3.5 stars--Extreme Honor (True Heroes #1) by Piper J. Drake

Light and easy romantic suspense with fantastic main characters and a fierce and troubled pooch. I had a good time with Extreme Honor. It could be a little predictable where the suspense was concerned but was easy, entertaining and hit the spot as dog trainers Lyn and David gave their all to helping a military pup overcome the loss of his handler and the traumas of was the still haunt him mentally and physically.

Ooooo Rebecca Zanetti! *grabby hands* I was crazy excited for a new series from Zanetti. The woman can write action and suspense like you wouldn't believe and a new world kicking off with a pretty badass cover and what amounts to a world-wide plague? I'm in!

3.5 stars-- Switchback by Catherine Anderson

Sooooo.... I was 8 years old when Switchback made it's original debut. Talk about a throwback! lol

And it was a fun throwback as Mallory and her daughter are targeted by a desperate criminal willing to do anything to retrieve a package he's sure her father-in-law has in his possession. Their only hope...a man name Mac who owes her father-in-law dearly and will do whatever it takes to protect them. Suspense, romance, a happily ever after...Switchback had it all.

The Characters

3.5 stars--Wilde at Heart (Wilde Security #3) by Tonya Burrows

The Wilde brothers are impossible to resist! Hot romance, sexy men and pulse pounding danger. I gobbled up Wilde at Heart and the luscious romantic whirlwind that was Reece and Shelby.

The quick of it is that Reece--who is all about order, precision and simplicity-- can't seem to get over his attraction to his soon to be sister-in-law Shelby--who is colorful, wild and chaos personified-- and when arson, blackmail and danger threaten both of them they do the only thing they can think of...join forces, get hitched and ride out the storm until they can figure out who is behind all of the attacks coming their way.

4 stars--Rough Edges (Edge #5) by Shannon K. Butcher

Non stop romantic-suspense goodness in one pretty little package. Oh yes. Rough Edges delivered all the goods!

The quick of it is that there's a bad guy in need of being taken down--same bad guy from previous books in the series--and it's come down to Bella and Victor who are going to do whatever it takes--including getting up close and personal with each other--to make sure it happens.

3 stars--Without Restraint (Southern Shield #1) by Angela Knight

So, Without Restraint caught me by surprise pretty much from page one since I don't read blurbs and was expecting scifi-ish something and walked right into an erotic BDSM romantic suspense! Um. Hello, flogger! lol I'm good with that though. I do love a bit of spice. And spice it had! A lot of sensitive issues brandied about as well.

The quick of it is that Frank and Alexis have kind of been hooked up by friends and decided to pursue their mutual kinky interests in BDSM together. Yay kink! There's an undeniable connection between them and one that's thrown into overdrive when tragedy strikes the local police department and they find their lives turned upside down not only with their new relationship but with being faced with a cop killer in their town as well.

4 stars--Energized (Tidewater #3) by Mary Behre

Woohoo! Now this is what you call stellar romantic suspense. Energized gave me all the tingles I was looking for starting with one hella sexy (and sometimes grumbly) Marine. *swoons* Romance, awesome characters, fan yourself sexy times and one heck of a surprise twist. Add in a dash of woo-woo (the heroine gets visions from touching objects) and some crazy creepy visions and, oh yea...awesome time. Loved it to bits.

Alright, so the quick of it is that Hannah has gone searching for her long lost sisters and the stars just happen to align exactly right bringing her back into the life of one sexy Marine she shared a scorchingly hot night with months earlier. Pretty much her life has just turned all topsy turvy and a little bit crazy too.

Bites & Nibbles-A Quickie Review-Harmonized by Mary Behre

Yay! *bounces up and down* I love this series from Behre so a little snackish novella to tide me over until the next full length...yes, please!  A bit of light suspense, a second chance romance, a little touch of heat and one seriously nom-ish cop. Mmmm. Yes. Harmonized hit all the right notes.

The quick of it is that years ago Karma and Zig had been an item and then she just...disappeared. But all these years later she walks into his squad room in desperate need of help. Her friend nearly died and everyone thinks her baby son was killed. But Karma--who can see auras--is sure he's out there and needs help finding him before it's too late.

Safe at Last (Slow Burn #3) by Maya Banks

The quick of it is that years ago Zack was in love but one day she just...disappeared. And he's spent 12 years searching for her and trying to survive the heartache of not knowing what happened to her. And now he's walked into a security job and recognizes a scene from a painting hanging on the wall. One only his lost love would have been able to paint. He's found her! Only Anna-Grace...is terrified of him and he'll be damned if he can figure out why. Add in a bit of drama from some bad guys, a little life or death and trying to figure out what happened all those years ago pretty much consumes Zack's life.

