Guest Post w/ Tracy March--It's all about the...cookies! + giveaway

*girly squee* Tracy March is joining us today with a fun cookie post. I read my first by her earlier this summer--The Practice Proposal--and just loved it. It got one of our very rare *Pick of the Litter* ratings of 5 stars! These romances stay on the sweeter side of things but the stories are wonderful and just make me smile so damn hard. Hope you'll give Tracy a huge welcome and leave her some comment love :)  Anna

Our Reviews:
Practice Proposal
Tempted in the Tropics
Nothing’s more important to Paige Ellerbee than her struggling bakery, Sweet Bee’s. When Lane Anderson, the temporary new doctor hot enough to rival McDreamy, moves in next door, though, she’s sure things are looking up. Until he threatens her business in their first conversation.

Lane just wants to practice medicine responsibly—not argue with the flighty bakery owner next door. But when he finds himself traveling down to the Caribbean to play guitar for Paige’s best friend’s wedding, suddenly the sight of the blonde in a bikini eclipses the fact they can’t agree on anything. And as their vacation romance grows, his reservations about starting something after getting burned by love are washed away like sand on the beach.

But once Paige and Lane land back home, will these polar opposites be able to forgive their feud and find lasting love?

Holiday Cookie Swap? What to Know Before You Go!

Tis the season for baking, and a favorite tradition for sharing goodies is the Holiday Cookie Swap. I recently hosted a Facebook event where we had a lot of fun with this post: You're invited to a holiday cookie swap. What kind of cookies will you bring, what kind do you hope to swap for, and what kind would you rather not take home? I got lots of surprising responses, and as an arguably challenged cookie-swapper (read on!), I figured I should share.

Get your Gladware ready because here’s what everyone’s bringing to the swap. Me: Girl Scout cookies, fresh from my freezer! I have no idea how they’ve survived in there, but thank goodness they have. They’re guaranteed to be better than any cookies I’d bake, and I’ll betcha someone will swap with me, figuring those odds.

Everyone else is bringing wonderful, fresh-baked (or no-bake) cookies, particularly of the chocolate variety. Triple Threat Chocolate, German Chocolate Thumbprints, Chocolate Crinkle, Pumpkin Chocolate, White Chocolate Macadamia Nut, and one person is showing up with good old-fashioned Chocolate Chip. There’ll be Almond Joy cookies, oatmeal, sugar, peanut butter (with and without Kisses—should that have gone under chocolate?), caramel pecan, praline, and Snickerdoodles. Yum-my!

But what does everyone want? Girl Scout cookies—LOL! Seriously, some people do! They’re also eager for peanut butter (with and without Kisses), pecan shortbread, lemon, sugar, cranberry, chocolate, coconut, gingerbread, Snickerdoodles, and lots of chocolate chip. Naughtier swappers are looking for “sinful” cookies to indulge in during the holidays.

No one wants to bring cookies that others don’t want, so here’s your foolproof guide to making sure you don’t. Please don’t bring anything with fruit—especially raisins (which got the big ick vote), nuts, coconut, peanut butter, gingerbread, oatmeal, mint, or CHOCOLATE! Seriously. But aren’t most of those what everyone wants? Uh oh. *scratches head*

So here’s what I learned that you need to know before you head to the holiday cookie swap. Your cookies may not please everyone. But don’t let that shake your Betty-Crocker confidence. Bake what makes you happy, because that’s what comes before holidays (during and afterward, too!). When in doubt, bring traditional chocolate chip (psst…they come pre-made). My super-unscientific survey said that four times as many cookie-swappers wanted chocolate chip than those who planned to bring them. As a last resort, check your freezer. There may be a couple boxes of Girl Scout cookies hiding in the back!

How about you? What kind of cookies would you bring, what kind would you hope to swap for, and what kind would you rather not take home? I’d love to add your comments to my “scientific” study! Also, register to WIN in my “Bling in the Holidays” giveaway. One lucky winner will receive a sparkly, stretch-band, one-size-fits-most ring. Good luck!

Wishing you the sweetest of holidays, and all the yummy cookies you can eat!
