[Blog All About It] Art! Nail Polish Mugs

Blog All About It Challenge! This month's prompt was Art and I decided to finish up a post I'd started and  just never got around to posting. A couple years ago I was doing my nails all the time and started doing nail marbling. It's pretty neat. You use nail polish and water to make different designs.

And I decided to give it a try on mugs and vases.

[memes] I'm Going To Need One More Book, Please! + bookish happenings

I wanted to meme. And only had one weekly post to do it. So there's a whole lotta memeage happening in this post. You might have to scroll down a bit to get the one you're looking for. 😸

I've been bitten by the spring cleaning bug. It all started on the say we had 18 hours of rain. That...is a lot of hours of rain, yall. So I stayed in and cooked an amazing sweet potato chick pea stew and organized. Then had the food pantry which was super busy. Then decided I wasn't leaving the house again for a couple days. And I've been cleaning, purging, organizing. And realizing that I am every one of my 35.6 years. I think it was that last .1 that did me in. It was all sit ya ass down. You too old for this nonsense now. Holy cow but the bits. The bits cannot handle all the lifting and cleaning they used to handle. So we napped. lol

4 stars-- Disturbing His Peace (The Academy #3) by Tessa Bailey

Okay. So Tessa Bailey. :shivers: Love her books!

And I've been enjoying the heck out of this series that revolves around a police department and a group of recruits in training and one of their lieutenants.

Greer is a hardass, yall. And has a pretty dirty mouth. But, yall. Seriously. This one had me melting. Who could resist that?!!

4 stars-- Midnight Wolf (Shifters Unbound, #11) by Jennifer Ashley

Dammit! Ashley made me cry. I was totally holding my shit together and then page 313 (out of 314) got me. Blasted grumbly alpha males being all sweet and thoughtful. lol

I had a great time with Midnight Wolf! Ashley never fails at delivering a stellar shifter romance that'll leave a girl shivering in delight. Noms!
The Gist: Angus has been ordered--by the jerk authorities that monitor shifters-- to hunt down a wee female shifter. Fuckers actually stole his cub to force his hand. When he catches her? Well everything changes for both of them because he kinda sorta decides to keep her without even meaning to. So ensues a mad dash for safety, carnies, an abundance of hot broody sexy alpha males and a whole lot of steamy make your tummy flutter goodness. Mmhm. Oh! And cute little cubs, too.

3 stars-- Fearless in Texas (Texas Rodeo #4) by Kari Lynn Dell

Fearless in Texas. So, yeah. The hero... isn't a cowboy. And the book takes place... in Oregon. So, the cover is a bit special this time. Hot but, erm, yeah, okay. lol
The Gist: Melanie needs to escape town after shit hits the fan and winds up agreeing to put her professional skills to use saving Wyatt's floundering bar. The two have kind of been at odds but both needing each other in different ways agree to work together... for now.

5 stars [quotetastic] The Vixen and the Vet (A Modern Fairytale #1) by Katy Regnery

Whew. The Vixen and the Vet was just...everything. What a read!
The Gist: Savannah needs a career save. All she has to do is find a human interest piece that'll impress a newspaper editor. And that comes in the form of her broody neighbor... a severely disfigured war veteran who's become the town recluse. She gets a bit more than she bargained for when she meets Asher. That's for sure.

4 stars-- Falling Head Over Boots (Tender Heart Texas #2) by Katie Lane

Yall. This series! It's so fun. Basically the heroines all love the same book series but the author died decades earlier and her final book disappeared before it could be published. And they're on the hunt for that lost manuscript which has brought them to the dusty Texas town where the books were written and where the author's family-- with all it's infuriatingly sexy cowboys-- still live. Falling Head Over Boots was just a blast, yall.
The Gist: Carly screwed up her big city life as a chef and has found herself at the bottom of the barrel in a rundown town being talked into opening it's abandoned diner by her best friend. To make matters worse? The diner is owned by a cowboy who drives her fucking insane. He just can't seem to stop butting in and rescuing her, dammit! And he's not going to cooperate unless she agrees to move onto his ranch and be his personal chef. Mmhm. He wants food. Lots of it.

