. Meh. I so don't love doing that but hopefully it's helping. (update! ahhh it is, it is! I did my weigh in this AM and down 2.5 pounds. Not bad!) It's surprising to see calorie count on some things. Anyways. It's got me playing in the kitchen and trying healthier meals. Like...
Couscous and all kinds of yummy veggies. Not bad at all. It made a ton with large serving size and calorie estimate (lordy it's hard to tell sometimes) is around 330 calories with butter (yes I love my butter), couscous, veggies and a little sauce. And it was pretty tasty. I'll be playing around more with this I think (using less couscous next time).
Anyways. I know a lot of others are trying to get healthier or would like to so thought it would be nice to do a tips/tricks and favorite recipes kinda post. So...share yours! Either a favorite go-to healthy recipe, or something you do to keep your kitchen healthier or your successes or struggles. Really anything you'd like to add. Nice to have support and all that, right?
Tasty Delights will still happen--and pick up again in June (May is just too busy to do full posts right now)--and be a variety of foods like always. I'm still eating "naughty" foods and will ALWAYS do that. But moderation is key and something I'm trying to remember. So cookies will happen but maybe only one or two...not four. lol Paying attention to those serving sizes I'm hoping will really help me along.
