Audio Files-- Love in a Nutshell & The Husband List by Janet Evanovich & Dorien Kelly

I've been on a Janet Evanovich binge- listen lately and having a lot of fun with them. This time it was two books featuring heroes that were brewers--one present day and one historical.

Quote-tastic/Review-- Between the Devil and the Duke (Season for Scandal #3) by Kelly Bowen

So a couple quotes today. I've been loving Kelly Bowen's historicals lately. She has such amazing characters and captivating romances. This one. Yeah, the heroine. She was just phenomenal. So three quotes. The first made me laugh. The hero is a bit of a mystery to her and there are a LOT of rumors floating around about him. He owns a gaming hell, by the way.

Audio Files-- The Princess and the Peer by Tracy Anne Warren

I'm really enjoying this series. It took me a while to finish The Princess and the Peer but that was on life not the book and it was easy to jump back into the story even after days/weeks of not listening.

4 stars-- Last Chance Cowboys: The Lawman (Where the Trail Ends #2) by Anna Schmidt

My last review of 2016! And I loved it! There's something about this dusty Texas town that pulls me in completely! The Lawman hit the spot and left me even more smitten with Schmidt's writing.

Christmas Quickies-- {The Heiress and the Hothead by Sabrina Jeffries} & {Christmas With an Angel by Debbie Mason}

The Heiress and the Hothead (Sinful Suitors #1.5) by Sabrina Jeffries

The Quick Of It: A Christmas gathering. A heated kiss. A British hero set on exposing the atrocities of mill owners. An American heroine who so happens to own a mill. Realizing you just kissed the enemy? #Priceless

4 stars-- When a Laird Finds a Lass (A Highland Fairy Tale #2) by Lecia Cornwall

Oh, yall. I'm loving this series from Cornwall. Highlanders? Yes! Fiery fierce heroines? Gah, yes! Romance, a gorgeous setting, and fun storylines? Indeed!

When a Laird Finds a Lass. Well, he did just that. Fished her right out of the ocean after finding her unconscious in the waves. Injured and with no memory of who she was. The clan he's now in charge of? They totally think he should keep her. *nods*

3.5 stars-- When a Marquess Loves a Woman (Season's Original #3) by Vivienne Lorret

And so we have Max and Juliet...finally! Seriously yall. I was totally *flailing* about over these two! Lordy but I've been itching for When a Marquess Loves a Woman and getting that front row seat to the showdown between these two. And it was so dang fun.

So. Five things about When a Marques Loves a Woman...

Sooo a semi-new-to-me. Anna Bennett is actually one of my favorite authors who has had a name change. She used to write as Anne Barton. It was so good, yall.

Anywho. Today's quote. ::snort:: Basically, years ago the hero caught the heroine skinny dipping and he's having to squirm a bit and explain himself. This part of it just made me laugh. Good save, hero. Good save.

4 stars-- The Perks of Loving a Scoundrel (Seduction Diaries #3) by Jennifer McQuiston

A scoundrel and a bookworm. A man hiding deep pain and the woman who just might heal his troubled soul. Gah, yes! The Perks of Loving a Scoundrel was quite the adventure. Starting with a cute meet to end all cute meets. Yeah. The hero? He totally peed on her gate. And got caught doing so. ::snort::

The quick of it is that Mary has come to town to help her pregnant sister and, well, to have a little adventure. She's been hiding away in the country for too long and now London is at the tips of her fingers. So adventure she'll have. Assassination plots, scandal, scoundrels....yeah, that wasn't quite what her family had in mind when they encouraged her trip.

4 stars-- A Duke to Remember (Season for Scandal #2) by Kelly Bowen

Oh my. Bowen totally rocked this one. From start to finish I was seriously smitten with A Duke to Remember.

The quick of it is that a duke has died and his heir? Well, most think him long dead since he disappeared as a child. Everyone but his sister and his mother who are being made out to look crazy. So it's come to Elsie and her team to hunt down the long lost heir and help him claim his title from a cousin who will stop at nothing to claim it himself.

I've been having a good time with this series from Hutton. And The Earl's Return was so fun! This scene had me laughing. They'd gotten themselves in a bit of a situation and were trying to figure a way out of it...

