Deadly Offerings (Deadly Trilogy #1) by Alexa Grace

Anne Mason thinks she’ll be safe living in the Midwest building a wind farm. She may be dead wrong. Someone is dumping bodies in her corn field and telling Anne they are gifts—for her!

As the body count rises, Anne realizes a cold-blooded serial killer is patiently waiting and watching her every move. And he won’t stop until he ends her life. It is clear there are no limits to this killer’s thirst for revenge or how far he will go to get it.

Michael Brandt, the ruggedly handsome new County Prosecutor, is the last person Anne can trust, but may offer her only chance at survival from a psychopathic killer. But will she survive the passion that rages between them?

"Are you hungry or not? I'm asking because in about a minute, you're going to be flat on your back on that bed with a very aroused man on top of you."
Uuhhhh, yes please? If I was going to make up my very own hero, that would actually come to life, it would so be Michael Brandt. I loved everything about this man and enjoyed the hell out of Deadly OfferingsI love a good romantic suspense and Alexa Grace did a fantastic job of combining a fantastic suspense and a lovely romance and actually making it believable.

One of the things I loved most was that the romance between Michael and Anne didn't happen over 3 days which is what you find so often in Romantic Suspense. Their relationship happened over weeks and months, so you can really believe these two have fallen for each other. It was absolutely delicious too! Like give you little shivers and tingles delicious.
"Why are we here?"

"I thought it was time I introduced you to one of my favorite things--star gazing."

"Star gazing? Really? Okay, I'm curious. What are some of your other favorite things? Book clubs? Bird watching? Basket weaving? Scrapbooking?" Maybe if she said something annoying, she could focus on something besides the way his tanned skin glistened in the moonlight; the way his low voice, deep and sensual, sent a ripple through her body.

"I'm sure those are fine favorite things for some. For me, there's nothing like a cold, cold beer on a hot summer night, and slow dancing in the dark with someone that sends electricity through your body like a hot, sizzling strike of lightning. And then there's kissing." He turned on his side, his fingers intimately trailing down her cheek before he rubbed his thumb across her lower lip until he felt her tremble. "Not much can beat an evening filled with deep, hot kisses." He lay on his back gazing at the stars. "Do you agree?"

She took a ragged breath and nodded.
Michael's this big guy and tough as all get out but he's so gentle with Anne. I loved watching him take care of her despite her protests. He's sexy as hell and whew when he gets a little pissed he's really something else. I loved watching him put down his foot. It's one of those suck in your breath "oh my" things. <g> Anne wasn't a bad heroine herself but sometimes I wanted her to just accept Michael and not push him away so much. Still don't know how she kept that up so long because seriously. This man. Holy flipping sexy. She had the best of intentions with everything she did but "gah" just a little sometimes, ya know?

The writing is a little different in Deadly Offerings and flows between the different characters point of view which took me a couple chapters to get used to but after I did I found that I really liked the style and how easily it flipped between them.
The suspense was interesting and there are some definite creep you out things going on. It also lets you get to know a couple of the future characters just a little. And I can already tell I'm going to love them. There's a lot of teasing between all of the different couples (at least from the male side of things) and I absolutely love the feel of it.

If you love romantic suspense Deadly Offerings is definitely one to check out and as of this post it's FREE on Amazon and B&N. Damn good deal, right? Can't beat a great read with fabulous characters and a storyline that'll keep you guessing along the way and then getting it for free on top of it!

    1. Isn't that great that they're available in so many formats?! Love when authors do that :)

Have you tried the kindle for computer application Miki? I use that since I have a nook and it works pretty well. Was easy to install and free and now I can do the Kindle books on the computer at least. Not sure if it's available international but maybe worth a try!

    2. it's available for international but it doesn't work on all computer.. it worked once and after without explanation it doesn't open anymore at all ( and with my eyes problem it wasn't a good solution, with pdf i can print and read without too much damage)
^^ the positive is pdf is more often available too so i'm not left out as the other one in teh same case as me

  11. Ok, I'm a little hesitant about the series. Especially after reading a part of your review about being creeped out. I don't like gory, very explicit descriptions of murders and horror books. I'm not sure if this series falls into that category. I'm willing to check it out by getting book one for free.

    1. Oh no it's not that bad at all! It's not horror at all and while there are deaths and a serial killer it's not super super detailed or make you gag type of stuff.

My being creeped out was more to do with the mental part of it. More like how stalking, being spied on is creepy. Ya know?

This sounds like it's going to be a good read and I'm looking forward to starting it as soon as I get through the few I have in line here. I'll let you know my thoughts on it as soon as I get to it.

  14. I personally love Alexa Grace's approach to this genre. She is able to spin the story with detail and depth, and yet not go overboard with a lot of troubling detail.

Her stories always have touches of humor and romance, but again Ms. Grace is able to know when--and where--to draw the line on TMI (too much information.)

I highly recommend her books if you are remotely interested in the mystery/suspense/romance genre.

  15. that would certainly be creepy to find a body on your property, particularly multiple bodies.

    1. Mmmhmmm. That's one of my biggest fears...finding bodies where bodies have no place being. ::shudder:: And knowing someone left them for you to find. Yikes!

  18. Love the post and review:) I have read all of the Deadly Series and I agree completely. If you haven't picked up a copy, I highly recommend! The suspense keeps you on the edge of you seat, turning page after page because you can't wait to find out what is going to happen. Then you the steamy romance in and I doubt you will be disappointed:)
