4 stars-- Rock Hard (Rock Kiss #2) by Nalini Singh

Yall. This series. It's so dang good!
The Gist: Charlie's new boss is a growly beast. Which scares the hell out of her after surviving a brutal attack. She's not backing down, though. Even when the sexy CEO starts mercilessly flirting with her. She will not be tempted. Will. Not. She just wants to quietly do her job and stay invisible. She absolutely does not want to lick him all over. Nope.

Oh man. Charlotte and Gabriel were wonderful. She is one fierce heroine. Has gone through absolute hell and torture. And is fighting to regain her independence and life. She suffers from PTSD and can be painfully shy and skittish but keeps trying. I loved watching her overcome her past and start to truly flourish. And Gabriel. Well, yes, he's a bit beastly and scary especially in the business world but the man is sharp and just incredibly sweet and kind. Gentle and patient and all kinds of sexy. He's a pretty amazing man if you look past the growly exterior.
He finished off the danish and licked up a bit of glazing that had come off on his thumb. Charlotte’s breath just stuck in her chest. It was so unfair how he could look like raw male temptation while eating a goddamn pastry. Which she’d given him. So she was responsible for her own torture.
The romance. I loved them together. From the banter and zingers to the gut wrenching sweet moments as they start working together --she becomes his assistant-- and emotions and lusty thoughts start making themselves known. It really was touching watching Gabriel with her. Dealing with her PTSD and on building her confidence, trust and a life together. And sexy. Heck yeah. That, too.

All in all, Rock Hard was just a fabulous romance. These two were just... everything.
Wealthy businessman Gabriel Bishop rules the boardroom with the same determination and ruthlessness that made him a rock star on the rugby field. He knows what he wants, and he’ll go after it no-holds-barred.

And what he wants is Charlotte Baird.

Charlotte knows she’s a mouse. Emotionally scarred and painfully shy, she just wants to do her job and remain as invisible as possible. But the new CEO—a brilliant, broad-shouldered T-Rex of a man who growls and storms through the office, leaving carnage in his wake—clearly has other plans. Plans that may be equal parts business and bedroom.

If Charlotte intends to survive this battle of wits and hearts, the mouse will have to learn to wrangle the T-Rex. Game on.
