Stats whiz Kayla Moriarity knows her way around numbers and algorithms. Men, on the other hand, are unsolvable equations. Now Kayla’s en route to her sister’s wedding—alone and without the fictional boyfriend she invented for her family. Fortunately, her plane comes complete with complimentary cocktails and a ridiculously hot ex-marine in the seat beside her. And that’s all it takes for Kayla’s inhibitions to go sailing out the airlock...
Cooper Shillings has soft spot for people in trouble, but he certainly wasn’t expecting to land in it himself—and definitely not while getting naughty mid-air with a sexy southern belle. When he hears Kayla’s predicament, however, he offers his services as a stand-in boyfriend. After all, he’s heading overseas soon...and how could he refuse a little no-strings wickedness?
It’s the perfect plan. And all Kayla has to do is ensure her family falls for the ultimate bluff, without falling for it—and Cooper—in the process...

Kayla and Cooper. Hmmm. They're a little different and a bit...quirky? The two meet at an airport when Cooper is drawn to the fidgety woman rocking a serious case of nerves over getting on a plane--because, you know, metal can of death with wings and all that-- and makes it his mission to distract her during their flight.
I really liked both of them. Kayla, to me, was a hoot. She can be awkward and spouts statistics/percentages especially when she's nervous but she was fun too and definitely not shy at all about having a bit of nekkid fun with Cooper. And whewboy, Cooper. He's sex walking. He's ex-military and a little damaged from his experiences but he's got that swagger and sex appeal that's just irresistible. I would so not mind him distracting me for a spell. There were some really funny moments between them but some incredibly sweet ones too.
"People in love usually look happy, though."The connection between them was pretty instantaneous and for me I forgot a lot of the time they'd just met. They were just good together and I loved that he liked her for just who she was quirks and all and totally got her. And steamy. Yeah. There's some serious heat happening starting with naughty airport sex. A couple times they had me scratching my head going hmm I don't think that position is *quite* possible. But still overall nice and fan yourself good.
"You think?" She turned to him. "I always thought they looked trapped."
A laugh escaped him. "Well, maybe some of them feel that way. I bet you have a statistic for that."
"Of course." She thought about it. "I'd say about fifty-seven percent are trapped, and forty-three percent are either ignorant of the fact that they feel trapped or genuinely happy."
He shook his head and then rolled it to the side, studying her. It made her wonder what he saw when he looked at her like that. As if she was a puzzle he couldn't quite figure out. Which was silly, really. She was easy to read. Too easy.
"I think you're pretty skeptical." He reached over his head and caught her hand. "I don't know what real love feels like, but if it feels as good as laying in an open field with you, it must be pretty fucking nice.":
This one was short and sweet with a lot of heat. I chuckled quite a few times over their interactions and had a couple girly swoony ones at the sweet moments. While there were lots of lighter scenes as he wound up playing the part of her boyfriend at the wedding she was attending there were some serious ones as well as they both dealt with misconceptions where their families were concerned and grew as individuals and I just loved that. I'll so be reading more from this series and checking out the rest of what Jen/Diana has written.
