[memes] It's So Damn Hot, Series I've Bailed On + My Week in Books

I wanted to meme. And only had one weekly post to do it. So there's a whole lotta memeage happening in this post. You might have to scroll down a bit to get the one you're looking for. 😸

Whew. Another week down. It was a busy one. Not bad just busy.
  • Cleo is doing pretty good but gave me a scare and spent the night at the e-vet Monday. Turned out to be constipation and the most expensive poop ever since she was there for near 24 hours for them to make sure she was okay. She's being a bit difficult but the vet said she did look great (other than the not wanting to poo at home) during her visit today. Ah! lol
  • I finally got back to volunteering at the food pantry after 2 weeks off for Cleo's care. And even taught another couponing class Thursday which was a lot of fun.
  • Blog Ahead starts today so hoping to get caught up on all things blogging this week including blog visits now that things are *knock on wood* getting back to normal.
  • And seriously it is so freaking hot and humid. I am done. Why can't it just stay 70 year round?!! lol

A light week but not bad. I'm having fun catching up on non review books and authors I love. Shoulda Been a Cowboy was a nice short one with them finding romance 15 years later. Instant Attraction was a nice wintery read at an outdoor adventure lodge.

Just one for review and I'm reading it now. Good Time Cowboy has been, well, good so far. lol Enemies to lovers with a rugged cowboy. Yes, please!

Top Ten: Series I Don’t Plan to Finish

Joanna Wylde, Laura Kaye, Lori Wilde, Sarah MacLean, Julia Quinn-- I bailed on the authors so won't be finishing those series.

I love Bailey but just never settled into this series from her so called it quits.

Banks used to be amazing but the series deteriorated and is poorly put together insta-love at this point so I bailed.

Sheehan's series I LOVED book one but then they just felt like shock value for the sake of it and not the story itself.

Ward. Well I love the early ones but hate the younger brothers and how the series went from focusing on a couple to like 20 storylines per book. Eh

Question: How do you balance having a day job/career and managing your blog at night? Is it hard or easy to do, and what do people in your work life think of your blogs?
A: I'm lucky that I don't have to work full time. I do work as a virtual assistant to authors and do a bunch of volunteer work (USO and food pantry). The author work is very flexible and from home so it's easy to work the blogging around it and my set weekly volunteer gigs.
What do people think? The authors are great. Most I met because of the blog. The guys at the USO are super supportive and proud of both my blogging and author work. They're always bragging to people about it which is nice. The food pantry doesn't really know. I don't care if they do but I'm just not on a friendly social level with anyone there yet to really have talked about it. Maybe one day.
