Tasty Delights--Bran Muffins! No, no! Don't run away. They're good! Swear!


Tasty Delights and Dazzling Disasters is all about playing in the kitchen and having some fun.

noms! Okay. I know bran muffins aren't the wildest of things but really...they get a bad wrap.
This is one of my favorite recipes to make.
They're so easy and gah I could eat the entire batch. 


One thing I do is use powdered buttermilk.
I don't make enough things to use fresh buttermilk so the powdered it is.
And it works great. Just follow directions on the package for mixing it up to the right consistency and use like you would regular buttermilk.

Mix and bake!

Okay so a new trick I read about.
My muffins always have a greasy kind of bottom to the wrapper when I use them.
I read to put a bit of uncooked rice in the bottom of each well.
And it worked really nicely and soaked up any of the moisture that's usually left on the bottom of the wrapper. Just had to brush a little bit off that stuck to the wrapper.


The original recipe calls for raisins but I skip those.
I also add some coarse sugar on top while they're still hot.

Like I said. These are some of my favorites.
I make them a few times a year and they get gobbled up very quickly.
