[3.5 stars] Whiskey Rebellion (Addison Holmes Mysteries #1) by Liliana Hart

3.5 stars, 1.5 heat

Whiskey Rebellion has been sitting on my tbr pile for, well, ages. I finally dove in! Yay me! And while a little over the top in places it was so much fun!
The Gist: Addison has her eye on a new place-- her apartment is being condemned. And the girl LOVES her creature comforts. Which means...she needs money. Pronto. If she's gotta play stripper to pay the bills...well, she's gotta do what she's gotta do. *nods* Finding a dead body her first night might put a stop to that real quick, though.

3.5 stars-- A Tall, Dark Cowboy Christmas (Gold Valley #4) by Maisey Yates

Christmas and grumbly cowboys? Yes, please! lol

A Tall, Dark Cowboy Christmas was a heart touching romance that had me wiping away some pesky tears, laughing, and rooting for two damaged yet strong individuals.
The Gist: Grant's found a woman sleeping in an abandoned cabin on his property. Turns out she's homeless and a bit prickly. Suits him just fine since he's a bit of an asshole, too. Might be they're exactly what the other needs to soften some of those sharp edges.

3.5 stars-- Secretly Smitten (Smitten #2) Anthology

Secretly Smitten was full of romance as a trio of sisters and their mother find love while trying to solve a decades old mystery involving their grandmother and her beau who was killed in the war--but might have survived somehow.

3.5 stars-- Snowed in with the Cowboy (Gold Valley #3.5) by Maisey Yates

Note: I accidentally deleted 6 months of the blog so this is a repost. All comments on the original posts were unfortunately lost. Sorry!

Christmas, a winter storm, one hot sexy cowboy who you've been lusting after for years aaaaand...getting snowed in with said cowboy at a small town lodge? Christmas wish come true!
The hitch? Well, that cowboy and that cowgirl are step siblings who've been secretly hung up on each other since forever. And, sweet Mary, what would their siblings and mom think if they gave in and had their way with each other?!! Erms!

3.5 stars-- Instant Attraction (Wilder #1) by Jill Shalvis

Jill Shalvis! Yay! I've been binge reading her backlist this year and that included trying the Wilder siblings who own an outdoor adventure business.

This gave me a laugh. Damn, indeed!

3.5 stars-- Want Me, Cowboy (Copper Ridge: Desire #5) by Maisey Yates

Note: I accidentally deleted 6 months of the blog so this is a repost. All comments on the original posts were unfortunately lost. Sorry!

Cowboys and Christmas! Yall know that's my catnip. Want Me, Cowboy was delightful!

The Gist: Poppy and Isaiah have worked together for 10 years. And suddenly her boss decides he needs a wife and tasks her with putting an ad in the paper and...finding him one. Seeing she's been in love with him for a decade and wants to fill that position herself, well, yes, she's a spot fit to be tied.

These two were interesting!

3.5 stars-- The Dom Who Loved Me (Masters and Mercinaries #1) by Lexi Blake

Note: I accidentally deleted 6 months of the blog so this is a repost. All comments on the original posts were unfortunately lost. Sorry!

The Dom Who Loved Me was an entertaining little read that combines so many of my favorites... (light) BDSM, suspense and nice ----though not always easy-- romance as Grace and Sean's worlds collide in a steamy and dangerous way during the hunt for a terrorist.
The Gist: Sean thinks Grace works for a company that's really a front for illegal activity and connected to terrorist activities. But he needs to get close to find proof so he goes a bit under cover and starts things up with Grace--an older woman-- thinking she might be the key to the investigation and he can seduce the truth out of her. But things, as they usually do, get oh so complicated when their attraction can't be denied and it turns out they both have an interest in BDSM. Ahhh yay!

3.5 stars-- Good Time Cowboy (Gold Valley #3) by Maisey Yates

Note: I accidentally deleted 6 months of the blog so this is a repost. All comments on the original posts were unfortunately lost. Sorry!

Ahhhh so many quotes. Yall I had a good time with these two and their families. I couldn't resist including all these bits.

First the hero and his sister. Gave me a good laugh because I am totally in agreement with the sister. That is a big ol nope.

3.5 stars-- Accidentally in Love with the Biker by Teri Anne Stanley

Note: I accidentally deleted 6 months of the blog so this is a repost. All comments on the original posts were unfortunately lost. Sorry!

Accidentally in Love with the Biker was a cute read. The cover is totally what pulled me in and it suited them perfectly.
The Gist: A romance book con and a writer in need of a date. A charming biker she met during a car accident agreeing to be her fake boyfriend during the book con? Score!

3.5 stars-- Cooper's Charm (Love at the Resort #1) by Lori Foster

Note: I accidentally deleted 6 months of the blog so this is a repost. All comments on the original posts were unfortunately lost. Sorry!

Lori Foster is always a good time. Cooper's Charm was all kinds of adorable and a lot of fun, too.
The Gist: It turns out an RV Resort is the perfect place to escape when you need to lick your wounds. Some hard work, a beautiful setting, sexy coworkers? Yeah, it'll do just fine for now.

3.5 stars-- Lost and Found Sisters (Wildstone #1) by Jill Shalvis

Note: I accidentally deleted 6 months of the blog so this is a repost. All comments on the original posts were unfortunately lost. Sorry!