[tasty delights] Cheesy Baked Asparagus

You know you're getting old when you spot 99cent asparagus and you're like OMG!!! week made! lol Yes, asparagus was 99cents a pound this week and I bought...a lot of asparagus. Which meant trying new recipes. Woo!

Usually I use asparagus in pasta dishes. I love it that way. So yummy.

So I wanted to try something different this time. And the fates smiled on me because my friend Kelly shared this recipe on FB and, yep, that was it. I was making it. I was seriously making it.

3.5 stars-- Midnight Rescue (Killer Instincts #1) by Elle Kennedy

This series, yall, it's something. A band of female assassins heading off against a team of male mercenaries. And their bosses...who cannot stand one other. Damn inconvenient when their operatives start meeting and falling in love. Damn it all!
The Gist: Abby blew her cover. Got herself thrown in a torture chamber and well and truly fucked. But she had her reasons. 13 of them in fact--young girls about to be sold into sex slavery. She just needed to get close enough to them to mount a one woman rescue. Which got all blown to hell when her boss tapped a group of mercenaries to rescue her. Oy! Now they'll all have to figure a way to get back and save the young ladies before it's too late.

4 stars-- Holding Strong (Ultimate #2) by Lori Foster

Foster has been one of my favorites for years but I've gotten a bit behind on her books. *flails* But! I'm working on catching up and that included Holding Strong. Totally on my BloggerShame pile. Again, *flails* I had a fab time with it, though.

The Gist: Cherry has been wanting Denver for long as she can remember but the man is damn stubborn and resists all her ample charms. Until she flirts with another man one time too many and... he snaps. And, Cherry gets hers. Mmhm. Seems Devner's wanted her all this time, too, and there's only so much resisting a man can do. Woo! But a bit of drama from her childhood is about to put a damper on all their nekkid frolicking.

And So We Sing! A Little Hootie & Some Broken Halos

Taking a little break from books and herd to...sing a little.

I've been having trouble listening to audiobooks this last month or so and decided to start listening to more music to help me survive cleaning up after the herd. lol

Two fairly different ones today. One that makes me smile and one that most often gets me a little teared up.

[memes] Books I Loved But Will NEVER Re-read + new bookish things!

I wanted to meme. And only had one weekly post to do it. So there's a whole lotta memeage happening in this post. You might have to scroll down a bit to get the one you're looking for. 😸

It was another long-ish week. I stayed home pretty much the entire time since I have sick kitties. Both are doing better but yall know how it is. You hover. Can't really help it. lol

But I got a lot of blogging done because of it. I finished the Blog Ahead challenge a few days early and have gotten to 54 scheduled posts. All of April is finished and a good portion of May plus a few sprinkled until December. So I'm feeling pretty dang good on that front :)

[quotetastic] 4 stars-- Smiling Irish (The Summerhaven Trio #2) by Katy Regnery

Yes, more Katy Regnery! Yall I have been on a binge read of all her books. They're just so fun.

So two quotes today that both gave me a laugh.

3.5 stars-- Claim Me, Cowboy (Copper Ridge: Desire #4) by Maisey Yates

It's always nice spending time with the sexy semi-cowboys* of Cooper Ridge.
The Gist: Joshua's dad decided to take matters into his own hands and placed a "wife wanted" ad in the paper searching for the perfect lady for his son. And the son, well he found out and placed his own ad looking the most unsuitable lady to teach his daddy a lesson. The bedraggled waif of a woman and her baby who showed up on his doorstep...yup...they'll do nicely! They just need to make it convincing and keep it from backfiring on them... as these things do. lol

Buy The Book-- There are some fabulous sales!

Smiling Irish was fantastic. Claim Me, Cowboy and Fearless in Texas were okay.

Let me know if you grab anything!

The A to Z Challenge: Week One

I've participated in the A to Z challenge every April since I started blogging. I didn't sign up in time this year to get added to the list but I'm going to participate anyway but just a different way. lol Instead of a daily post since I really already blog daily I'm going to do a Sunday post and add to that post each day as new letters are revealed.

I'm going to go with random this year, too, instead of a theme. So it should be...interesting. Sooooo. That said....
