It seems I have a thing for rockstars. Getting a story with not only sexy rockstars but small town romance, meddling family members and wonderful characters? Yes, please! Lost Melody was a great read and kept me very entertained with writing that was as seductive as the music the band created.

The gist is that Melody--the child of a famous rockstar who passed away years ago-- has moved to this small town to hide out from the paparazzi that is hounding her over her father. Unfortunately the small town she picks? It has it's own claim to fame and a famous rockstar in it's midst too. A famous rockstar that sets his sights on getting to know her which is the last thing she wants since rockstars only break hearts and this one in particular will force her to confront her past...

Hank Travis? I. Loved. Him. He's a talented drummer, at the top of his career and most definitely a celebrity but he is so damn down to earth. He loves the excitement of his job but he loves his quiet home life on his farm in a small town just as much. I really liked getting to see both sides of him and that he was just...crafty at making sure he got time with the reluctant Melody. Did I mention sexy drummer?

I liked Melody as well. She's spent most of her life hiding from the media and has a lot of baggage to work through with guilt over her father's death, a connect between her father and Hank's musical career and hearing for years that musicians only bring heartache from her mother. I liked seeing her take charge of her life but did have an issue with how she went about it--pushing Hank away because she needed to 'do it on her own'. I would have rather seen her do so with Hank at her side or at least not taken months to figure it all out. The man had the patience of a saint.

The secondary characters were really great as well. The bits you see of the band while they create their next album, the small town, his father and her uncle. I loved the feel they brought to the pages. They're warm, they meddle, they're comforting. They're people you would want to be surrounded with. He and his bandmates love the gig but they love their families more and it really had me falling for all of them. Seeing them with the kids, wives, neighbors and dogs. You just can't help but smile over them.

There were so many things to love about Lost Melody. From the close community to the down to earth band to the hero that was just swoon-worthy and the seductive music. It just had a great feel to it and will definitely have me reading more from Maroney in the future.
