#AFTH2015 w/ Tonya Burrows-- Pinterest w/ Tonya (there's cake, people!)

Eeps! Long time favorite joining us today. Tonya Burrows!! If you've been around the blog you know I've been kinda smitten with her since SEAL of Honor showed up. Yall remember that one? If not. I'm just gonna leave yall a wee little treat before she hijacks the blog.

See now. Are you glad I left you a treat? I mean. Dayum! It's a stellar read too. Anywho. Lots and lots of sexeh military men that are all kinds of tortured and delicious. Great heroines as well. *sigh* I think I just talked myself into a reread maybe. lol Alright. I rambled enough. Tonya's gonna play with yall for a while. Be nice (or naughty) and have fun with her. Hit those comments before you leave! ~anna

I have a confession to make. I’m addicted to Pinterest. Specifically, to finding new recipes on Pinterest. It’s fun to try new noms…and because I’m me, they don’t always turn out as amazing as the pretty pictures I had pinned.

So instead of just giving you a recipe, I figured I’d document one such trial. I picked an easy one this time: Apple Spice Drop Cake. It’s made exactly like it sounds: you just drop the ingredients in a crock-pot and leave it to cook. I can’t mess this one up too badly, right? Right?!
First you spray your crock-pot with a cooking spray, then dump two cans of apple pie filling in. Easy enough.

Add some cinnamon to taste. Just a little more. A little more. Oops! Maybe that was too much!

Next, melt a stick of butter and add in your cake mix. I used spice cake (my favorite!), but I’ve seen the recipe with yellow too if you’re not a fan. Mix until crumbly and spread on top of your apple filling.

This is the part I like. Set it and forget it. Cook it on high for 2 hours or low for 4.

And voila! Apple drop cake. Serve with ice cream or whip cream.

Thankfully, this recipe wasn’t a total fail—though I wouldn’t call it a complete win either. The cake crumble was somewhat gummy, but on whole, it was yummy enough that I plan to continue tweaking it until I get it just right. When I remade this over the weekend for a holiday party, I added some salted caramel ice cream topping and stuck it under the broiler for a few minutes to crisp up the top. It turned out delicious!

Have you ever had a Pinterest fail? What about a win? Tell me about them! One commenter will win a signed copy of my January 4, 2016 release, RUNNING WILDE!

Thanks so much to Anna & the Herd for having me back this year!

I lurve me some Wilde brothers. You need to read them so we can squee together! #justsayin

Lark Warren can never stay one person for too long, so when her past starts to catch up to her, she hops the first bus out of DC, steals a new name, and goes deep into hiding in New Orleans. Unfortunately, all it takes is the wrong set of eyes to blow her cover. Enter Vaughn—the man she once let too close to her real self.

Ex-Navy SEAL Vaughn Wilde has one objective: drive Lark back to DC to face charges for identity theft—which would be easier if he could forget the three lust-filled weeks he shared with her before she disappeared. With each passing mile, he can’t ignore the heat still sparking between them…or the fact he has led her enemies right to her.

Lark can’t stay with Vaughn, not when it will put him in the crosshairs of the dangerous man she’s spent the last five years running from. But Vaughn is determined to keep her safe—even if it means she’ll run off with his heart all over again.
