Follow Friday! Longest Reads?

Q: What is the longest book you’ve read? What are your favorite 600+ page reads?

A: You know, I didn't think I'd read any 600+ page books but Goodreads begs to differ. Actually read 7. Huh! Most of those weren't all that great unfortunately.

The only one I would say was really excellent would be Sherrilyn Kenyon's Acheron (722). It was such a sad book and explained so much about one of my favorite characters. I think Acheron was the first character I actually hurt for when I was reading their story and one of the most tortured heroes. Kenyon did an amazing job and definitely did him justice. Being the 15th book in the series and very anticipated by fans I thought she pulled it off with flying colors.

the others from favorite to least...

Stray (618) by Rachel Vincent
Narcissus in Chains (644) by Laurell K Hamilton
Incubus Dreams (752) by Laurell K Hamilton
Lover Mine (656) by JR Ward
Eclipse (629) by Stephanie Meyer
Breaking Dawn (768) by Stephanie Meyer

So what about yall? What's the longest book you've read?

  3. I read the first book in Kenyon's series but haven't been able to get going to the next! There are just too many books to read and not nearly enough time!

    1. Right? I flew through this book. Was a little intimidating when I picked it up but doesn't seem long at all while you're reading.

  7. I haven't read any of Sherrilyn Kenyon's books, but the longest and least favorite book, I ever read was Shogun by James Clavell. First 500 Pages, would try anybody. Once you managed to make it past that part,it was very, very good(it was a really long book).

    1. "First 500 pages would try anybody" Oh my. That sent me into a total giggle. That's some dedication to get through 500 pages before it gets good!

  8. You don't know the half of it. I'd put it down for a long time, right when they got shipped wreck. Couldn't read it anymore.

Then it came on tv, and adventurous me(or stupid depending on how you look at it) decided I'd give it a try again, picked up where I'd left off. That was a mistake.

Well, at least, until I made it to page 600 or so and that was half way in the book!Took me at least 5 years to finish it,starting and stopping, but finish it I did.
    (That book was wordy!Oh my!)

The funniest thing is, the next book in the series "Taipan" took me three days (it was very funny) and "Nobel House" a week."

  9. If you consider the fact that the version of The Lord of The Rings I read was the one that’s one book with the 3 parts inside (1202 pages in the brazilian version), that would be the longest book I’ve ever read. But if you consider series to favorite 600+ page reads, hands down, Harry Potter. Not so much for the story, but for the feeling it brings me every time I think about it.

    I'm a new follower, btw!
