And There Were Firsts! (Blog All About It)

This Month's Prompt!
FIRSTS

I love this challenge and that there are just so many ways to tackle each prompt.

Since I'm doing a lot of new things this year I decided to share some of my firsts so far in 2019.

[memes] Newest TBR additions? + my week in reading

Yall. It was COLD this week aaaaaand I got a cold. *hangs head*

It wasn't a bad week, though! I had the USO. And I went to a great concert. Scotty McCreery came home to play a show (he's a local boy from my county). It was sold out and wow he does a great job! He's such a dang cutie, too. Jimmie Allen opened for him. I enjoy him, too, though he struggled a bit with the performance. Scotty rocked it from the very start. Woo!

3 stars-- Playing for Keeps (Heartbreaker Bay #7) by Jill Shalvis

Yall know I love me some Jill Shalvis. And I've enjoyed this series quite a bit. But Playing for Keeps and I had some issues. Namely the heroine. Which was frustrating because the hero and the pup? Adorable!
Gist: A homeless pup in need of an owner finds herself...two! Does she care that her new mommy and daddy don't like each other? Nope! She surely doesn't. She loves them and she's not giving either up. So Caleb and Sadie are just gonna have to get along and figure out a way to co-pet-parent. For their new puppy's sake.

[3.5 stars] Whiskey Rebellion (Addison Holmes Mysteries #1) by Liliana Hart

3.5 stars, 1.5 heat

Whiskey Rebellion has been sitting on my tbr pile for, well, ages. I finally dove in! Yay me! And while a little over the top in places it was so much fun!
The Gist: Addison has her eye on a new place-- her apartment is being condemned. And the girl LOVES her creature comforts. Which means...she needs money. Pronto. If she's gotta play stripper to pay the bills...well, she's gotta do what she's gotta do. *nods* Finding a dead body her first night might put a stop to that real quick, though.

2 stars-- Her Greek Tycoon by Mona Risk

Oh dear. Orgasms are not true love. They really aren't. Stefano and Ashley, though, whew, they do not understand that at all. lol

I saw this one and thought the cover was so cute and Greece? Yes, please! Sadly...it turned into a no thanks.
The Gist: The fate of an old villa is at risk. Stefano has partially inherited it and wants to tear it down. The other owner, however, sends his granddaughter Ashley to save that same building. When she gets there and a hot guy invites her for a yacht ride? Well she's all over that!

Ghostly Paws (Mystic Notch #1) by Leighann Dobbs

Bookstore owners, kitties with a mission, a murdered librarian. Oh. My! Ghostly Paws was a spooktacular good time.
The Gist: On her way to work Willa noticed the library doors open earlier than they should have been and went investigating aaaaaaaand found the librarian dead at the bottom of the stairs. A simple fall...probably. Maybe. But something is off. She's sure of it. Especially when the librarian's ghost comes to visit her. O.o

[memes] Favorite New To Me Authors + my week in books

I wanted to meme. So there's a whole lotta memeage happening in this post. You might have to scroll down a bit to get the one you're looking for. 😸

Ahhh a week and a bit down for 2019! It's been a good year so far. Mostly. I've been rocking my 10,000 steps a day (got it every day!) and my calories. Taking my vitamin and working round the house. Have been doing some good reading, too. So not bad!

Hot As Sin (Bad Habit #3.5) by J.T. Geissinger

Oh Barney. He was one of my favorite secondary characters throughout this series and I've been dying for more of him. Hot as Sin, though. Totally bittersweet.
The Gist: For years Barney has protected the guys in the Bad Habit band. They're his family. But he's leaving them to take a job across the country. And this was the big goodbye.

2019 Goals & Ideas

Every year I make some goals. Things to keep an eye on through the year. I don't always manage all of them but I still like having something to check back on through the year. This year I'm doing Blog goals, Home goals, Personal goals.

So here's to 2019 and getting things done.  *nods*

[memes] Most Anticipated Reads of 2019 + my reader week!

I wanted to meme. And only had one weekly post to do it. So there's a whole lotta memeage happening in this post. You might have to scroll down a bit to get the one you're looking for. 😸

Woo! Last bit of 2018 and first bit of 2019 has been a whirlwind. A good one, though. It's been busy on all fronts.

Home Front
  • I've been doing...all the things. ALL THE THINGS. End of the year got me motivated. Paperwork, finances, organizing, getting all my ducks in a row.
  • The herd is all hanging in there and doing well. Yay!
  • I'm excited for 2019. I'm doing a lot of changes this year and getting healthy. So far 4 days in I've met all my goals. Including 10,000 steps a day. Which for someone who works at home on the computer is huge. I know it's just 4 days in but I'm feeling good about it all. Yay me! lol

The Cottage on the Corner (Apple Valley #2) by Shirlee McCoy

The Cottage on the Corner...yall. It made me hungry! For baked goods and sexy cops. Ha!
The Gist: Max is a ladies man. He loves them all. Though he doesn't know what to do with the two new ladies in his life... his three year old daughter who was a complete surprise and has been abandoned on his doorstep. Or the sexy baker who's got no time for men but turns out to be his saving grace when it comes to sudden daddy-hood and caring for a little girl.

We're 7!!

It was a stormy night... 7 years ago...

Ha! Okay. So it was most likely a chilly night 7 years ago seeing as it's winter and North Carolina. My mom was visiting for Christmas and we were up waiting for New Years and I was messing around online and was like...I should start a blog!

And so...I did.