I'm a huge fan of Jill Shalvis. I'd been putting off this series for a while, though, but it was a pretty fun start to things. It's more women's fiction than romance, though.
The Gist: Quinn's life has been upended. She's lost her sister and then, well, everything else falls to crap, too. Family, relationships, her job...who she thinks she is as a person. And she's left with a huge choice that will completely alter her life if she accepts it.

3.5 stars-- Midnight Alias (Killer Instincts #2) by Elle Kennedy

Note: I accidentally deleted 6 months of the blog so this is a repost. All comments on the original posts were unfortunately lost. Sorry!

This series. Yall. The characters are...fiery. The guys are with a group of mercenaries. The girls are a group of assassins. They're all rather badass and take no shit from each other. It's a good time.

The hero. He was trying so hard to be a good guy and not take advantage. Olivia, though? Well, she had some thoughts on this. So funny.

3.5 stars-- Rainy Day Friends (Wildstone #2) by Jill Shalvis

Rainy Day Friends was a good read. Great family, awesome characters, a tug at your heart storyline. A good time, indeed.
The Gist:  Lanie's a new widow and just found out that her dear husband...had been collecting other wives the whole time they were married. Yeah. Her method of dealing? Running away and accepting a graphic design job at a winery while she sorts shit out. The huge nosy meddling family and the hunky cop with two little girls...she was not expecting them. Nope.

[3.5 stars] Melt for You (Slow Burn #2) by J.T. Geissinger

Melt for You. Well. It was special. lol

Early on? Well I was going honey if you need to go on a stabbing spree I will help you hide the bodies. I WILL HELP YOU HIDE THE BODIES! Because seriously everyone but the heroine and her deaf cat were just begging for it. Lordy!
The Gist: An obnoxious neighbor who likes to prance around half nekkid and blast foul rap music vs a buttoned up, suppressed book editor who just wants some peace and quiet. Oh yeah. The battle is on between this unlikely duo and...fireworks!

3/3.5 stars-- Mail Order Cowboy (Gold Valley #1.5) by Maisey Yates

A little time with Yates's cowboys...is always time well spent. I enjoyed Mail Order Cowboy. It was a sweet little novella.
The Gist: Jackson? Well he's an overwhelmed new (single) daddy in need of some help. So he orders himself a nanny. Mmhm. He sure does. And whoboy does that shake things up on the home front.

3.5 stars-- Midnight Rescue (Killer Instincts #1) by Elle Kennedy

This series, yall, it's something. A band of female assassins heading off against a team of male mercenaries. And their bosses...who cannot stand one other. Damn inconvenient when their operatives start meeting and falling in love. Damn it all!
The Gist: Abby blew her cover. Got herself thrown in a torture chamber and well and truly fucked. But she had her reasons. 13 of them in fact--young girls about to be sold into sex slavery. She just needed to get close enough to them to mount a one woman rescue. Which got all blown to hell when her boss tapped a group of mercenaries to rescue her. Oy! Now they'll all have to figure a way to get back and save the young ladies before it's too late.

3.5 stars-- Claim Me, Cowboy (Copper Ridge: Desire #4) by Maisey Yates

It's always nice spending time with the sexy semi-cowboys* of Cooper Ridge.
The Gist: Joshua's dad decided to take matters into his own hands and placed a "wife wanted" ad in the paper searching for the perfect lady for his son. And the son, well he found out and placed his own ad looking the most unsuitable lady to teach his daddy a lesson. The bedraggled waif of a woman and her baby who showed up on his doorstep...yup...they'll do nicely! They just need to make it convincing and keep it from backfiring on them... as these things do. lol

3.5 stars-- Forbidden Fling (Wildwood, #1) by Skye Jordan

Whew! Talk about some sizzling chemistry! I enjoyed Forbidden Fling quite a bit. A flawed hero, a heroine out of options, life dreams at odds with one another, undeniable attraction, a family feud. It kept me eagerly listening.

The Gist:
Delaney inherited a vacant bar. It's pretty much sat crumbing for years but with the threat of demolition it's now or never where renovation is concerned. But her presence and reviving the bar bring up all sorts of ugly memories connected with a death on it's premises years earlier and  put a snag in Ethan's future as well.

3.5 stars-- Three the Hard Way (ACRO #7) by Sydney Croft

Yall! This was one of the first erotic series I devoured back before the blog. I seriously love me some ACRO. It's all about humans with special enhanced abilities that do all kinds of sexy super hero things. I'd been holding off on Three the Hard Way because I'm really not into mm. And, while it was a decent action packed--in more ways than one--novella it confirmed that, yeah, mm, totally not my thing.
The Gist: Needing to be rescued...sucks. Both your exes-- the betraying bastards!-- showing up and getting trapped in a one bedroom Alaskan bunker during a blizzard together? Fuck a duck. Seriously?

3.5 stars-- A Duke in the Night (The Devils of Dover, #1) by Kelly Bowen

Well hello yummy cover!

The Gist:

When his sister sneaks away in the middle of the night August figures he can just kill two birds with one stone-- hunt down his handful of a sister and suss out a new business opportunity. The school for young ladies where he finds her? Way more than meets the eye and quite possibly something that will change both of their lives forever.
