The Monthly Herd-- July 2017-- It was So. Dang. Hot.

This month. It was SO hot here. Like make a girl crabby and snarky hot. I'm so glad to say goodbye to July! lol Nothing bad happened just a lot of little stuff to keep on top of and work on. So it was busy and has me ready for a nap.

{Memes} New Reads-- baby blogger me -- Whiskey & Weddings!

I wanted to meme. And only had one weekly post to do it. So there's a whole lotta meme-age happening in this post. You might have to scroll down a bit to get the one you're looking for. 😸

It's been a LONG week! I'm behind on blog visits but catching up today hopefully. But maybe not. The weather is FINALLY not Kill Me, Hot so I might spend the day trying to work in the yard. Ack! Anywho. On to the memes...

How Do You Organize Your Books?

How Do You Organize Your Books?

I have a LOT of print books and right now I'm in the process of changing my system! Eek!
It got me thinking and figured this would be a fun post.

3 stars-- Sold to the Shiekh (Club Volare #1) by Chloe Cox

Sold to the Sheikh was an entertaining read, though, damn it had me chanting 'fuck her fuck her fuck her' more than once. There was a hell of a lot of foreplay as Sheikh Bashir and Stella spend a weekend in kinky exploits at Club Volare after he literally buys her time and the privilege of being with him.

InstaWed-- Cats. ALL THE CATS!

Here's what we've been up to the last couple weeks...

Human. It is BabyG time.

New Releases, Sales & Freebies

*gasp* I've only read one of this week's releases-- Savaged Vows-- which is by one of the authors I work for. You should totally grab the series! lol

I have my eye on the Joan Johnston and Sophie Jordan, though. And Ilona Andrews once I get that series going. Some other good deals, too.

Let me know if you grab anything!

4 stars-- Savaged Vows (Savaged Illusions Trilogy #2) by Jennifer Lyon #QuoteTastic

First off! I actually work for Jennifer Lyon. I don't usually read Jen's books now that I work for her but something about this series drew me in so I decided to sneaky read it without telling her. Bwhahahaha
I had a good laugh at this quote. Plus it's steamy. And maybe a little sweet, too. These two have been together for a while and he's a rock star now and having to be gone on the road. So a little reunion of sorts :)

Memes! New Books, Adaptations, Waiting on Wednesday!

There's a whole slew of memes in this post so you might have to scroll down just a little to get to the one you're looking for. 😸

Oh my gosh. It is so freaking hot yall. It's MISERABLE in the south. We did finally have rain tonight. Yay! We've had a total of .79 inches of rain for all of July. And it all fell within one hour tonight. smh It's been brutal.

Lots of house stuff. Lots of blog stuff. Lots of authorly work stuff. It's been busy and I'm ready for like 8 naps in a row. lol But first...we meme!

Tasty Delights-- Herb Couscous Patties #FancyAsHell #ButDelicious

This is a dish I NEVER would have made on my own. NEVER, yall.

But! It turned out to be surprisingly good. This was a GreenChef meal. They're like the HelloFresh ones I do. And a little more...foodie? I guess. Not quite the family comfort food that HelloFresh so often does.

Anywho. So this time it was Herb Couscous Patties. Sounds pretty good. I'm a fan of couscous, really. The odd part was the sauce. I'd originally thought it was a tomato sauce from the little web picture preview when I selected meals. It...was not.

"You Wouldn't Like It. It's Not YOUR Kind Of Book"

So I'm gonna have a wee rant today. One I've been contemplating for a good long while and decided to get off my chest! lol
Them: *looks at new release* You wouldn't like this book. It's not your kind of read. It's not erotica.

Me: <stares in silence>

Me: Bitch, please. I read that years before you knew it existed.

4 stars-- Bled Dry (Vegas Vampires #3) by Erin McCarthy

I absolutely adore every glorious, silly, cheeky second of this series from Erin McCarthy.

Bled Dry is the story of Brittany and Corbin who are just adorable and have found themselves rather knocked up since apparently vampire sperm...is good to go!

4 stars-- Wrecked by J.B. Salsbury

Oh. My. Word. So about 2 pages into Wrecked I was like oh hell. This one is going to make me sob. And...it did. But it also made me laugh so hard it hurt. Swoon a little. And fall completely for Sawyer and Aden. And, okay, maybe Salsbury, too. Wrecked was one heck of a yummy read.

Especially since it's book #5 and I haven't read the others. Erms. But there he sat all smoldering at me. So I snapped up up and gave him a read and had a fab time. Woo!

So. Ben. Ben is an awesome hero, yall. So damn sweet. I thought both of these were pretty dang cute quotes.

Memes! New Books, Toxic Reads, and Waiting on Wednesday!

There's a whole slew of memes in this post so you might have to scroll down just a little to get to the one you're looking for. 😸

Eeee! I've become a book fiend this last couple weeks. I'm all I NEED ALL THE BOOKS! lol It's been hot and muggy here. Pretty much turns me worthless. lol I have been working in the yard this week. It's exhausting but getting better out there at least. Whew! Other than that life has been quiet which I'll take!

Life Reboot-- Triangle Shooting Academy!

Last year I started a Life Reboot. I'd gotten in a rut and needed to break out of it. Some house projects, some health projects, some get-me-out-the-house-and-try-new-things projects. And I'm having a blast with it!

Whoa! It's been a LONG time since I've done a Life Reboot post. This past June I knocked one thing off my list. I went to the Shooting Range!

