3.5 stars-- A Duke in the Night (The Devils of Dover, #1) by Kelly Bowen

Well hello yummy cover!

The Gist:

When his sister sneaks away in the middle of the night August figures he can just kill two birds with one stone-- hunt down his handful of a sister and suss out a new business opportunity. The school for young ladies where he finds her? Way more than meets the eye and quite possibly something that will change both of their lives forever.

3.5 stars-- Veiled Magic (Veiled Magic #1) by Deborah Blake

A new urban fantasy series by one of my favorite authors? Yes, please! Veiled Magic definitely caught my attention and was a fun time as a ragtag group of misfit paranormals are tasked with, well, saving the world.
The Gist: Donata's a bit bored at work. All her time is spent in the precinct basement and, well, she's ready to spread her wings as a cop and get out in the field. And then one minute you're talking to a dead man like normal and then ya find yourself stealing an enchanted painting with the help of two hunky yet damaged men and on the run from, well, everyone other than them. Yeah. Be careful what you wish for.

[Memes] Oooo Favorite Re-Reads?! And New Reads?!! Yas!!!!!

I wanted to meme. And only had one weekly post to do it. So there's a whole lotta memeage happening in this post. You might have to scroll down a bit to get the one you're looking for. 😸

Yall! It was an amazing week. Big news here. I started working at the food pantry. I'd put in for a volunteer spot and heard back and went in Wednesday for my first go through with it and I loved it. We had 3 regular clients come in and 4 emergency clients (that means they're in the process of applying for full benefits) come through. Everyone was friendly and had a great time. So that'll be my Wednesday afternoons from here out.

[QuoteTastic] 3 stars-- Test Drive (Body Shop Bad Boys #1) by Marie Harte

I do love when books have good solid friendships included. This was the heroine and her best friend having a little boy chat. Had me smirking...

Oh. Hero is a mechanic.

4 stars-- Smooth-Talking Cowboy (Gold Valley #1) by Maisey Yates

Hands down. You need some Yates in your life! Honest to goodness. The woman knows how to deliver one lickable cowboy.
The Gist: The only thing worse than being stranded on the side of the road with a flat tire? Being rescued by the man who drives you batshit insane and gets under your skin like no one else.
Trying times, yall. Trying times. But seeing as Olivia needs a hot guy to make her ex jealous and Luke needs help in buying a property he wants... a bargain is made. They'll both get what they want if they can survive 'dating' one another for just a little while.

1 star-- The Edge of Never (The Edge of Never #1) by J.A. Redmerski

Well, this was unfortunate. The Edge of Never has been sitting on my review pile since ,well, forever. And I finally dove in. And, yall. Ugh. It definitely landed on my "did I read a different book than everyone else" shelf.

The Gist: Camryn can't deal with her life so she's running away. Yup. Packed a bag and booked it to the bus station picking a random spot across country based on what the ticket agent was eating. And she meets a guy.

I wanted to meme. And only had one weekly post to do it. So there's a whole lotta memeage happening in this post. You might have to scroll down a bit to get the one you're looking for. 😸

Holy reading binge, yall! I read SO much this week. And, really, just had a great week overall. I got so much done around the house and online. Plus had my meeting with the food pantry. Once the scheduler gets back into town looks like I'll be working there Wednesdays which I'm excited about. I also got to have lunch with an author friend and her hubby who were in NC for the day. Made a couple really delicious new recipes. It was just a good week here.

[Quotetastic] 4 stars- Shot on Gold (Play-by-Play #14) by Jaci Burton

They eat. They skate. They fuck.

What's not to love? lol
The Gist: The Olympic Winter Games. A sheltered figure skater deciding to have a little fun for a change and setting her sights not only on winning a gold medal but snagging some sheet time with one of the hockey gods who's always the life of the party. Mmhm

4 stars-- Just To Be With You (Seattle Sullivans #4) by Bella Andre

Bella Andre is such a comfort read. Just to Be With You had some sexy, some sweet and as usual was just a good time spent reading.

The Gist: Tatiana's been smitten with Ian Sullivan since meeting him at a wedding. When she realizes she needs help figuring out an upcoming movie role she's all over asking the handsome CEO if she can shadow him for a little while. If she can convince him to fall madly in love with her, too? Even better!

