4 stars-- Claimed (Outlaws #1) by Elle Kennedy

Holy hot damn! Elle Kennedy never fails to deliver. Scorching hot, captivating and totally addictive. Claimed was one helluva dirty, sexy, fun ride.

So. Decades ago a massive war hit and everyone now lives under a ruling counsel's thumb--you either live in the cities where everything is controlled and class, religion and free will are all eliminated or...you're outlaws who live outside of the cities and embrace all things wild, wicked and wanton...and you're hunted by the counsel's enforcers. Such is the case with Connor and his men who have suddenly found their lives invaded by a lone female they aren't quite sure they can trust--and that might very well bring danger to their door-- but that they couldn't say no to when she needed help.

3.5 stars--Under the Surface (Alpha Ops #4) by Anne Calhoun

Undercover cop, cheeky ladies bar named Eye Candy, heroine with a mission but a dirty childhood friend, undeniable sexual chemistry and futile resistance. Under the Surface was a sexy, flirty, holy-cow-fan-yourself hot read with a side helping of danger. Yes, please!

The quick of it is that one of Eve's childhood friends has propositioned her. He wants to use her bar to launder his drug/gang money. And she agrees. Then quickly heads to the cops to let them know. She's determined to clean up her city and will be damned if the bad guys are gonna use her bar as a front. Little does she know that when she hires a new bartender a short time later...she's also brought in an undercover cop who's mission is to keep her alive and make sure she was on the up-in-up.

4 stars-- Kill or Be Kilt (Highland Spies #3) by Victoria Roberts

Grumpy, growly Highlanders and smart, sassy English Ladies. Gah this series! I just love it. It's been such fun watching the English Walsingham sisters invade Scotland and send the lives of so many Highlanders spinning. Kill or Be Kilt was utterly charming and deliciously entertaining!

The quick of it is that Ian is basically facing what he considers hell. It's time for the yearly check in with the English King and Ian and his fellow Lairds are having to leave Scotland and make their way to Court. Bad enough on it's own but this time he's going to face one of his greatest fears as well... Lady Elizabeth. The sister-in-law of another Laird who has been smitten with him since she was 15 years old and wasn't one bit shy about letting that be known. Trying times are definitely ahead especially when he realizes she's no longer a child but every inch the desirable woman and there's something hinky happening at Court and her family may very well be involved. Oy!

3.5 stars--Too Hot to Handle (Romancing the Clarksons #1) by Tessa Bailey

Tessa Bailey!!!! *pets the pretty* Pretty much if Tessa's name is on the book... I'm gonna need it. Neeeeeeed it. A new series with siblings on a car trip? Yes, please!

And Too Hot To Handle turned out to be pretty dang fun! A semi-goth heroine, a reformed manwhore hero, bickering siblings and a car trip full of disasters, some lustiness and unexpected romance. Yeah. It was a good time as Rita and her semi-estranged siblings set out on a cross country road trip to fulfill their mother's death bed request that they head East and jump in some icy cold water on New Years. A broken down car before they even make it half way kinda puts a kink in that plan.

Alright so 5 things about Too Hot to Handle!

Woohoo! A new to me author and such a fun read! So Risk of Exposure. She's a spy. He's ex special forces hired to look after said spy by her daddy and she kinda caught him doing so and blackmailed him into helping her with her mission. I loved the two together :D She's kinda bad ass and I LOVED seeing her give him a run for his money...

Tasty Delights-- Breakfast Biscuit Bake

I saw a post a while back where they made a breakfast skillet with a biscuit crust on top and since breakfast is one of my favorite things I decided to play around with some of the things I had in the house and one of my pretty skillets my mom got me--they can go from stove to oven--and this came to be.

It was pretty easy and oh yum! Yeah the noms were good, yall. It did take me a couple of tries to get things right but worth the effort.

Randomly Random-- So I was laying in bed...