4 stars-- This Earl is on Fire (Season's Original #2) by Vivienne Lorret

Lorret is quickly becoming a new addition to my auto-buy list. Yall, This Earl is on Fire was so much fun!

The quick of it is that Adeline has been sheltered her entire life because of a leg deformity but her family has come up from the country for her to have a proper Season. Adeline though? She's not thought in her mind of marriage but of...adventure. Now, having it land on her doorstep in the form of one very injured--and naughty--Earl? Well, that was unexpected! Trying to resist falling in love with him while he recovers from his injuries? Quite likely to prove impossible.

4 stars-- A Season of Ruin (Sutherland Scandals #2) by Anna Bradley

Sometimes you ask the world for one simple little thing--a proper and respectable man--and the world is like pffft wicked rogue for you! *hangs head* Such is the case for Lily. A quiet life? Nope...she's gonna get scandal hounding her heels and one oh so tempting but oh so naughty male who's all about a good time...not commitment. Yeah.

The gist of it is that historical homeboy screwed up and the only way to keep Lily from becoming a social outcast is to come to the rescue and ride out the storm with her and basically pretending that nothing sordid ever happened until all the little bitties move on to someone else. Then Lily can move on to her real proper life with someone else. Once again. Yeah. lol

Yummy growly highlander! Yes, please! This one was fun and had quite the fierce heroine who, yeah, a little dangerous but fun. I just loved this scene between them.

Woohoo! A new to me author and an amazing read. I had such a good time with this one and went a little quote-happy. #SorryNotSorry!

Okay so hero/heroine--who aren't a thing yet--are chasing after some bad guys and wind up in an inn for the night that only has one bed. Gave me a giggle...

4 stars-- The Summer Bride (Chance Sisters #4) by Anne Gracie

Oh I just loved it! The Summer Bride was the perfect end to a stunning series from Gracie. The characters, the romance, the humor and passion all came together for an absolutely charming experience as the last Chance "sister" meets her match in a cocky Irishman who has a naughty gleam in his eye.

The quick of it is that Flynn is searching for the perfect wife--elegant, classy, and a true Lady. And he's found himself incredibly bored with the polite, reserved women who fit that bill. His good friend Daisy, however, is another story. She'd rather dress the ladies of the ton than be a lady herself. She's crass, headstrong, ambitious and tempting him something fierce! She'll be damned if romance will get in her way, though. She's got things to do! Step aside, Flynn! Step aside! lol

Bites & Nibbles: [A Gift for Guile by Alissa Johnson] & [A Better Man by Candis Terry]

A Gift for Guile (The Thief-takers #2) by Alissa Johnson

A Gift for Guile was an entertaining historical romp with such enchanting characters. A prickly, oversensitive, knife wielding, former thief of a heroine and a somewhat stodgy private detective hero with an exasperating tendency of always saying just the wrong thing. Yeah. These two were something special. lol

4 stars-- Beauty and the Highland Beast (A Highland Fairy Tale #1) by Lecia Cornwall

Oh there was so much fun in Beauty and the Highland Beast. For starters I'm a total sucker for the whole Beauty and the Beast trope. Total. Sucker. Thrown in a growly, injured, maybe mad hero, a scarred heroine who was gentle and kind, a devil cat named Beelzebub who put the fright in big brawny highlanders and had them doing his bidding, a little magic and danger lurking where least expected. Gah, yes. It was entertaining as all get out. Plus...that cover!

The quick of it is that Dair--the laird's son and future heir--has been gravely injured after being captured and tortured and a healer claimed only a virgin would be able to save him. So off his daddy went to find him a virgin bride. And options a plenty were found with the neighboring clan who's laird had like a dozen daughters. One of which was Fia who had injuries of her own, was often forgotten, and quite wanted an adventure. And oh one awaits her as she ventures away from home to see if she can help.

Goodman has quickly become one of my favorites when it comes to historical western romances. Utterly captivating and full of grit, humor, and beautiful romances. They're just an amazing time.

Now, this first one. Kids don't usually work for me in books but Annaleah (who is 10 and the heroine's sister) is freaking hilarious. This is early on when she's just found the hero laying in their fields a good way towards dead and he just wants to be left alone and she just keeps on talking and talking at him.
