The Monthly Herd-- September-- Good Night this Month!

It's Fall!!! I love the fall. I'm ready for temps to drop, trees to go all red and yellow and golden. Hot chocolate and fires in the fireplace. Heaven! If only NC would get totally on board and stop with these 85+ days. lol

So what's been going on:

3.5 stars-- The Corner of Forever and Always (Everland, Georgia #2) by Lia Riley

Oh my gosh, yall. This cover. It's so flipping cute! It gave me a case of instant *grabby hands* lol

And The Corner of Forever and Always was a totally cute read, too!

The gist is that both Tuesday and Beau are now in the business of saving things. He's trying to save the town and she's trying to save the town's historic amusement park. And they might just have to work together to make sure both happen even if they drive each other rather nutty. *nods*

Ohmahgawd...all the pretty pet-ables! Seriously! Plus...Zsadist! And Window Cats!

There are a lot of books. A whole lotta books.
Plus my favorite book ever-- Lover Awakened-- is on sale for 1.99 and you should buy it. lol

4 stars-- Sleep Like a Baby (Aurora Teagarden #10) by Charlaine Harris

Yall. This is one of my favorite series from back in the day. And getting more of them 10+ years later.. yeeee! Gimme! Things are never calm for Aurora and Robin. A new baby, a missing babysitter, a stalker from the past? Oh, my! Not to mention family drama and some local crazies? Whew boy! Lot to handle when you're a new mama like our Roe. And it was such a good time!

I could not put Sleep Like a Baby down!

4 stars-- Chasing Christmas Eve (Heartbreaker Bay #4) by Jill Shalvis #QuoteTastic

Jill Shalvis! She is the best for finding fun quotes. And pretty covers. And hot heroes with sassy heroines. Pretty much she's just full of awesome. So I have two quotes for today!

First up. The heroine has come out to California and she's got a to do list for her trip. And the hero has maybe found it. lol

{Meme-age} ALL The PRETTIES!! Plus cat beds.

I wanted to meme. So there's a whole lotta memeage happening in this post. You might have to scroll down a bit to get the one you're looking for. 😸

The big herd excitement here was that the window beds they love...went on sale! They're usually $37 but right now on sale for $17.49. The herd *might* have gotten four more of them. Bwahaha. If you'd been wanting to try them out they're amazing and my girls argue over who gets to nap in them. lol

Amazon: HERE

Other than that. My new glasses did not fix the issue I'm having as hoped. I was damn near a cry over that, yall. I don't know if my vision changed too much in that 2 weeks from order to arrival and that's why or something else. But it's frustrating and keeping things slow here still. They are improving but the magic fix didn't happen. I did make it around to about half the blogs I normally visit this week which was amazing! And finished the print book I'd been reading. Which was also amazing. I hadn't finished a print book since early August. So, anywho. That's the update on that. Plugging along :) And doing some house projects.

Tasty Delights-- Israeli Couscous w/ Roasted Veggies & Feta

HelloFresh strikes again with a whole lotta noms! A couple years ago I totally fell for Israeli (pearl) couscous. It's different from regular and is more pasta-like. It's so dang good. My favorite way is in a spinach lemon sauce. But I've been expanding my foodie horizons and this week's menu totally helped me with that!

Toss in some tomatoes, some chickpeas and feta? Yes! I'm totally starting to eat like a grown up. lol

3 stars-- Blaze of Memory (Psy-Changeling #7) by Nalini Singh

Blaze of Mystery was a bit of a mixed read for me. There were parts of the storyline I really enjoyed but others dragged as Dev tried to resist his desires for Katya. A woman left broken on his doorstep and who posed a very real threat to the organization he runs in order to keep his people safe.

There are books! So many books that need to be pet!!

Seriously all the books. So dang pet-able. I haven't read any of the new releases but they sure are pretty.

4 stars-- Ride It Out (Desert Dogs #4) by Cara McKenna #QuoteTastic

Woo! Cara McKenna! Yall know I love her books. So dang sexy and just all together delicious.

Ride It Out is Miah's book. Finally! He's the romantic of the group and I'll admit his book took me by surprise. I was not expecting his heroine to have a kid. But it worked out great and made for some fantastic scenes. This one had me and my 35 year old grey hair having self laughing...

{Meme-age} New Arrivals & Fall Anticipation

I wanted to meme. And only had one weekly post to do it. So there's a whole lotta memeage happening today. You might have to scroll down a bit to get the one you're looking for. 😸

Yall! I read a book! An actual book! First one since mid August!
I'm still working on it but man it feels GOOD to actually do some reading in a real book. The eyes are improving. New glasses should be here this week so fingers crossed, yall. I've made some blog visits, too! I have a lot of catching up to do but slowly comment bombing yall. lol

Tasty Delights-- Zucchini Boats!

Stuffed Zucchini Boats! It had been AGES since I made these! Then they came in one of my HelloFresh boxes recently and oh my tasty! I should have been making these more often! Before I'd stuffed mine with vegetarian hamburger crumbles and marinara sauce. Those were good. These were a spot more...grown up?

