Okay so Wickedly Powerful. This series is about the Russian Baba Yaga fairy tale. Basically powerful witches that can help people when they're called. This is towards the beginning and made me smile. Basically, the guy was doubting that Bella was the Baba Yaga because she was young and not the old ugly Baba Yaga they were expecting to find based on the fairytales.  So she proved herself just a little. I like the children bit too. lol

2 stars-- Never Tear Us Apart (Never Tear Us Apart #1) by Monica Murphy

Never Tear Us Apart had me curious. It showed up on my doorstep with the promise of a dark and twisty read. It totally had my number and I enjoy Murphy--she can deliver such vastly different experiences with her series--so it definitely peaked my interest. And for the most part I enjoyed this twisted tale of two people damaged so thoroughly during their childhoods coming back together years later as adults. And things went well...until they didn't. There are going to be some semi-spoilers so *waves hands about* be warned and all that.

4 stars-- Wickedly Ever After by Deborah Blake

Oh Baba Yaga! How I'm loving this series. Blake is a refreshing new voice in the world of paranormal romance. Unique and intriguing. It's been a blast exploring the Russian mythology of the Baba Yaga. And Wickedly Ever After? Such a treat as we check in with Liam and Barbara post happily ever after.

1.5 star--Loud is How I Love You (Hub City #1) by Mercy Brown

I love rocker romances. But Loud Is How I Love You was a struggle for me. Which is incredibly surprising after seeing the hardcore fangirling over this one (including from a well known author). I'm not sure how that's happening, really. The gist of it is that two band members have had sex. And the heroine, Emmy, pretty much freaks out over it. And continues to freak out over it and in her panic to not ruin the band dynamics because of it she pretty much does just that. Rinse and repeat. Ad nauseam.

Alright so the good things

3.5 stars--Romancing the Running Back (Santa Fe Bobcats #4) by Jeanette Murray

Nom nom nom. So. I have a thing for the Santa Fe Bobcats. The guys are freaking lick.a.ble. The heroines spirited and lively. *reader girl sigh* Best combo ever.

Sooo Romancing the Running Back. The quick of it is that Anya has come to town to help her best friend with planning her wedding. And the best man? He'll suffer through having to work with her but he's so not on board with a bridesmaid he considers shallow since she's a fashion consultant. He's not about to make friends. Pesky attraction be damned!

This week? Seduction in Session. Yall I have been dying for this book. Hot romance, edge of your seat suspense. What's not to love? And love it I did. I couldn't help but pick three quotes. lol So this first one. This is why I love the hero, Connor. He's chatting with one of his best friends and I was going yup, yup. With ya on that. lol....

4 stars--Renegade (Taggart Brothers #2) by Lisa Bingham

Wow! Just...wow! Bingham knows how to deliver a story that'll tug at your heart, make you swoon, & leave you begging for a little more reading time to devour every single page. Renegade was an amazing read and, whew, it packed a punch as two individuals with the weight of the world on their shoulders find that maybe, just maybe, what they need most is someone by their side to help weather the storms.

The quick of it is that Bronte and her daughters have run from a bad situation. They've come cross country to the safety of her grandmother's home to regroup but instead of a warm embrace Bronte finds even more worries piled onto her shoulders, emotional strife with her daughters and an irresistibly tempting stranger who keeps crossing her path.

Hot dayum! This book was so damn good, yall. And my first Pick of the Litter for 2016. Yup. A 5 star read. Crazy rare around here but Loren kicked off her newest series. I couldn't resist more than one quote this week. Some funny, some scorching hot, some downright dirrrty and a little sweet too. Seriously this book had it all. Yum!

This first one just made me snort.

4 stars--Once Touched (Silver Creek #3) by Laura Moore

Whew boy! That's one pissed off grumbly ex-photojournalist-soon-to-be-a-cowboy! Okay so Ethan's come to Quinn's family ranch to basically hide out and heal after being seriously injured while on assignment in a war zone. He's hurt but determined to pull his weight and Quinn gets saddled with making him useful. *big exasperated sigh* She's a fixer though and, man, this guy needs some fixing...

3.5 stars--Secret Sisters by Jayne Ann Krentz

Mystery, romance, intrigue. Krentz rocks them all. Secret Sisters was everything I love about her books. Easy romances, strong characters and a mystery that kept me guessing. I fell in love with her books years ago--totally binged on them--and it was so fun getting back to the swing of it and falling in with her characters again.

The quick of it is that 18 years ago Madeline and her best friend went through hell. And the adults in their lives covered up a murder and then everyone dispersed. But now, 18 years later, someone has brought the dark secrets they all kept back to life and is coming after everyone who knew the secrets.

