All About Romance Tropes: What are your favorite Fake Mate stories?
I love love love! the fake mates trope where hero and heroine are pretending to be a couple for whatever reason and end up falling for each other. It so makes me swoon and laugh and is just so much fun. I think one of the reasons is the fiery connection since so often they don't totally like each other when things begin.
Plus the whole denial thing. We will not be a real couple! This is just pretend!
And you're all pffft. Okay. lol
This was the first book where I had that OMG I love this trope! moment. Also the only one I read by her for some reason, I think. Huh!
Lemmon is always fun and whew she did this arranged marriage right!
She wants to keep her family's hotel, he kinda owns it and needs an image makeover. So a deal is struck!
This was interesting. Hero is trying to prove to his team (after leaving rehab) that he can handle real life and not relapse and kinda claims he has support on the home front in the form of a girl friend who will keep him on the straight and narrow. He, erm, doesn't. So has to convince his maid to be his pretend rock.
Safety dates to survive their friends wedding and all the MANY events leading up to it. This one had some pretty heavy bits to it, surprisingly.
This was sweet and made me cry as they pretend for his grandmom who doesn't have much time left.
A romance 10 years in the making and all it needed was a big nudge in the form of them both being in a jam and needing a little help out of them.
He puts his foot in his mouth while defending her and accidentally tells her family they're engaged even though..they don't know each other. lol
Heh a historical one! A scandalous heroine trying to escape the obnoxious media who wants to paint her in the most salacious of ways. Enter a sexy Scot with a perfect plan.
Hero in a panic over his match making mama kinda makes up a fake romance with the woman who's crushed on him since she was 14. Now to convince her. lol
Need to avoid your visiting grandmom poking into your non existent love life? Find yourself a fake husband. *nods*
This is one of my rare 5 star reads. I loved it. Sports hero in need of an image makeover and a proposition the heroine can't resist-- a huge donation to her charity...if she keeps from falling in love with him.
