Oh how very lick-able! The cover, the story and Vince! Hard Justice was all kinds of romantic suspense goodness with a side of sexy alpha male.

The Gist: When women start disappearing in her home town Charlie is hell bent on finding them before they're lost to human trafficking. She knows the danger first hand and can't sit by and do nothing. If she has to work with her oh-so-irritating teammate Vince and infiltrate a sex club? So be it!

I've totally fallen in love with Yates' books the past couple years. She's a drop everything and read author for me. This one. Lordy. It got me.

First some funnies. Alex is the hero. And he's brought his heroine to family dinner. She's 10 years younger than him and only 21. Violet is his 16 year old-- angry at the world and snarky-- niece. OMG yall. She had me rolling. I am going to LOVE her book one day. *crosses fingers she gets a book*

Okay. So life update real quick. Yall saw my eye post this week. Still struggling with computer time. And the time I do spend is on author stuff or the auction which starts later today. Once that's live I'll hopefully finally get to do some blog visits. Reading is like next to none right now, too. Ahhhh, yall! lol Other than that. Life is life and not horrid. I'm going to eat a lot of birthday cookie cake today. I got it on sale for 1.99 (down from 13) with my coupons. lol Makes turning 35 tomorrow not quite as bad :)

My eyes! MY EYES!! Where I've Been + Upcoming News!

Hey guys! Now that I have a bit of an answer I thought I'd update yall on a few things.

The last few weeks I've been scarce around the blogisphere. I've had posts going live (yay blog ahead!) and replied to comments but blog visits and social media have been hit or miss. For a couple reasons. But the main one was my eyes. They've been giving me one hell of a time lately. Which resulted in this lovely picture over on the right. lol

Soooooo. Blogger Shame. Yes. The Escape Diaries landed on my review pile in, erm, 2013? And I'm just finishing it. LOL Oops!

The Escape Diaries is a madcap romp as Mazie--convicted of murdering her husband-- escapes prison during a tornado and leads the FBI and a slew of bad guys on a week long chase--picking up a motley crew of helpers (and a fan club) set on proving her innocence.

As you read I'm in South Carolina! Oooo! Yes, mom and Oma decided to drive up and I decided to drive down so we could watch the eclipse together. We're supposed to get almost 2 minutes of complete dark. But the more exciting bit is getting to see them. It's been a year and 2 months since I saw them last. Jake the dog came, too! (he even has eclipse glasses). Internet is limited so I'l be offline mostly other than wee hours when they're asleep most likely. But come by, visit, check out posts. *I read this one ages ago and it's been sitting in my drafts folder for like 2, 3 years. lol Figured it was time to post it. 

Erotica with a side of danger and suspense. Woohoo! Two of my favorite things to get my heart racing. <winks> Cocked & Loaded was my first from Holt and it was a pretty good time full of sexy suspense and a second chance romance. I do love those.

3.5 stars-- Goofy Newfies by Ann Omasta

Look at that cover! Adorable! Goofy Newfies was fun, too, as Lily-- our newly widowed and crotchety heroine-- meets her match in a wiggly little newfie escape artist and his hunky foster daddy who is trying to find homes for the herd of darling little puppies.

4 stars-- To Love a Texas Ranger (Men of Legend #1) by Linda Broday

Soo. Yall know I don't read blurbs. And for a while I kept thinking oh please be a menage!

Yall. It's been a week. So a while back Mary over at Dark Thoughts shared about Degusta boxes. I was like yes, yes, I need to check this out! She is SO good at convincing me I need to try things new things. lol

Basically once a month you're sent a box of random goodies to try. From candy to sauces to cookies and pasta. It's really rather fun seeing what they'll include. Thought I'd share some of the things here!

A couple really quick reviews for today! Both of these were freebies and ones I read a couple years back but just haven't published the reviews. I suck. I know. lol They were both fun tastes of the series they kick off and the authors-- both of which were new to me at the time. I read my first Tessa Dare!! Yall! I'd been SO nervous! Everyone loves her and I was all panicky that I'd be the odd girl out. lol I needn't have worried. Say Yes to the Marquess was delightful!

The Gist? Clio's fiance has strung her along for 8 long years while he travels the world. She's damn tired of waiting and ready to take matters into her own hands. Namely...breaking their engagement. She just needs is his brother--who's managing things-- to sign some papers. Blast the man. He thinks she should plan the wedding instead and jumps in to help do just that.

Okay! An update first. This has been a long week. Busy with regular stuff but I'm also getting ready for my first vacation in over a year and with the herd that takes a LOT of time. The Support the Troops Auction is fast approaching. And, I've been having an eye issue. Gah! More on that in the pics! But it's all basically meant a lot less of online time this week and falling way behind on visits. I miss everyone and will try to get around soon :)

Oh yeah. I love me some Tara Sue Me. She writes such yummy erotic romance and bdsm.

So. The Flirtation. Totally flirty and sexy. I really liked the hero in this one. And that it touched on some bdsm issues like trust and when it's broken.

A Little Update: 

It's still hot. It's still humid. It's still making me feel stabby! Other than that I'm working on the Support the Troops auction this week-- if you'd like to donate a book click HERE. 

And I'm working on cleaning out our dining room so I can buy a freezer. The dining room is NEVER used so I figure I'll make it do some work for a change.

Tasty Delights-- Israeli Salad

Yall know I've been doing the HelloFresh meals. Now I'm trying out Green Chef. Jessica Lemmon turned me on to them because of their vegetarian/vegan options and I figured...why not?!

And it was pretty good. A similar set up to the HelloFresh but good.

The first box I tried was the Israeli Salad. Now, this is NOT something I would typically be pulled towards. I'm just not a huge fan of this type of cuisine but it turned out pretty tasty. It was fairly easy as well. I'm glad I gave it a go though I don't know that I'd make it again but that's just personal preference.

Money Matters-- Rebate Apps! Woots! #FreeMoney

Last month I talked about doing a #NoSpendJune and how that went. I've been continuing my financial overhaul during July. Doing little tweaks here and there and trying out new things to save some money.

This time I'm talking Rebate Apps. Holy cow, yall! How could I have not tried these sooner! All that wasted money. *hangs head*

2 stars-- Once Burned (Night Prince #1) by Jeaniene Frost

*flails of reader girl sadness* Pretty much everyone else loves this spin off series. But, yall. I was so disappointed.

I was all over the Night Huntress series and all about Vlad when he'd show up there so him having his own series? Oh. My. Gosh. I was so damn tickled and excited. But, Once Burned, left me wondering what the hell had happened to Vlad and if I'd read a different book than everyone else. Bummer.

4 stars-- Knight on the Texas Plains (Texas Heroes #1) by Linda Broday

Well I'll be adding more of Linda Broday's books to my wishlist. Knight on the Texas Plains... total book goodness.

The Gist: Since his wife's death Duel has given up on life. He's got nothing to live for until one night changes everything and his hands are suddenly full of a whole heap of female he needs to pull his shit together for--a tiny baby girl no one wants and an injured woman with secrets to hide. His only plan? Head back to his family ranch and start trying to heal not just himself but two women who are just as broken and wounded as he is and counting on him.

4 stars-- Ash and Quill (The Great Library #3) by Rachel Caine

Yall. This series. It's so damn unique and seriously addicting! Ash and Quill was a non-stop gritty adventure! I've loved dang near every second as Jess and friends began training with the Library-- who's mission is to protect books at ANY cost (including death)-- and slowly realize that it isn't really a force of good anymore and set about taking the Library down.

So what made Ash and Quill awesome?
