The Monthly Herd: February. We at least made it to the end.

February was a long month. On the blogging front it wasn't bad. I had a lot of posts go up though I did take a few days off for some down time. There were a couple tours I put together and they went well, a blog hop spreading the love earlier in the month and a couple sign ups for future events opened. So it was a pretty good blogging month. Oh and I even started a couple new features-- Meet the Herd & Stahp It! I'm loving both of them so far.

On the home front I'm wiped out. We lost both our herd pup Margarite and then a week later Foster Girl Ro who has been with us for years. Both girls were such troopers and sweet hearts until the very end and passed peacefully with lots of love around them. For that I'm very thankful. I played hermit after they passed and I'm way behind on blog visits and such. I do appreciate all of yall hanging in there with me. Those that sent love and good thoughts for our girls and for everyone who got what a loss it's been for us. I wasn't able to reply to everyone but know that I greatly appreciate all of you and it really did help me get through those days.

I've been loving Jill Sorenson so was pretty excited about this one. Plus a little different for a hero seeing he's an ex-con and recently released. Oh and his brother in law is a cop he'll be living with and he's kinda got a thing for the cops sister. Oh yes.

I love when the heroine turns the tables a little....

3 stars--Passionately Yours by Cara Elliott

Such a gorgeous cover! I've really been enjoying this series from it's beautiful covers to it's lively heroines who all have a penchant for writing. This time it's the youngest sister, Caro, who is a poet. A poet with, much to her despair, a sorrowful lack of romantic adventure to inspire her writing. Little does she know...the sedate trip to Bath with it's healing waters is about to give her ample adventures both romantic and otherwise!

4 stars--Kiss Me in Christmas (Christmas, Colorado #6) by Debbie Mason

So. Chloe.

Chloe is the twin sister of the previous heroine, Cat.

And I'm not even gonna lie. When last we met I was totally on board with her getting run over by a Christmas Parade float.

Totally. On. Board.

But dayum! Mason is GOOD! Completely won me over to Chloe. Never thought that would be possible. <stunned and awed>

1 star--Unexpected Rush (Play by Play #11) by Jaci Burton

I'm starting out with the fact that I seriously can't believe I'm giving a Jaci Burton book a 1 star review. I freaking love this series. It's one of my comfort series. But Unexpected Rush did not mesh well with me at all.

The quick of it is that Harmony has just broken up with her boyfriend and she's set her eyes on her brothers best friend and teammate, Barrett. She's had a bit of a crush on him since she was a kid and she's ready to make things happen. He on the other hand is reluctant seeing as how he knows it's going to hurt his relationship with her brother and that relationship means the world to him. And so begins a push and pull game of you know you want it--no I don't--yes you do and I'm gonna prove it.

Anna Harrington is a fairly new author to me. This is the second book of hers I've read now and, yall, I'm seriously becoming smitten! They totally captivate and for me that's an amazing thing as of late. I seriously can't put her books down. Yay! Anywho. So there's some danger in this one. In this first quote they've been locked in a room and are trying to get out by breaking the door handle so they can escape. I just loved that she caught him by surprise :D

4 stars-- A Convenient Engagement (Countess Scandals #1) by Kimberly Bell

A Convenient Engagement! Ahhh it was so fun! The quick of it is that Gavan--a Scottish Laird who has pretty much runaway from the job-- and Hannah-- a woman on her own after her father's death and starting over--are new neighbors. And lordy be but it is NOT going well. Construction at ungodly hours--on her part--and endless complaints--on his part. A scandalous row as they have it out on the front steps. A cut direct. A engagement of convenience to save her reputation. Whew. Yeah. It's enough to drive a rake to drink but so damn entertaining for us!

Erms. I'm totally late with Monday's Quote-tastic. Oops! It's still technically Monday so we're going for it. lol

I love me some Cherise Sinclair and since Sophia from Delighted Reader and I were doing some throw back re-reads/reviews I decided to revisit My Liege. I reviewed it way back in my first year of blogging originally. This is one of my all time favorite reads and just as yummy on the re-read. It's crazy hot and sexy and romantic and has some really funny moments too. This first one cracked me up. It's her first night working at the club as the receptionist...

3.5 stars--Betting On The Wrong Brother by Cathryn Fox

Light-hearted and sexy! Betting on the Wrong Brother was a cheeky reader-girl inspired good time!

The quick of it is that Andi is in Vegas for a book convention and low and behold the boy who broke her heart when she was a teen just so happens to be staying at the same hotel, is trapped in the elevator with her aaaaannnd.... doesn't have a clue who she is. Revenge is most definitely in store. Who will get the last laugh, erm, orgasm? That's still up for debate!

1 star/DNF--How to Wrangle a Cowboy (Cowboys of Decker Ranch #3) by Joanne Kennedy

Cowboys! I love cowboys. And I was kind of digging the set up on this one. After her long estranged grand dad passed away Lindsey's come back home for the funeral only to find out she's now the new owner of a sprawling family ranch. Even worse? She's gotta deal with the ranch foreman who just rubs her wrong. She's sure he's trying to con her grandmom. And his feelings aren't much more friendly towards her and her intentions. That could totally lead to some fiery interactions, right?

Alright, despite a set up I would typically enjoy and a single daddy hero (total sucker for those!) How to Wrangle a Cowboy turned out to be a DNF at the 50% mark. There were just too many things I couldn't get past that landed it in the meh category.

Alright so...

4 stars-- The Master (Submissive #7) by Tara Sue Me

*dreamy sigh* Amazing hero, incredible heroine, an emotional journey that tugged at the heart and brought all the feels, toe curling heat. Lordy. Yes, please!

The quick of it is that a little while back Sasha was severely traumatized in a BDSM scene gone wrong. It devastated both her body and her mind and has kept her from the lifestyle she used to love and crave. Now that she's finally healing she wants her old life back but the only way that's going to happen is with the help of Cole--one of the group's Master Doms. A man who both intimidates and entices her and who will do whatever he can to help her find herself once again.
"Good afternoon, Sasha," he said, sounding like a perfect gentlemen and not at all like he would soon have her bent over a chair with her naked ass in the air.

"Good afternoon, Sir."

Insta-Wednesday: Short week!

Because I love Instagram and fun pictures. The Herd's week ala Instagram :)

Hrms. I wasn't very photo clicky this week it seems. lol A little reading. A little herding. A little sky gazing after the USO...

Bits & Nibbles Reviews--The SEAL's Secret Lover by Anne Calhoun & Boiling Point by Tessa Bailey

The SEAL's Secret Lover (Alpha Ops #1) by Anne Calhoun

Sweet and sexy! The SEAL's Secret Lover was such a fun read as Rose and Kennan (her brother's best friend) chaperone three little old ladies (her grams and her best friends) on a tour around Turkey. Hitting all the major sites (and bathrooms) along the way and maybe letting temptation get the best of them too (yay!)

Okay so Wickedly Powerful. This series is about the Russian Baba Yaga fairy tale. Basically powerful witches that can help people when they're called. This is towards the beginning and made me smile. Basically, the guy was doubting that Bella was the Baba Yaga because she was young and not the old ugly Baba Yaga they were expecting to find based on the fairytales.  So she proved herself just a little. I like the children bit too. lol