Ahhh Lora Leigh. So I love the Nauti Series. I read it ages ago but just now having space to post to the blog. I seriously hardcore loved this one. Older hero, fiercely determined heroine, yummy sex. A little action on the suspense side. Total book noms.

Shattered Duty (Deadly Ops #3) by Katie Reus

Shattered Duty totally made up for the lack of truly yummy Romantic-Suspense in my readery life as of late. It's one of those Rom-Suspense you can just fall into and get all wrapped up in--both the romance and the suspense--and then all the sudden you realize...dammit!...it's almost over! Nooooo!!!!!!!!

The quick of it is that the big bad is planning on doing...some big bad shit. And he needs to be taken down. Something the heroine is all for taking part in. Especially when this big bad is the one who destroyed another agent's life by murdering his wife and unborn child. An agent that's gone rogue to avenge their murders. And an agent she owes more than he realizes. Despite their different objectives...he just wants to flat out murder the sonofabitch and she's got to keep said sonofabitch alive long enough to prevent the big bad shit he's got planned...they've got to find a way to work together and pull everything off. Ahhhh dilemma

Yay! Jo Davis! I loved this one. It's a spin off of one of my favorite fire fighter series. This time following the town cops. And holyhell they are SEXY! I had 2 quotes again this week. This first one I just chuckled along with him. Totally made me smirk :) This is pretty early on after they've just met.

Soooo. This one's a little early since Total Surrender doesn't release until next week but I figured...it needed to be done. I just loved these two little exchanges. One of my favorite things about this series is that the guys are way over the top alpha. That's how they were made. But the women are tough as hell and aren't afraid to give the guys a piece of their mind or let it be known when they..are...pissed.

Damn! Zanetti totally rocks some romantic suspense! Blind Faith...heart pounding...jaw dropping...make a girl swoon romance. Basically. It's a must read and bound to keep you up way past your bedtime. And it's so damn worth the missed sleep as Nate and Audrey get a second chance at romance and fight to stay alive.

This series...just does me in. Walker has held me absolutely captivated as the dark and twisted secrets of this town and it's past unravel bit by bit and the monsters that lurk in it's midst are exposed and others finally find peace. Darker Than Desire was darkly intriguing--brutal, beautiful, heartbreaking and in the end incredibly touching as David and an entire town are thrown back into hell and fight their way to the truth, peace and justice.

• Oooos sexy fun! This was my first time venturing into the Section 8 series and gah, yeah, sexy good times *nods slowly* as a group of mercenaries throw themselves into danger to save and protect those in trouble. Romance, suspense, incredible chemistry...Fragmented really had it all. 

• Quick of it is that a bit back Jem kinda sorta kidnapped Drea (he's a good guy. Swear!) when he and his team desperately needed a doctor. And they got close but a mission went bad and she ended up hurt and losing her memory. Yeah. And now her life is in danger from a scummy ex that's trying to frame her for all kinds of nasty and she's got to put her trust in a team she "knows" but can't remember. It's intense and nerve-wracking and so so good.

In His Keeping (Slow Burn #2) by Maya Banks (@HarperCollins)

Sooo. In His Keeping. Romantic Suspense meets paranormal woo-woo. Yay! How fun is that?! I had a good time with In His Keeping as Ari's life is thrown into chaos after an attack exposes her psychic abilities and she's forced to turn to Beau and his security team for help in finding her parents who have been kidnapped and in keeping her alive and safe from those hunting her. It was exciting, entertaining and had me turning the pages pretty darn quickly. I was halfway through the book before I realized and had a double take over that. lol

Deadly, Calm, and Cold (The Collectors #2) by Susannah Sandlin

How far will ordinary people go to protect their secrets? The Collectors’ games are as much about manipulating lives as finding lost treasure. Everyone is expendable as the ruthless C7 pushes people into gambling with their lives in order to find priceless objects lost to history.

Something about Deadly, Calm and Cold just screamed out "Anna you must read me!!!!". And so I did... and yay I'm glad I listen to random book demands :) It was one of those books that was just easy to get in to with likable characters, light suspense and light romance. Plus, you know, sexy artist, a backdrop of the English countryside and a little danger as Sam and Brody hunt for a centuries old treasure, deal with blackmailers and a clock counting down until their time is up and their lives ruined by said blackmailer. Yep it was a pretty good time.

 A new to me author for today's Quote-tastic pick! Woots! Shannon K Butcher (she's married to Jim). I've wanted to read her for ages and finally got the chance and total love. These two--Mira and Adam--are kind of at odds in Edge of Betrayal. He did her way dirty in a previous book and she's not forgiven him totally but he's fallen for her and it's pretty close to mutual. This little scene so fit Adam and his thoughts. He's an interesting hero for sure.