The other night I was laying in bed and for some reason I was thinking about all the stuff in the house and I was like hmmm I wonder what item in this house I've had the longest and still use. Not just the oldest item but been with me the longest and like I said still used.

And you know what I came up with?

1.5-2 stars--The Seduction of Kinley Foster by Lisa Wells

There was a lot of cute and cheeky with a side of sass going on in The Seduction of Kinley Foster as the heroine--who is an aspiring author--arrives at the romance writers convention and finds out the guy she used to crush on as a teen and that broke her heart is attending too and is an agent...and he's managed to read her manuscript! Has some things to say about it too that'll get a girl all riled up. I was having a pretty good time with it. I mean, hello! enemies to lovers, the forbidden fruit of a best friend's little sister, and a book convention full of readerly authorly peoples. I mean. So much love! But as things went along I struggled more and more with pretty much everything.

Bits & Nibbles-- {The Duke of Olympia Meets His Match by Juliana Gray} & {Brave Enough by M. Leighton}

The Duke of Olympia Meets His Match (Untitled 0.5) by Juliana Gray

The Duke of Olympia Meets His Match was a cute little transatlantic jaunt as the Duke, well, meets his match in the intriguing widow Mrs. Penelope Schuyler.

The quick of it is that the elderly duke--yall he's 74!--is tasked with hunting down an anarchist hiding in the midst of a ship full of American heiresses voyaging to England. Oo excitement!

Bits & Nibbles-- {The Perfect Fit by Jenna Sutton} & {I Thee Wed by Celeste Bradley}

The Perfect Fit (Riley O'Brien & Co. #4) by Jenna Sutton

What a cute, make-you-feel-good read! I loved every second of The Perfect Fit. The only downfall of this one? That it had to end. I had such a good time with these two as desperation brought them together as roommates and they went from strangers to best friends to something even more. *sigh* I loved them.

Zeke is one sexy beast of a man. He's a little older at 36--she's 25--and maybe a spot world weary after coming home from war. And Margo. She's his opposite. She's young and cheerful and shiny compared to his regimented and more serious self.

A couple fantastic audiobooks from my last few weeks of walking and cleaning. I enjoyed both of these quite a bit. And my first male narrator! LOVED him. Anywho. On to the reviews!

4 stars--The Viscount Needs a Wife (Company of Rogues #17) by Jo Beverley

*Okay, okay. I know. It's Book 17. I know! Do. Not. Panic! It works totally fine as a stand alone. Promise!*

The Viscount Needs a Wife was a hefty book at over 400 pages but I flew through them and was completely wrapped up in the lives of Kitty and Braydon as the two come to an arrangement. She's in need of an escape from her deceased husband's very controlling family and he's in need of a wife to help him handle his newly acquired title as a Viscount and the two quarrelsome women who came along with it--the mother and daughter of the former Viscount. And so two strangers with only a mutual friendship with a local couple become husband and wife days after meeting and set out to conquer their new life together. Difficult women, mysterious disappearances and plots against the Crown included.

Just a quickie today from Jennifer Ashley's White Tiger. I had such a good time with this one. I mean, there's a kitteh shifter--he's a Tiger. Loves! He could be a little growly and the heroine a little sassy. I loved that she kinda poked at him sometimes...

You Oughta Know-- Facebook & Herding Cats (things are a changing)

Okay so a HUGE thing with the blog! Facebook recently decided to be difficult with our Fan Page. Views dropped to a ridiculous low. We've always had great interaction and reach and then this past month they were like BOOM no more views for you!

So! I started a FB Group for the blog since they don't get the same smack down as a fan page.

4 stars-- Best of My Love (Fool's Gold #20) by Susan Mallery

"This is really uncomfortable," she said firmly. "But I think we can get past it."

"Okay."

The slow response was more neutral than agreement.

"We have a purpose," she continued. "I want to fall in love and get married."

