The Monthly Herd-- January...with all the Cold

One month down! 11 to go!
Jan went crazy fast but also so dang slow since we were cooped up at home for so much of it due to below freezing temps, then snow, then rain. Rinse, freeze, repeat. lol

4 stars-- Indecent Exposure (Academy #2) by Tessa Bailey

*happy dance* When I spotted the series I had to give it a go. Love me some Tessa Bailey. Plus...yummy cover. Yep. Want!

So today's quote. It made me laugh. The heroine is from Ireland and in the US to help train at a police academy and they get an unexpected visit...

New Book Releases -- Ohmahgawd There's a LOT of Them!

Aaaaand BOOKS! LOTS of new releases. I still haven't found a good way to add blurbs to so many so for now click the image and it'll take you to the blurb on Amazon.

I read three of the new ones. One was okay, one I hated, one I enjoyed (the Tessa Bailey--you should get it lol)

4 stars-- Killer Jam (Dewberry Farm #1) by Karen MacInerney

I've been using audio to try new authors and decided to give Killer Jam a try because I like the narrator. And it was good, yall! I might have even listened to it twice now because I forgot to review it the first go around. Oops! It was just as entertaining the second time, though, which is impressive.
The Gist: During the town festival someone met their maker in the jam tent. And Lucy? Well, she's the main suspect. She and the dead lady had been having a disagreement over Lucy's newly purchased farm and been overheard. Damn timing! With a lazy Sheriff on the case it's up to Lucy to clear her own name and hunt down the real killer.

I wanted to meme. And only had one weekly post to do it. So there's a whole lotta memeage happening in this post. You might have to scroll down a bit to get the one you're looking for. 😸
Another week down! It's been cold then hot then cold again. Sitting at 23 this morning which is a little mean after the 60-70s we've had. lol Working aroudn the house boxing things up, doing an insane amount of cooking and watching over a couple herd babes that are feeling poorly from the weather change.

4 stars-- About That Kiss (Heartbreaker Bay #5) by Jill Shalvis

Oh yeah. Jill Shalvis. So you know it's gonna be a quote-tastic post. I had such a good time with About That Kiss and actually read it twice (might have forgotten to review it that first time, oops!)

So this first one just made me laugh. Gotta know yourself, right? lol

4 stars-- Cowboy SEAL Homecoming (Navy SEAL Cowboys #1) by Nicole Helm

A group of wounded SEALs, a sheltered cowgirl, a sassy goat and whole heap of 'what the fuck are we doing'. Yeah, Cowboy SEAL Homecoming was one dang fine read.
The Gist: When Alex's career as a SEAL came to an abrupt end he decided to return to the family ranch he and his step sister had inherited. The plan? Turn the ranch into a retreat for returning military members and, well, try like hell to ignore the damn pesky attraction zinging between them, too.

I wanted to meme. And only had one weekly post to do it. So there's a whole lotta memeage happening in this post. You might have to scroll down a bit to get the one you're looking for. 😸

So. We had some snow. lol Almost 8 inches in about 12 hours. Yall. That's a LOT of snow for the South. I've been housebound for going on 3 days now and am SO ready to break out and go somewhere.

I have an appointment with the food pantry for a tour today so I *am* going out but thankfully it's only like 2 blocks from the house.

It was a good week, though. Read, ate, got a lot done around the house and online. Can't complain.

4 stars-- Earl Interrupted (The Daring Marriages #2) by Amanda Forester [QuoteTastic]

Oh my, yall. I loved this book! I've got a real cute quote today.

There's some serious make a girl swoon sweetness happening here. The hero's recovering from a gun shot that nearly killed him and they're walking on the cliffs together. He's not great at the whole woo-ing thing and they'd talked a bit back about why his attempts had failed with other women and she'd given him some advice. Anywho...

3.5 stars-- Headmaster (Lessons From the Rack #2) by Tara Sue Me

Tara Sue Me always brings a deliciously steamy read to the table.

The Gist: Lennox runs a BDSM academy but he's kind of a Dom trying to not be a Dom. Yeah, he's got some issues happening. And Marie? Well she's about tired of waiting for him to get his Dom back and ready to make it happen one way or another. Poor boy doesn't know what's about to hit him.

In My Cart-- Degusta Box #3-- Food Noms!

I LOVE trying new things. A while back Mary over at Dark Thoughts shared about Degusta boxes. I was like yes, yes, I need to check this out!

Once a month they send a box of random goodies to try. From candy to sauces to cookies and pasta. It's rather fun seeing what they'll include. Here's what I thought about my June box!

{memes} Top Bookish Resolutions, Angry Letters & New Reads!