4 stars-- More or Less a Marchioness (The Somerset Sisters #1) by Anna Bradley

Oh my goodness. These two were a delightful handful!
The Gist: The hero done fucked up. Fucked up right good. And found himself jilted. Not once. But twice. By the same girl! And man that'll get under a guy's skin. It sure will. He's gonna have to do something about it, too. To protect her from ruin, of course. Nothing else. He's absolutely not falling in love with the chit. No, ma'am!

[Memes] Kiss Me Like You *Mean* It! (plus new books)

I wanted to meme. And only had one weekly post to do it. So there's a whole lotta memeage happening in this post. You might have to scroll down a bit to get the one you're looking for. 😸

A slow one on the reading front this week. I've been doing house stuff and volunteer stuff and ignoring the blog stuff. lol Realized I've read 15 books this year and only reviewed, erm, 3 of them. Yeah. Yall. It's bad. lol Hopefully this weekend I can get myself all caught up and act grown for a change. ;)

This scene had me laughing because I was SO with the hero on this one. lol Big ol nope!

And fabulously fun. Anna Schmidt, too. And the Geissinger, again. Gah. The Paige Tyler, too. And Nancy Herkness.

4 stars-- Death Below Stairs (Kat Holloway Mysteries #1) by Jennifer Ashley

I just adore Jennifer Ashley's books and getting to jump into a new series? Yes, please!

Death Below Stairs was a fun adventure with a no nonsense cook and a squirly acquaintance who pull together a ragtag group of eccentrics to save the world! LOL Well, okay just a small part of it, but still!
The Gist: Kat has started a new job as a household cook and her first week? Well one of the young maids is murdered right in the house! While horrible it might be linked to an even more nefarious plot to take down the Queen herself. Unless Kat and her acquaintances can piece things together in time.

1.5 stars-- Luckiest Cowboy of All (happy, Texas #3) by Carolyn Brown

Luckiest Cowboy of All my ample white ass! This book made me so mad!

The Gist: Charlene's decided she needs roots and it's time to head back home 9 years after she packed up her bags and fled. Those 9 years? Well she's been hiding her daughter from the baby daddy. Now she's just hoping maybe he won't realize he's the daddy until she's ready to tell him.  Ugh!

3 stars-- Blood Oath (Laura Elliston/Sawbones #2) by Melissa Lenhardt

I'd heard good things about this series and was excited to dive into the gritty wild west adventure but in the end wasn't totally enamored by Blood Oath.
The Gist: Laura and Kindle are on the run. She's been accused of murder and he's abandoned his military post to help her escape and flee though the dangers of the frontier--battling harsh climates, nature, bounty hunters, outlaws and Indian attacks-- in search of a safe haven.

And So We Sing! Music I'm Loving!

I don't post music to the blog too often but thought I'd share some today. My music taste changed a LOT this past year. I got really tired of the attitudes/behavior in mainstream rock/pop and was just...done. And did something I never ever thought I'd do. I turned on some country music. lol

I actually found I like a good bit of modern country. It's a little less twangy, got a little more rock/pop mixed in. And I quite like that fusion. So some favorites as of late...

[Memes]-- Poor Unloved Books! *flails* Plus What I'm Reaing

I wanted to meme. And only had one weekly post to do it. So there's a whole lotta memeage happening in this post. You might have to scroll down a bit to get the one you're looking for. 😸

I didn't do too much reading or blogging this week. I've been restless after spending dang near all of Jan trapped in the house because of Mother Nature. lol So I've been doing other things. But still managed a few.

I heard from the food pantry. I go for an interview on the 15th! I wish it wasn't so far off but I'm excited :)

{Quote-tastic} 4 stars-- Sin With Me (Bad Habit #3) by J.T. Geissinger

Soooo. Yeah. I may be obsessed with this series. Lordy! So much sexy goodness.

Today's Quote-tastic. Yall. I was rolling! Everyone-- the band, the girlfriends, bodyguard, etc-- is hanging out in the waiting room at the hospital while their friends have a baby and this. Omg this...