So a pretty new author but one that's quickly turning into a favorite. Jenna Sutton. This is based on a family that owns a huge jeans company. I just love them! It's fun and sexy and the setting is unique. Anywho. This one just cracked me up. I love a good shock the pants off someone quip so the heroine totally made me smile with this...

3.5 stars--Make Me Stay (Hope #5) by Jaci Burton

Oh how I love the worlds Jaci Burton creates! Scrumptious men, lovely heroines who can hold their own, cute pets, community and some sigh-worthy heat. It's just fun diving into their lives and spending time with them. Make Me Stay? All of that in one tasty package.

The quick of it is that Reid has come back home to renovate a historical building that he and his brothers saved from demolition. It's a dream job made even sweeter by the oh so tempting florist that works next door... but it's just a temporary thing before heading back to Boston where he owns a business.

One King's Way by Samantha Young & Ex-Con by Shiloh Walker/MS Parker

One King's Way (On Dublin Street #6.5)
by Samantha Young

Oh I do love Young and her men. One King's Way was a fun time as Craig --who is a total flirt and thinks one night stands are the perfect length for a relationship--gets knocked on his ass when a stunning women rocking 40s pin up girl style saunters into his bar and has him thinking maybe, just maybe he's ready to be a one-woman man. Too bad she's only there to get revenge on her sister's ex and isn't one bit wowed by his flirty ways.

Quote-tastic/Review--cut & chop--Tough Enough by M. Leighton

***Hey guys! I'm WAY behind on blog visits. I haven't forgotten yall. I have a sick herd babe and we've had a lot of extra driving to emergency vets and sleepless nights worrying over her. She's doing better (yay!) but I'm way behind. I'm gonna catch up hopefully over the next couple days***

Aaaaaand M. Leighton is my pick for this week's Quote-tastic. Love Michelle's books. This one pits a make up artist against an MMA fighter who's doing a guest appearance on the television show she works for. Ahhh. It was so good! Not sure why this quote tickled me so much but it had me giggling. Literally....

Sooo today is BIKERS! Joanna Wylde's Reaper's Fall. I've been dying for this one. I knew it was going to be a rough ride and sure enough it was but it was so damn fun too. Anywho. Two quotes today. This first one is before the hero and heroine got together and is between her and another of the bikers. They'd had a near moment the night before and it just cracked me up how he so bluntly spelled things out when they were all out at a Fair/Rodeo thing...

4 stars--Hard Beat (Driven, #7) by K Bromberg

holy fucking plot twist! whoa! Bromberg stunned me stupid. lol #noway #DidntSeeItComing

This was quite the experience! A war torn country. two journalists in the midst of it all. Danger, lust, the adrenaline rush. Hard Beat was one helluva ride!

My pick for today is The Exhibitionist by Tara Sue Me. It's a series that, for the most part, follows a now married couple and their BDSM relationship. They're full HEAs each time :) Anyways. I just love these two. The sweet moments, the hot ones, the funny ones. When they all come together in the same scene. It's a good time :) This first one just made me do a sappy smile...

#CountdownToChristmas: Hot Holiday Nights (Play-by-Play #10.5) by Jaci Burton

Hot dayum! Hot Holiday Nights brought the heat! Best way to spend Christmas vacation? A hot holiday fling with one very sexy younger man. How to make it even better? Add his older best friend into the mix.

Whew, boy! I was expecting hot, sexy, fun romance with a little Christmas spirit. I was NOT expecting a menage. <yes, yes, non blurb reading struck again lol> But oh it was a nice little treat that rocked so many of my favoritest things. Sports, Christmas, menage, sexy heroes and a strong heroine spending time in an exotic locale. Oh yeah. I was a happy happy reader-girl watching Victoria snag herself a couple hunky surfers during her holiday getaway to Hawaii.

Shannon Stacey today! Defending Hearts is out tomorrow and it's one I really enjoyed. Small town romance *sigh* Okay so the heroine in this one. Loved her. Gretchen is a bit on edge around the hero. She's a pretty tough cookie and change isn't easy for her exactly and, well, prickly happens...

1 star--Playing Hard to Master (Masters Unleashed, #2) by Sparrow Beckett

Playing Hard to Master was one of those books where I feel like I've read a completely different version than everyone else.

The quick of it is that Ambrose has gone in for a haircut and the stylist...totally catches his eye and in a slip of the tongue he finds out that she's just as kinky as he is. Woohoo! And he is in and the woo-ing is on!

While I liked a couple things there were just so many others that didn't work for me and they bothered me enough that I'm gonna break it down.
