Love at High Tide by Christi Barth

Darcy Trent is lucky Cooper Hudson is on hand to sweep her off her feet—literally—when she nearly drowns while swimming in the ocean. But life-saving aside, Mr. Perfect's timing stinks: Darcy's career is about to take her to the complete opposite side of the Atlantic. Still, a little summer loving with the tall, blond and sexy former cop is far too tempting to pass up.

When his plans to enter the Secret Service went south thanks to a bum knee, Coop retreated to the family beach house to mull his future. Romance is the last thing on his mind, until he fishes a curvy brunette out of the sea. Now, spending time in Darcy's arms seems like the ideal distraction, even if it is just for a week.

But with Darcy's departure date fast approaching and their careers on the line, can they realize in time that their beach fling might become the real thing?

Seriously, if all trips to the beach resulted in a Cooper Hudson my ass would be on it's way there right now. And I might never leave. He was such a cutie!

Love at High Tide was a really fun beachy read. It's a little flirty, a little sassy, filled with great characters that are just...likable. OoOoo. Almost put lickable there but damn yeah that applies too...

Coop and Darcy were a fun couple who meet when a rogue wave nearly topples her over during their beach vacations and they're just drawn to each other. They had some nice banter, touched on some serious things happening in their lives, heated up the sheets and really just fit each other nicely. They weren't over the top or too dramatic about their new found relationship and I thought ended up in the perfect spot for how long they'd known each other (just a matter of days). Barth did a great job turning a beach fling into something with a lot of future potential without making it unrealistic and throwing in the L-word too quickly. *loved that*

There's a lot of yummy sexual tension and foreplay in this one. Let me tell ya, the boy can freaking kiss. Holy cow. Almost better than the big event. LOL It was really a lot of fun watching them flirt and tease each other.
"We need a shower. Get rid of all this sand. Since it's summer, there's a drought."

Three hurricanes in the last three months along the Eastern seaboard kind of belied his statement. "Where?"

"Okay, not in Maryland, but I'm sure it's dry in Texas or somewhere. We should conserve water. Shower together." Without waiting for her to respond, he cranked on the water in the large, glassed-in shower.
There's a fun little bit of mystery involved too when Darcy's best friend spots something hinky going on with a fellow beach dweller and decides they need to figure things out. It's a nice entertaining side story that brought a little excitement to the pages. Her friend Trina is a real character. She's a bit of a wild spirit and gets them in all kinds of "oh my god" situations.

All in all I'm definitely a fan of Christi Barth. On a hotter than blazes day-- and trust me I don't do the heat and get cranky!--she kept me smiling and laughing and entertained as hell. If you're looking for a fun, flirty and sexy read go grab a copy.
