Dear Addi by Regina Cole

When Addison Laine discovers her famous late-aunt’s love letters, she never expects a lawsuit over the information they contain.Enter Jackson Poole, son of the woman responsible for the lawsuit. Addi knows any relationship with Jackson would be disastrous but she can’t fight her attraction to his quiet intelligence and sexy-professor style.

As Jackson works on authenticating the letters, he finds himself falling for the free-spirited Addi. His fierce need for her overcomes all his reservations—and his inhibitions. And sweet, exciting Addi is more than willing to help him explore his secret kinky side.

Type: Erotica, Novella (<100 pages)
Heat: 3.5 out of 5
Rating: 4 out of 5

My mom is in town visiting right now and we decided to spend a quiet night at home just reading. Now, my momma and I do not read the same things. At all. About as spicy as she reads are the Stephanie Plum books by Evanovich (and those are pushing it LOL).

So we get all settled for the night and I picked up my Nook, opened up Dear Alli and starting reading along. And oh. my. god. I'm totally glancing around like a guilty little girl as I'm reading because my mom would just die if she knew I was reading something so steamy right there in front of her. Holy freaking sexy book! This was my first time reading Cole's books and damn did she just find a new fan. I loved the characters, the storyline and all the steamy goodness.

Dear Addi was a pretty quick read coming in at only around 80 pages but Cole really packed a wallop in that short amount of time and kept me absolutely glued to the page. I love an interesting meet between the hero and heroine and these two had a pretty great one seeing Jackson's mamma was suing Addi for all she was worth over some long lost love letters between their ancestors that Jackson was supposed to authenticate. Crazy way to meet, right?

Addi and Jackson were so different from each other but absolutely perfect together. She's a bit bold and says what she's thinking, is playful and even though she's not always completely confident the girl definitely has a backbone and had me cheering for her the whole time.

And Jackson. Well, I loved that he's not the most confident of heroes. He's on the quiet side, gorgeous but a little geeky and not always that smooth when it comes to women. But damn he can really pull it out and surprise you. Holy hell. It was pretty hot seeing him come out of his shell because of Addi and get a little.... forceful. Maybe try a few new things he'd never dreamed of. Whew. Yeah it was good.
"You think you can play me like a fiddle, don't you?" His deep voice thundered through her, the words uttered softly beside her ear. "You think that just because I'm quiet, you can have your way with me without a fight, is that right?"
"No," Addi whispered, excited at this side of Jackson. She pressed her ass back into his groin, thrilled at the sensation of his hardness against her.
"I think it is. I think that's what you wanted all along. You wanted me to be your boy toy, is that right?"
"No..."
"No sir to me, Addi." He turned her head with a hand on the nape of her neck and took her lips in a forceful but gentle kiss.
"No sir," she whispered when his mouth left hers.
"That's better." He rose, kneeling between her spread legs. She heard the soft rip of a wrapper then silence when he rolled the condom onto his shaft.
"Are you ready for me, Addison?" His hands parted her folds and she moaned, out of her head with wanting him. "Are you wet enough for me?"
"Yessss," she hissed, pushing back toward him.
A light smack echoed through the room, her shocked cry a split second later as the smarting pain rocketed to her brain.
"Yes sir, Addison."
He'd spanked her. He's honestly laid his bare hand to her ass. My lord, that felt... amazing.
With a wicked smile she said, "Yes."
Dear Addi is definitely erotica but it's the best possible kind. There's heat and incredible sex scenes but there's an emotional connection and a real relationship to back it up. Which, for me, makes it even better. With some family drama, a little adventure of the nekkid variety and two absolutely charming characters Dear Addi was a real delight to read.

  3. I do read quite a bit of erotica. I prefer for them to have a good story to go along with the sex in most cases.

  4. I know I've said it before but you crack me up! That's one thing that draws me to your blog. Your humor. What a hoot you would be to hang out with. :)

I haven't dipped into erotica yet but this story, with her interview, has got me wanting to dive into this one. I love the fact there is a story of love with all the erotica.

    1. LOL glad you're enjoying the blog Leah!

I started reading them maybe 2 years ago and you know, there are some really good ones out there. There are some really crazy ones too you need to work up to (like Amber Elizabeth's Satyrs- they've got two cocks some of the time! Really good books but not your starter erotica LOL) But definitely worth a try!

    1. LOL. Some of the mainstream romance is really erotic in my opinion :) I've read a few that made my mouth drop! (in a good way)

  8. I don't read much erotica. Most of what I've read in the past was all sex & no or very little story line. And the sex tends to get repetitive and boring. However, having said that, I have read some erotica that I enjoyed. I'm kinda picky about sexual content and I've found that steamy mainstream works better for me most of the time.

    1. Definitely get what you're saying. I tend to stick to the mainstream romances most of the time and dip into erotica and young adult for little breaks here and there. Some of the authors do get a little repetitive with certain bits especially when they leave out any sort of plot.

  9. Great review. I'm glad to hear there's more to the story than just the erotic aspect. It's always great to have a really great story with a real relationship as well.

  18. I think the relationship building and emotional connection are the key. They can make or break it no matter what genre.

  19. OMG! That excerpt was hot! Although reading about him being so quiet and reserved and then reading the excerpt was a little shocking. Lol! Will be reading this!
By the way, my Mom reads the same books I do. Lol! We share my Kindle account so she has something to read and doesn't have to pay for them. I do keep the really naughty ones away from her but those are the M/F/M ones...I really don't think she could handle those. Lol!
