The Monthly Herd-- May-- The Month I Hated

I won't even lie. May was pretty dreadful here. After losing Cleo at the end of April I pretty much fell apart. She'd been my baby for 15 years and the past year and a half pretty much revolved around her. She was just such a girl and losing her after two others this year was just too much and I crumbled.

[memes] Best Books of the Last Decade + my week in books

Wow it was a busy week and freaking HOT!

I had the food pantry which went well. Busy and my regular shift mate was out of town but one of his friends came to lend a hand so I wasn't alone which was nice.

I did a LOT of garden watering and that's about it. It hasn't rained more than a fifth of an inch this month and it's been in the 90s all week. We're supposed to hit 97/98 later this week. Yall. I can't. lol

4 stars-- Rock Hard (Rock Kiss #2) by Nalini Singh

Yall. This series. It's so dang good!
The Gist: Charlie's new boss is a growly beast. Which scares the hell out of her after surviving a brutal attack. She's not backing down, though. Even when the sexy CEO starts mercilessly flirting with her. She will not be tempted. Will. Not. She just wants to quietly do her job and stay invisible. She absolutely does not want to lick him all over. Nope.

3.5 stars-- The Rancher's Baby (Texas Cattleman's Club: The Impostor #1) by Maisey Yates

I've loved Yates for a while but not ventured into too many books outside of her Copper Ridge series. I saw The Rancher's Baby and loved the cover and figured why the heck not? It was pretty fun, too!
The Gist: Well. Your dead ex-husband walking into his funeral...that's a surprise you don't get every day. Your best friend sticking around to help you through the shock and, well, maybe finally stripping you naked and doing naughty things with you like you've always wanted....quite a delightful surprise as well!

[memes] Don't Touch My Books! + my week in books

Well we survived the week. It is already getting brutal hot here. My poor little garden isn't any happier about it than I am. lol Mid 90s is just so darn rude for mid May.

Not too much else. Food pantry was fairly busy and the USO went well this past week. It was good to see my USO people. They always shore up my spirits.

I read a bit and worked in the yard. Tossed stuff. So good things.

[QuoteTastic] 4 stars-- Spring Texas Bride (Brides of Bliss Texas #1) by Katie Lane

I adore Katie Lane. The books are always so dang fun! Today's quote really has nothing to do with the story or the main characters but dang if I've ever related to something more in my life...

[memes] Please Don't Make It A Movie + my week in books

So the exciting stuff this week was I finally made it to 100% on Netgalley! It took me 3 years to fix the mess I made but I finally did it. I'm really quite proud of myself for buckling down and for stopping with all the excuses why I couldn't.

{memes} me in books + my week in books

I took this past week off. I just needed time to recover and lick my wounds. I'm still just barely on social media again and will get back to the pantry/USO this week. I skipped both last week. I just couldn't be around people. Mostly I'm cleaning and purging and gardening. And sleeping a lot once I can get my brain to stop long enough. The herd babies are giving me lots of love and letting me snuggle them which is helping.