I wanted to meme. And only had one weekly post to do it. So there's a whole lotta memeage happening in this post. You might have to scroll down a bit to get the one you're looking for. 😸

It's been cold. Then hot. Then cold. Then warm. And cold and cold and hot. The herd is over it. lol I don't know if I'm grabbing flipflops or winter jackets. Ah!

I've been getting a TON done around the house, though, and doing some couponing during an event that ends today. Here's my final. I bought 259 items. Value of them: $830.70. I paid $55.66 in store. Then got money back from rebate apps and wound up getting PAID 10.23 to bring this home. A good bit is going to be donated. The veggies, vegan/vegetarian and cleaning items will stay put though.

4 stars-- The Final Score (Play-by-Play #13) by Jaci Burton

I've been reading on the Play-by-Play series for years now and, oh, I still love it. This one was kinda fun in that the hero is the kid of the couple from book one. But now he's all grown up and, whew, a sexy quarterback that's way too cute for his own good.

This first quote, yall.

It's his birthday part and, well, he's got some ideas...

4 stars-- Promise Not to Tell (Cutler, Sutter & Salinas #2) by Jayne Ann Krentz

Krentz always hits the spot and Promise Not To Tell...seriously delivered!
The Gist: Decades ago as children Virginia and Cabot were rescued from a cult. And all these years later there's a real possibility that the man behind their near deaths and their mother's murders has resurfaced and they're in his sights once again.

4 stars-- The Rogue Is Back in Town (The Wayward Wallflowers #3) by Anna Bennett

I had such a lovely time with The Rogue is Back in Town--A sticky situation, a frazzled heroine and a rogue that simply will not go away.

The Gist: Sam's brother has tasked him with evicting a family from one of his properties. Not something Sam's all that keen on doing but it's that or be cut off completely. Financially and from the only family he has left. So off he goes. A simple task, really. Except the young woman in question? She refuses to leave. So Sam? He moves in with her. Mmhm.

Tasty Delights-- Pasta w/ Pesto Cream Sauce

I've become... a pesto junkie. Yall. It's my crack. I seriously regret the fit I threw back in 4th grade when we went to a dinner party and that's all there was. Damn young me! What was I thinking? All those years missing such a yummy dish! lol

Anywho. Pesto Cream Sauce. It's super easy. The whole dish is. And it works on pretty much any pasta. I usually make it with tortelloni but this go round did a linguine.

Don't Take It Personally...I Can't Review Your Book.

Woo! It has been a LONG time since I did a Blogger to Author post. 3 years maybe? Eep! Goodness. But I had something to say so figured I'd do a new post.

I Just Can't Review Your Book.
It's Nothing Personal.

[meme-age] Oh, Erm, Yeah, I Meant to Read Those Books + New Ones On My Shelf

I wanted to meme. And only had one weekly post to do it. So there's a whole lotta memeage happening in this post. You might have to scroll down a bit to get the one you're looking for. 😸

Yall. It's cold! It's been a long week here. Mainly because I'm a Southern Girl and it's been WAY too cold for the likes of me. And my house. My poor house is all...I can't even! Yeah, my hot water pipes froze. And I went almost 72 hours without hot water. Hell, yall. I was in hell. And fixin to rent a hotel room just for a hot shower. lol That first shower after it thawed...ohmygawd, yall. lol And we got actual snow! Usually we just get ice but we got about an inch of fluffy snow. It was lovely. Anywho. Lots of reading. And house stuff and such...

4 stars-- Make Me Sin (Bad Habit #2) by J.T. Geissinger

Yall! I've found a new favorite series! Geissinger has totally blown me away with these. They've got so many layers and even though there's some dark elements there are some hilarious ones.

This had me chuckling. Chloe's late to a bridal fitting for one of her best friends...

4 stars-- Barreled Over (Trinity Distillery #1) by Jenna Sutton

A sexy hero, a sassy heroine  and a bourbon distillery? Oh yeah. I had a good time with Barreled Over. There was a lot of yum happening here, yall.
The Gist: Country music star Ava Grace needs male fans and is teaming up with a bourbon distillery who's trying to up it's female customer base. The perfect professional solution! I mean, other than her undeniable urge to do filthy things to one of the sexy, yet relationship wary, distillery owners.

New Book Releases + SALES!

Some real good looking ones today. I loved Loren's The Ones Who Got Away. It was super unique. Review is up today so stop by and check that out. Promise Not to Tell and The Rogue that Got Away were great, too!

4 stars-- The Ones Who Got Away by Roni Loren #QuoteTastic

I was ALL over this Roni Loren when I saw it. I actually read it back in, erm, August. Yeah.

And it was quite unique. The series connection? Kids who survived a school shooting and are coming back together a decade later.

I have a couple quotes because I just couldn't decide! lol
