Undeniable by Madeline Sheehan

Warning: This is not a typical love story. This is an all-consuming, soul-crushing, tear-your-heart-into-pieces story. It’s intense, gritty and raw, dark and disturbing, and it doesn’t happen overnight. This is an epic love story that knows no boundaries and has no time limits. It grows and develops—with hurt, sacrifice, and heartache—over the span of a lifetime.

Eva Fox is the princess of the Silver Demons Motorcycle Club. Growing up with bikers in the club lifestyle is all that she knows. When she’s a young girl, Eva meets the reason for her existence. Deuce West is the sexy, biker bad-ass of the Hell’s Horsemen Motorcycle Club. Like Eva, he was born and raised in the club—but that’s where the similarities end. Their first meeting is innocent, but as Eva matures into a woman, their chance reunions evolve into a fit of lust and love. Fate continues to bring them together time and time again, but their twisted journey is filled with pain, betrayal, and bloodshed that could tear them apart. Eva sees in Deuce what he cannot see in himself—a man worthy of love—and Eva spends her lifetime proving to him that her undeniable love is the one thing he can’t live without.

This is Eva and Deuce’s story.

It wasn’t easy.
Nothing worth doing ever is.
And love is worth everything.

Type: Dark Romance?
Heat: 3 out of 5
Rating: 5 out of 5

Fuck me. Yall this book was unlike anything I've ever read before. These are some majorly fucked up people doing some majorly fucked up things and hell if I know what it says about me but I fucking loved it.

Take the warning with this one seriously. This is not a romance for everyone. It's dark and gritty and incredibly twisted. It's not a pretty thing to watch, not even close. You'll hate the characters but at the same time love them in all their incredibly messed up glory. This is one that will push your buttons, make you uncomfortable and if you're like me completely rock your reading world.

** there will be some spoilers for things that I thought merited a warning or two-- just a heads up**

Sheehan did an incredible job of pulling me into the world of motorcycle clubs and the lives of Deuce and Eva. It's not prettied up or softened at all. Hell, it all starts out with the two of them visiting their fathers in prison and then Deuce putting a hit out on his dad and taking over the motorcycle club. Holy. Shit. Yall, this is the hero! Yeah. It's just drop your jaw intense and had me completely and utterly captivated the entire damn time. My eyes were probably as big as saucers for most of this book. LOL

Deuce and Eva grew up in motorcycle clubs surrounded by people that just don't live by the rules most of us would consider acceptable. And they completely embrace the lifestyle as adults. There's murder, whoring, cheating and a myriad of other illegal activities that are just expected in their world. All things that should have made me despise and hate these characters and yet I couldn't stop reading and hoping that they'd finally pull their shit together and stop fucking it all up and realize what they really wanted and needed. Not that that would magically make them good people, because seriously they're just not good people, but still I wanted to see them happy as strange as that is.

[**okay, just wanting to make myself absolutely clear on this one. This isn't like in your normal romance where the hero or heroine might do something a little morally questionable but they're doing it for the right reasons underneath it all. These men and women are flat out criminals. There's no greater good they're working towards. They may have a warped moral code amongst themselves but any way you look at it they're criminals.]

So, the book is basically the journey of Deuce and Eva over a couple of decades after they first meet. When she's 5 and he's 23. Yeah. There's an 18 year age difference going on here. And let me just say there are some really screwed up scenes when she's still a teenager that were pretty damn hot until it flashes through your mind and you remember that OMG she's still a minor and he's in his fucking 30s! Gah!! [But no worries- her daddy finds out and shoots him for it- yeah]

Thankfully most of the story takes place once Eva becomes legal so the age difference, for me at least, wasn't too big of an issue anymore. The two have an incredibly tangible chemistry together but their relationship is an absolute roller-coaster. When it's good, it's good. But, man, the bad times are excruciating. Deuce can be an absolute asshole, uber-alpha douche when he gets emotionally scared and there were quite a few times I really wanted to just twist his nuts until he saw colors. And Eva, because it's all she's ever know, she puts up with a lot of shit most women would never find acceptable or tolerable. And yet, I still wanted them together and loved all those good moments moments between them.
"Let's dance," she whispered.
"Okay," he whispered back because, fuck, he didn't know which way was up at the moment.
Those unfathomably plump lips split into a smile, and his cock freaked the fuck out. If she hadn't started leading him into the club, he would have thrown her up against the wall and slammed his way home.
While there are little bits of humor mixed in here and there this is a dark read as two very damaged souls finally make their way to each other against all the odds. They both go through things that can make for an emotionally hard read. There are forced sexual encounters (not by the hero) where the heroine is raped repeatedly, there's infidelity, there's multiple twisted and extremely unhealthy relationships and vast amounts of violence and coarse language. I stopped counting all the creative uses of the word fuck at around the 700 mark but honestly it suits them so the repetitiveness of it didn't fuckin' bother me. ;)

If you're looking for something intense and edgy that'll push you, hell, shove you out of your comfort zone Undeniable is it. Sheehan weaves together a romance that will leave you fascinated, horrified and craving more. And as one of my online friends, Sharon, who read the book as well put it...it'll also give you hope that if two such incredibly fucked up people can figure it all out and find love then we all have a chance. It's been a couple weeks since I read read Undeniable and I'm still floored by what I found with Eva and Deuce which has this one going down as one of my Picks of the Litter reads for 2013. I cannot wait to see what Sheehan brings to the table with the second book in the series that's due out later this year.

Alright, so are yall still with me? Wasn't TOO bad was it? lol

So, what say yall?
Have any of you read Sheehan? Or other dark romances? Think you'll give Deuce and Eva a try?
