Guest Post w/ Regina Cole + giveaway! (open INT)

Welcome back to Authors for the Holidays!

We've got Ms Regina Cole joining us today with a fabulous guest post about erotica and the holidays plus and an amazing giveaway so definitely check that out.

Gotta say I'm LOVING Regina's thoughts on erotica! And whew, look at these books?! I've read Dear Addi and holy hell it's scorching hot and utterly delicious!

Indelibly Intimate...

Quinn LaBrea got ditched. Her jerkwad ex-boyfriend trashed her credit and left behind a mountain of debt. Worse, his initials are tattooed on her thigh, an ugly-ass reminder of her utter failure at life. Not to mention her horrible taste in men.

Hamilton Dean-"Hammer" at his tattoo shop-may be an unlikely white knight, with his piercings and bad-boy persona, but he takes one look at Quinn and knows exactly what she needs. A new tattoo to cover the old one? Easy. A place to stay when her power's cut? Done. A night filled with hot, sweaty sex and mind-blowing orgasms? Hell yeah.

Addicted to Quinn's touch, Hammer brings her to the Inktastic Tattoo Convention. In his booth where anyone could see, alone in the hotel, anywhere and everywhere, Hammer has to have her. But he wants to give Quinn so much more than mindless pleasure and multiple orgasms. He offers her forever, if she has the courage to take it.

What Happens Under the Mistletoe

Thanks to the lovely and wonderful Anna for hosting us authors here on her blog for the holidays! It’s great to be a part of such a wonderful community of readers and writers.

I’m Regina Cole, and I write erotic romance. I want to talk a little bit about what my brand of erotic romance is, what it isn’t, and give you a little taste as a holiday gift. How does that sound?

I’ll be giving away an ebook copy of INDELIBLY INTIMATE and two ebook copies of DEAR ADDI, if the lovely Anna is amenable!

Okay, so let’s relate this smexy romance stuff to the big holiday that is literally around the weekend from us. A lot of people get really nervous when you mention the word “Erotic.” It evokes mental images that may startle or even frighten some people. When I tell people that I write erotic romance, their eyebrows climb to their hairlines, they blush, and sometimes giggle.

People. Come on. It’s not like you don’t know what happens in front of a cozy fire in the wintertime!

So let’s compare erotic romance, MY version of erotic romance, to what happens under the mistletoe.

Anybody know what the best thing about mistletoe is? Carte Blanche to lip-lock. Yup, it’s the golden ticket to Merry Kissmas. But is that it?

Let’s pretend you’re a young woman, single, at a Christmas party. You only know about a third of the people there, and your best friend has abandoned you. You’re holding an empty champagne glass, wishing you could be at home as some bleach-blonde pensioner yaks your ear off about the recent election. You’ve just managed to extricate yourself, heading for the door, when…

You bump into a strong, tall body at the foyer. You look up, and up, and your gaze meets a pair of incredible, rich brown eyes. A friendly hand steadies your elbow, but then you both glance upward.

A red-beribboned ball of mistletoe dangles playfully above your heads.

It’s gentle, sweet, and innocent. The first brush of lips, the mingling of breath, the warmth of a handsome stranger’s body pressing against your own. But it’s exciting, and you want more. The kiss deepens, your heart pounds…

And then it’s over.

He smiles, and walks away, and you wonder what his name was. You slip your hand into your coat pocket, and a slip of paper crinkles beneath your fingers. It’s his number.

That, to me, is what erotic romance feels like. You meet a character, and you go on a journey. There’s emotion, there’s heat,  and there’s hope and heart. Erotic stories are human stories. And human stories deal with sexual things. Everything is laid bare. The sex, the soul, the humanity.

Does my vision of erotic romance mesh with yours? Do you feel differently about it? Care to dip your toe into my version? Comment below, enter the giveaway, and check me out on various social media channels! I’m on Twitter, Facebook, and ReginaCole.net

May your days be merry, sexy, and bright!

Regina Cole, lover of manly muscled arms, chest hair, and mini-marshmallows, has been reading romance since her early teens. While she loves a love story of any heat level, she’s been drawn to the erotic side, and is loving every minute.

When she’s not frantically pounding away at the keyboard, she can be found fishing with her family, playing with her dogs, trying out strange new recipes, or snuggling with her hubby.

Alright dearlings. You heard Ms Cole :) She's giving away three ebooks today!!

Hot book covers and from what Anna's said, the stories are going to leave me needing a cig and some cold Pepsi too. Looking forward to getting my hands on her books.

  10. I think my vision of erotic romance is the same as yours, but I still prefer a bit less description of sexual acts and more description of feelings in a romantic scene.

  12. I do mesh with you on your idea of erotic romance. Two people, a chance spark, and then go at it like bunnies. :) It's the mystery about two people. And give me a bad boy, tattoos and piercings. I hope the piercings are in great places. *eg*
    What keeps you motivated?

  13. That sounds lovely, though it can also work for somewhat less erotic romances, as well.

  15. I love your idea of erotic romance. LOVE it! To be honest, I usually shy away from anything tagged erotic b/c most of what I had read was mostly sex with no story line. Sure, the sex is hot but it's also repetitive and boring in most books I've read. Because of that my idea of erotic is just that, mostly boring repetitive sex with no story line. Now, of course, that's not true for all books tagged as erotic. I have enjoyed some very much. And I look forward to reading yours!