Aiden's expression tightened with what could only be described as panic. Some of her tension eased.

"Not to you," she pointed out. "Don't freak."

"Then don't say stuff like that."
Best of my Love is the perfect read if you're looking for a slow building low drama romance. It was a lovely time as Shelby and Aiden start up a bit of an experiment--strangers spending time together and becoming friends. No romance involved. That's right. No naughty bits shall meet and become friendly like. Just two people--who happen to be a female and a male-- getting to know each other, hanging out, and hopefully getting over their respective issues-- she's scared to trust men and he only ever has random hook ups but no real relationships with females..and that's gotta change.

4 stars--Outlaw Cowboy (Big Sky Cowboys #2) by Nicole Helm

Ahhh cowboys! Love me some cowboys. Some sexy times. Some drama. A second chance sort of romance and watching two damaged people grow and heal? Yeah. Nicole Helm had my attention from page one of Outlaw Cowboy and threw me all through a wringer...and it was quite the ride!

The quick of it is that Delia has come back to town to save her baby sister from a bad situation and needing to hide out she pretty much squats on Caleb's land in an old cabin. That is until Caleb discovers her. And then all sorts of growly sexy goodness begins. He may be attracted to Delia but dammit! Caleb does not need the trouble that always follows Delia around. Not when he's trying to turn his life--and ranch--around. A battle of wills...they're gonna have. And it's gonna be messy.

3.5 stars--How I Married a Marquess (The Secret Life of Scoundrels #3) by Anna Harrington

Anna Harrington has me totally smitten. She's a breath of fresh air to the historical romance genre and has me clamoring for more. How I Married A Marquess...unique, action packed and enchanting.

The quick of it is that Thomas is a rather broken ex-spy. He was injured a year ago and just hasn't recovered his steady hand. But he's determined to make his way back and prove to the War Office he's fit for duty again and to do so? he's going to help track down a highwayman that's been targeting guests leaving one particular home for the past couple years. A house party provides the perfect cover if only he can keep his wits around the lovely and distracting Josephine who is way more than she seems at first glance...

Insta-Wednesday: Erm...catching up!

Because I love Instagram and fun pictures. The Herd's week ala Instagram :)

Yeah. So I somehow missed like two weeks in April. Erms. Oops!
So catching up a little on that. Then from here on out probably doing the Insta-Wed every other week...

5 stars!! Fly With Me (Wild Aces #1) by Chanel Cleeton

Wow. Just...wow. Yall, Cleeton left me smiling, with tears in my eyes, and desperately needing book two of the Wild Aces series. Fly With Me blew me away. What a stunningly wonderful mix of humor, love, lust, heartbreak, and dreamy romance. *serious reader-girl sigh*

The quick of it is that sometimes the Fates they do conspire a girl meets her the man of her dreams while wearing a bobbing pink penis headband and rocking out to music at a Vegas night club. Yeah. Not the most glamorous of moments but one that sparked off an instant connection and a whirlwind romance between Noah and Jordan. Two very different people with a connection that refused to be ignored despite everything standing in their way...including an entire country.

Holy freaking cow. There are some serious releases happening today.
Night Shift and Outlaw Cowboy were both real good.
Goodman, Black/Blake, Cleeton, Bradley...all on my need list. *reader girl sigh*

Oh and Fly With Me? Fucking AMAZING. Got a 5 star review from me (up today!) and it's only my 2nd one for the year. Loved it.

Charlaine Harris has been a long time favorite of mine (minus a book not too long ago) and oh I have been enjoying Midnight, Texas. It's mystery with some paranormal added in and brings characters from all her different series into one real quirky odd town in Texas.

Anywho. So this is Fiji who is the resident witch and her familiar...Mr Snuggly. Fiji has to pick one of the local men for something and her kitteh is, well, cat-ish about it with his advice. I totally cracked up at the end. I may or may not have had similar thoughts about the herd babes over the years.
