#AFTH2014--Interview w/ M Leighton--s'mores, cookie cups & getting a little wild! + giveaway

Hiya guys! M. Leighton is joining us today! Michelle writes all kinds of goodness but I've read her NewAdult series The Wild Ones and just had a blast with those so we're chatting them today :) So come on have a Christmasy drink with us and then ply Michelle with some hardcore comment love. <3  ~Anna

Hey Michelle! Welcome to the herd! I'm testing out holiday drinks so come on back and we can sample while we visit.
Hi, Anna!  I LOVE holiday drinks (well, any drinks, really), so I'm game:)
*settles down next to a funky collection of drinks--Nutella hot chocolate, hot toddies, eggnog, winter spice tea, apple cider...--and gets comfy* I know, I know, it's weird but Christmas prep and all that. Mini chocolate chip cookie cup with milk? *smiles brightly*
That sounds delicious!  I think I will, thank you!
So's *rubs hands together* I thought we'd chat a little about The Wild Ones series of yours. Oh man I love these guys! For anyone who hasn't met them yet what would be your best series "pick up" line to get people curious?
Hmmmm, a one-liner for the series?  How about:  "If you like your men hot, your accents southern and your nights wild, this series is for you!"
Oh hell yeah! This Southern girl definitely has a thing for that Southern drawl when it comes to heroes. *swoons* (ergs! maybe I went a touch heavy on that toddy!) So *clears throat* Can you tell us 3 fun/sexy/quirky/etc behind the scenes facts about your Wild Ones series?
1.  Trick's name (a nickname for Patrick) was born from the opening scene (think Trick or Treat), not the other way around.
2.  Jake didn't even like marshmallows until he took Laney camping and tasted them the right way.  *wink wink*
3.  I didn't know about Jet's nipple ring until Violet found it first (also the "right way" LOL).
Well now. That's a fun little surprise to find ;) Alright so if you could spend a whole weekend with one of your Wild Ones couples which of them would you pick, why and what would yall get up to? Or would you have to bring along the whole crew?
I would probably choose Trick and Cami for a couple of reasons.  They are special to me since they're the couple who brought me so many wonderful things to my career, but also because their love story took me by storm when I wrote it. I'm a huge animal lover, too, so I'd love to actually meet Rags and Apples (the horse).  There's a scene in the book that I can still visualize to this very day and it STILL gives me chills:)
Horses totally make me nervous but gosh they're pretty. Sounds like a pretty fab day hanging out with them :) Now...Top 4 reasons these guys are....a little wild?
1. They're all alphas.
2.  They're all rebellious in one way or another.
3.  They're all super sexy (which makes wild FUN)
4.  None of them were looking to be tamed.  Until they met the right girl.
It is so fun watching that happen when the right ladylove comes around. So, of all the guys and gals...which one loves Christmas the most and do they go all out for it?
Trick and Cami.  Their first Halloween is on my blog (fitting for a guy named "Trick") and as much as they did for THAT holiday, I can only imagine what fun Christmas might hold.
Oh I will so have to check that out! Which of the guys would most likely end up on Santa's Naughty List...and would it be worth it? lol
I think Jet would be the first to come to mind, but when I really think about it, I'm convinced it would be Jake.  That boy...wow!  And YES! It would be worth it!
Bwaha oh I can SO see him landing on the naughty list. And mmhmm so worth it too. lol Alright a couple quickies! *rubs hands together*

Favorite holiday inspired Man Candy?

Now doesn't he look like he's ready for a spot of naughty....

Favorite Christmas smell?
Pine, closely followed by anything cinnamon
Most creeptastic (or awesome) Christmas decoration?
The elf on a shelf thing.  I can't decide whether to laugh or shiver.

Oh hell. Shiver. Definitely shiver Michelle. That's one creepy little bastard! lol

Best Christmas left over?
Chocolate cake.  Of course.  hehe
Oh I knew I liked you! lol So, what are you most looking forward to this holiday season?
Family time.  My father hasn't been well and I'm going to enjoy every second with him that I can:)
Aw that definitely sounds like an awesome plan. Time with the family is great. Now, before ya head out what's up next for you on the writerly front?
Well, I have a stand-alone releasing March 15th.  It's called Pocketful of Sand.  I just revealed the cover and blurb for it on December 3rd and I've decided that it's going to be pure torture to wait for March to roll around.  LOL
I also have a special that will be posting on my blog December 21st.  It's called "A Davenport Christmas"  Hopefully that speaks for itself:)  #CashDavenport

Oh yay! Can't wait to check out A Davenport Christmas and omg I saw the cover reveal for Pocketful of Sand and totally squee-d. I can't wait! Thanks so much for dropping in Michelle! Happy Christmas prepping!
Thank you so, so much for having me!  I hope you have an amazing Christmas, as do all of your readers!  Enjoy and be safe!
Alright kittens! Yalls turn! Leave Michelle some comment love! Got a question for her? A favorite bit of the interview? Just wanna leave her some reader love? Go for it!
Camille “Cami” Hines is the darling daughter of the South’s champion thoroughbred breeder, Jack Hines. She has a pedigree that rivals some of her father’s best horses. Other than feeling a little suffocated at times, Cami thought she was pretty happy with her boyfriend, her life and her future.

“Trick” blurs the lines between what Cami wants and what is expected of her. He’s considered the “help,” which is forbidden fruit as far as her father is concerned, not to mention that Trick would be fired if he ever laid a hand on her. And Trick needs his job. Desperately. His family depends on him.

The heart wants what the heart wants, though, and Trick and Cami are drawn to each other despite the obstacles. At least the ones they know of.

When Trick stumbles upon a note from his father, it triggers a series of revelations that could ruin what he and Cami have worked so hard to overcome. It turns out there’s more to Trick’s presence at the ranch than either of them knew, secrets that could tear them apart

When her thoughts aren't roaming in that direction, she'll be riding wild horses, skiing the slopes of Aspen or scuba diving with a hot rock star, all without leaving the cozy comfort of her office.
