4 stars-- Bad Reputation (Bad Boys of Sports #1) by Nicole Edwards

Bad Reputation was totally fun!  Sexy with a side of sweet and a whole lotta lickable hockey player. My catnip, yall. My catnip.

Basically Chase has a thing for his best friend. But he's kept his naughty paws off her for 9 years and she's got him completely friend zoned but that's okay, really, because they're besties and do everything together. And then...Vegas happens.

Yeah.

Yeah. Vegas happened real hard (heh) and nekkid antics...they did happen.

Chase and Cassie were a hoot. They've got that known-each-other-forever thing going for them and I just loved their dynamic. Their teasing, that they were always there for each other, gave each other hell and had an amazing friendship. And seeing them dealing with the change from just friends to naked friends. So entertaining!
I have to stop thinking about Cassie's underwear.

Of course, that gets me thinking about what she looks like naked.

"Son of a bitch."
And, whew boy! The steamy bits. Yeah. Edwards can write some yummy sex scenes. Lordy she'll make a girl squirm! Once these two gave in things were on fire. *fans self*

Of course there were really sweet ones, too. Yall I was having a swoon over Chase. I really was. He's such a good guy despite being known as a bad boy of hockey that gets around.
"What can I help with?"

"You can take the drinks outside. I set the table out there."

"Hmm. Special occasion?"

"Yes." I shoot her a smile over my shoulder. "You're here."
I mean. Yall! *melts*

So, yes, there was a lot of turmoil as they changed their relationship but also on the work front for Cassie. She screwed up really bad while they were in Vegas and cost her company millions and horrible PR. There was...drama. And all her fault.

And that's where I had a slight issue with this one and had me wavering between a 3.5 and 4. While she didn't make excuses she did start pulling that 'the company is making me a scapegoat' bullshit. Which, honey. No. If you'd not messed up and they threw you under the bus...yeah. But you fucked up. They were WAY nicer to you than I woulda been. So. Yeah, she lost some awesome chick points over that for me.

All in all, though, Bad Reputation was a sexy blast. Cassie and Chase were adorable together and everything good friendships are made of. Watching it all turn to the nekkid fun variety of friendship was pretty entertaining. I'd read more from the series for sure. I do hope more sports will show up, though. It was pretty light on any actual sports even though he was a big sexy hockey player.

Chase: With a nickname like “Sin,” it’s no wonder they call me the bad boy of hockey. Opponents curse me. Fans scream my name—in the arena and in other, much more private places. Penalties or not, I’m not afraid to dish out a little pain. But pleasure? That’s my weakness. And no one knows it better than my best friend, Cassie Desrosiers. I’d have to be blind not to notice her rocking body and teasing grin. So when she invites me along on a trip to Vegas, my curiosity isn’t the only thing that’s aroused.

Cassie: Chase Barrett is a world-class A-hole. As his best friend, I’m allowed to call him on his BS. Who else is going to do it? Certainly not the puck bunnies swooning at every flex of his biceps. Everyone knows that Chase is the love-’em-and-leave-’em type. There’s no such thing as commitment for the king of casual hookups. So why should I care? Maybe because all work and no play makes me a sexually frustrated girl. It’s time to put the hockey stud at my beck and call to good use . . . but after a week in Vegas with Chase, I might never want to go back to the real world.