They're veggie and quinoa stuffed. And I ate them all. #NoRegrets

Another super easy recipe and just kinda fun. For yall new to the blog. HelloFresh is a delivery service that sends a box of ingredients for three meals. It's a lot of fun and so tasty!

3.5 stars-- When the Scoundrel Sins (Capturing the Carlisles, #2) by Anna Harrington

Ever want to just yell -- motherfucker!!-- out a window? No? Just me? Hmmm Well, I certainly wanted to do just that for Annabelle and Quinn. Whew boy, yall! They had quite the situation.

The Gist: Annabelle is set to inherit an estate but there's a stipulation. She has to marry before her 25th birthday or the estate will pass on to someone else. See? Motherfucker! And Quinn just wants to escape to America but he's been summoned to help find Annabelle a proper suitor first. Yeah, the very Annabelle he accidentally ruined years earlier. And who tempts him something fierce. Again. Motherfucker!

Ohmy...bookgasm *pets the pretty*

So. Many. Awesome. Reads! The sales are fabulous. And some of the new releases...pet-able. Woo!
Let me know if you grab anything!

3 stars-- Going Dark (The Lost Platoon #1) by Monica McCarty

Yall. This is one of those reviews where you're gonna read the review and be like what the hell are you giving this book a 3 star for?

Yeah.

Going Dark and I did NOT get along. This book made me feel ranty damn near from the start and I have a near mile long list of issues I had with the book. Errors, characters, things that were just obnoxious.

And yet... it's still getting a 3 star. *boggles*

{Meme-age} I My Have Slipped & a bit of a Blogger Throwback

I wanted to meme. And only had one weekly post to do it. So there's a whole lotta memeage happening. You might have to scroll down a bit for the one you're looking for. 😸

Good morning! Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe in the storms. We're doing fine here since the projection changed but my family is in FL and dealing with it. Ergs! They're in a fairly safe area, thankfully.

Insta--Catching Up

Yeah. It's been a whole month since I did an InstaWednesday post. Lordy but August was a rough one. I think I actually formatted only one post in all of August so I'm...behind. lol Good news is my eyes seem to be mending! And with yet another new prescription I should be able to see normally again. OMG you guys! I'm so excited! New glasses will be in on the 18th!

With that said...what I've been up to this past month...

4 stars-- Disorderly Conduct (Academy #1) by Tessa Bailey

Goodness. Police recruits. A whole herd of charming, cocky police recruits heating up the streets of New York. Yes, please! lol Bailey's won me over with the Academy series. I actually started with book two then came back to Disorderly Conduct. And the crazy mess that's Charlie and Ever. And oh...it was fun.

The Gist: Horny lust filled eyes meet across a bar one night and BAM! naked bits are rejoicing! Ever and Charlie are two peas in a pod. They want to get all kinds of filthy together but skip the commitment and any attachments-- that's how they were raised after all. Until one day things change and Ever realizes she wants a happy ever after with someone and cuts commitment-phobe Charlie loose. Something he's not on board with. Not on board with at all. He just needs to find a way to prove to her dating other men? Terrible idea.

3.5 stars-- Here Comes the Bride (Chapel of Love #3) by Hope Ramsay

Here Comes the Bride was a fun read as a jilted bride maybe kinda falls for her ex fiance's best man.

The Gist:
Laurie's fiance is a wanker. And leaves her at the alter. Prick move, buddy. Prick move. The best man, Andrew? His goal is to make sure she's okay. That's all he cares about. Only problem? His boss-- Laurie's dad-- wants the split couple back together and tasks Andrews with that mission. Oy!

Ohmahgawd!!! ALL THE BOOKS! {and pirates!}

So. Many. Books! I skipped last week's post because oh my it was a week. So yall are getting those this week as well :)

I've read Disorderly Conduct, Here Comes the Bride, Hard Justice, When the Scoundrel Sins, Lady Eleanor's Seventh Suitor and Wild Ride Cowboy. All pretty darn good. Wild Ride Cowboy was my favorite then Hard Justice. Yall should check them out!

{Meme-age} Reading...a little, Bailed on Books, Sexy Novellas!

I wanted to meme. And only had one weekly post to do it. So there's a whole lotta memeage happening in this post. You might have to scroll down a bit to get the one you're looking for. 😸

Hey guys! I hope you're all doing wonderful. Things are still slow on the visiting and reading front here. My next eye appointment is Thursday and, yall, I've never been so eager to get in to see the doctor. lol Fingers crossed he has some plans for these eyes! This past week was busy even if not on the reading front. The #SupportTheTroopsAuction ended this past week and we raised a bit over $1100 for the USO. Yay!

And this weekend went to see Ed Sheeran play live in concert. It was...amazing. Since I'm not reading much and so reviews will be light in Sept I figured I'd start blogging some of these things so keep a look out for that later this week :)