I've been wanting to do this for ages! One night a radio ad came on about a local place that has a women's basic handgun class. All women class and a female instructor. I thought that would be a great place to start!

3.5 stars-- From Duke Till Dawn (The London Underground #1) by Eva Leigh

So dang pretty! And a fun read, too. From Duke Till Dawn was...intriguing.

The Gist:  A couple years back Cassandra, well, she swindled our dear proper Duke then dashed away in the middle of the night with him none the wiser. He's never forgotten the sexy widow and when he stumbles on her in a random gaming hell he's thinking luck is on his side again! Until he realizes he'd been a mark all those years ago. Talk about an ego blow! Damn if he doesn't want in her swindling naughty girl historical panties, though. And she might just want that, too!

Planner Girl 101: What Kind of Planner is THAT?!

Yall know I'm a bit addicted to my planner.
I get asked all the time what I use and how I do my layouts so I thought I'd start a new feature... Planner Girl 101.

First up? What Kind of Planner Is That?!

InstaWednesday-- G, July & Sexy Reads

Because I love Instagram and sharing what we've been up to the last couple weeks...

I'm working my back into instagram. Bujo-ing and practicing my lettering again. I kind of took a break from everything the last few weeks.

Had a nice Independence Day and kick off to July. The herd wasn't bothered by the fireworks at all. They just snoozed all the way through it.

4 stars-- Paper and Fire (The Great Library #2) by Rachel Caine #QuoteTastic

Rachel Caine. Yall I've been hooked on her since my early reading years and this new series revolving around books and an all powerful Library that teeters between good and evil? I was in! And holy cow this series. It's crazy good.

Today's quote. This is Jess (the main character) and his friend Glain who is a fello student/trainee. She's a soldier and maybe a little scary sometimes. thought this was a funny moment between them.

Memes! Memes! New Books, Eats&Reads , and Waiting on Wednesday!

I combine a few memes in this post so you might have to scroll down just a little to get to the one you're looking for!

July is going so fast! It's been a pretty good week. Nothing major happened which was nice for a change. Just relaxed, worked a bit, blogged a bit. Started working on the charity auction I'm hosting (if you'd like to donate an item let me know! It benefits the USO) and getting ready for a trip to see my family in August. So not bad at all.

Well on the book front I was WAY bad. lol

3 stars-- A Princess in Maine (McCullagh Inn #3) by Jen McLaughlin

A Princess in Maine was a cute little catch up with newlyweds, Chelsea and Jeremy, who run the McCullagh Inn in Maine.

This time...they're planning a wedding that will put their little Inn on the map. A royal wedding at that! The clock is ticking, though, with only two months to plan the entire wedding and doing so...in complete secrecy. Woo!

4 stars--The Outlaw (Where the Trail Ends #3) by Anna Schmidt

The Outlaw was everything I love about Schmidt's book-- a little danger, a little intrigue, characters that feel real and are endearing even in their flaws. The heart and will to endure, flourish and go after what you really want in life. They're just fantastic reads that'll sweep you away and into the lives of the characters she brings to life. Honestly, Schmidt never fails to deliver a knock out romance.

The quick of The Outlaw is that Amanda has been craving adventure and she's finally getting her chance to spread her wings and do something different-- moving to Tuscon and teaching. She might be going into that second bit reluctantly but adventure is calling her something fierce. And the temptation of one of her fellow boarders--who might be on the wrong side of the law-- is just as alluring.

4 stars--Savaged Dreams (Savaged Illusions Trilogy #1) by Jennifer Lyon

Sooooo. First off. I'm Jen's assistant. But she didn't know I was planning on reading Savaged Dreams. I kinda just...did. Yes. I sneaky read it. lol

And I enjoyed it quite a bit. Sexy rockstars, a fiery-fierce heroine, the drama of an up and coming rock band. It was an exciting read and had me pretty glued to my e-reader all weekend.

4 stars-- To Kiss a Kilted Warrior (Claimed by the Highlander #3) by Rowan Keats #QuoteTastic

Highlanders!!! nom nom nom!

I read To Kiss A Kilted Warrior way back in 2014. And then promptly forgot to review it. *hangs head* And so it's sat on my NetGalley shelf since then. Figured it was time to give it a re-read And...so so good! Loved it just as much the second go round.  I enjoyed the hero and heroine together. They're really rather funny. Wulf gave me a giggle in this one...

Tasty Delights-- Brown Rice Bibimbap

Bibimbap. Yall. I'm having the hardest time typing and saying this one. But it sure was tasty! And very easy to make, too!

This was another HelloFresh box. I really am enjoying them and trying new things. I've had all the ingredients in this one but never together like this. Bibimbap is a Korean rice bowl with veggies. Perfect for me!

Mid Year Goal/Challenge Check In!

Since we're halfway through the year it was time for a check in! I figured I'd include both my blog/reading challenges and my resolutions update from back in Jan, too!

These are the reading challenges I'm participating in.
I included links to each of the challenges, this is just my personal "hey, this is how I'm doing" post so I can link it up other places. :D

Money Matters: #NoSpendJune

End of May I was looking at my finance and was like whoa and a side of holy shit! I have been spending money like it's water!

Thankfully I didn't spend above my means the first five months of 2017 but I like to live well below my means and I was NOT doing that. My one-click finger was in need of a time out. So I declared that #NoSpendJune would be a thing!
