If you have kitties you know how they are with trees...

Okay. This may be the cutest thing ever. Love big cats!

I'm a STAR!!

This would so be my herd. Love that little scrunched up nose!

Cuteness! Do your kitties play "tree ornament"? Ever knocked down the tree?

Mine are pretty good about it but no Christmas Tree skirts here. Someone always feels the need to stake their claim and mamma gets tired of washing that thing ;)

Happy Almost Christmas! Hope all your herds behave ;)

While yall are here feel free to enter our Authors for the Holidays event! It's going on all month and there's TONS of giveaways going :)

  1. ^^ mine was a little to happy to play with the ornaments yes but i've got a solution ( one i had with my dog already since he is the older one)

once i place the tree and the gifts under it, there are some for the cat and dogs too ( they know which one^^;;) i start what i call the red cross calendar. ( depending when i manage to put the tree it can last 5/10days or how many days are left) and i put a sheet with the date on it, one for the cat and one for the dog i put them on the fridge just before giving them their meal and i reexplain : they have a number of red cross hallowed ( number depend on how many days there is) generally is 3 i show them the big red pen if they misbehavbe they got a red cross it there are 3 ( or the limit they were given) no gifts! ^^

sionce i did that as soon as the cat is starting to think about a fault or anything the dog barks madly at himm and the cat go back to his bed ( or anywhere far from what he intended to do) ^^^it too cute oki generally it works better after the first red cross when they see i'm serious but hey no problem for 3years in a row with teh tree or ornemaent, no gifts eaten, destryed or anything

  3. I don't have cats myself because my mother lives with us and is severely allergic. But My best friend who lives 2 houses down has a wonderful cat that I secretly call mine :-P
He is great! Tho he does love knocking down the tree on occasion and pulling our balls of yarn while we crochet.

I have no idea how to post a picture in this comment so here is a link to Bachi! http://imgur.com/AoLho

    1. Oh he's handsome Penni! He sounds like a cute boy. I've been learning to knit and mine love the yarn balls too. LOL.

Love that he's secretly yours. LOL. We've had kitties like that in the past too!

Hope he behaves this year and leaves that tree alone :)

    2. No such luck! lol Only one short week of having the tree up and he's already hidden in it, and while trying to get down the tree came with him! He streaked acros the room cause it scared him.....trailing the garland with him, unraveling the tree lmao My friend put the tree on a table and put a smaller one in his playroom hoping to deter him next time.

  4. I have one that waits till you got to bed and you can hear the balls being knocked off the tree. Also this year I have strands of garland that cute tiger kitty has that every morning are pulled this way and that way. My tree once looked perfect but; now is kind of in disheavled. LOL. I can't prove it but; the branches look like they have been sat on too(it's a fake one). The big cats are loving those trees. That was so cute.

  6. All my kitties love the tree. We got new kittens in October of 1992, at that time we put up 2 trees. An artificial tree in the basement and a live one in the living room. After getting the tree assembled and I was starting to put the ornaments on, I got a big scare! I reached for a branch, and the little calico had climbed up the inside and peered out at me like Hi!! look what I can do. When the live tree went up, they drank the water! One kitty only played with the branches she could reach on the bottom, but Freckles, oh no she had to climb to the top. She was covered in sap. We put ornaments on the bottom branches that wouldn't be destroyed by to kitty babies. Our couch, reclines on both ends so the footstool part is real close to the tree. Can you guess where I'm going with this? Freckles jumped up on the footstool and you could just see her get all excited when she discovered that she could see more of the tree from there. One night she kinda just launched herself into the branches. LOL!!! She's 20 now and this year, she just doesn't have the energy to play. She walks around the tree a few times, but she's not interested in playing with any of the ornaments at all. They have never knocked the tree over though, real or artificial.

I really enjoyed watching those big cats love on those trees. It brought tears to my eyes.

    1. They're just so cute! We still do a real one here and oh the girlies love the ornaments. I had to opt for the shatter-proof ones that bounce for the bottom half of the tree. LOL.

Hope you and Miss Melody have a wonderful Christmas!

  10. I love that video. My kitty is a bit old to worry about playing with the xmas tree, but she does play with things occasionally. Recently she was playing with an elastic from my hair. She made it fling using her teeth and claws. Pretty funny as she ended up frightening herself.
