Interview w/ Danica Winters-- she may have a little evil in her...

A nymph: a woman with the ability to seduce at will, shift to protect, but cursed with the fate to have the man she falls in love with die a tragic death. As one of these ill-fated nymphs, Aura Montgarten has spent her lifetime drifting from one place to another hiding from love. Until she meets Dane.

When a body washes up on the shore of a rural Montana lake, police officer Dane Burke is faced with the task of finding the killer—even if it means he will be forced to put his life and heart at risk by working with a drifter. As the truth of Aura’s Mustang-shifting nymph ways are revealed, Dane learns exactly the amount of danger he and Aura are in, but can’t force himself to leave a case unsolved when the truth is just outside his grasp.

When the killer decides he needs to take another victim—Dane—Aura must choose between their forbidden love and her immortal life. Can there be life without love or is death her only choice?

Good morning Danica! Come on in hun and have a seat. Since it's such a nice morning I thought we'd sit out back and enjoy the sun and some lemonade while we chat.
Well, thank you for the warm welcome! I appreciate you hosting me on your blog today. I always love to talk with readers about my books!
You have definitely come to the right place then! LOL So, I just saw you had a new release in your Nymph Series,  Montana Mustangs. Woot! Congratulations! First could you tell us a little bit about your Nymph Series?

Thank you again. I’m so excited about Montana Mustangs. This was such a fun book to write and my fans (as well as my new fans) seem to love it—which always pleases me as the author.
About The Nymph Series…. The Nymph Series is based on one fact: Nymphs are cursed. When they fall in love with a human man, the man is fated to die. Who doesn’t love the allure of forbidden love?!
In each of the books within the Nymph Series, a different nymph is faced with their own set of circumstances and their own experience with love. I promise they will all surprise you. Just when you think you have the mystery figured out there will be a little more to keep you guessing (Montana Mustangs).
Each of the books can stand-alone, but I would recommend reading them in order as they build on each other and some of the books to come will focus on characters that have already appeared within the series.
They really do keep you guessing which is so much fun. Alright so what's the skinny on Montana Mustangs?
Montana Mustangs (off the cuff) is about Aura Montgarten and her sister Natalie. When her sister comes to Montana and disappears, Aura tries to come to her rescue. Death, mystery, suspense, and one heck of a love story follows. :)
With this book I tried to incorporate all of my favorite book genres, suspense, mystery, paranormal, and romance.  There is a little in this book for everyone (plus, it’s based in my favorite/home state!!!)
Oh very neat. Love that it's right there in your home state! So, could you tell us 3 fun facts about Montana Mustangs and your Nymph series? Think Pop-Up video style.
  • Flathead Lake is a real lake. It is one of the largest fresh water lakes this side of the Mississippi.
  • Del’s Bar (a setting within Montana Mustangs) is a real dive-bar in Somers, Montana. Stop by for a burger! (Hopefully a fight will not follow!)
  • Dancer, the horse from the book, is named after my stepfather’s mustang (but she’s really a mare instead of a gelding). *aw, I loved Dancer!*
  • The next book in the Nymph Series is entitled Winter Swans and will be out October 14th, 2013!!
Oh that is fantastic news! Can't wait to read it. Now, nymph's are a little different in the paranormal world. I love that you brought a para-being to light we really just don't see all that often. What drew you towards them?
I loved nymphs. I loved the fact they held a curse (thank you, Wikipedia). From there, I let my imagination run wild. Yes, they are based on Greek mythology, but just like my books, they tend to stray a bit from convention—I love being FRESH (for those of you with a dirty mind—I don’t mean sexually fresh—Though, I suppose that would be okay too!). I wanted to make them characters my readers could identify with and also wonder…could they be real?
LOL we do have a few dirty minds around here. ::snort:: Good thing you clarified that one ;) Alright how about a few silly ones then we'll let you get back to working on Winter Swans...

Girly crafting adventure that leaves you twitchy?
When I have free time, I have tried my hand as sewing. All of my curtains in my home are hand-made and are actually square and correctly sized!!! I know, you are as shocked as I am. However, I must admit, sewing makes me want to pull my hair out. *oh damn. I am impressed!*
I'm completely obsessed with...?
British Invasion shows. I just got done watching the entire Downton Abbey Series. For those of you who like this show, you will empathize with me that I may discontinue watching BBC shows. Grrr….
Favorite Man Candy? Pictures are totally welcome!
OOOoohhh I love man candy. I post them at least three times a week on my Facebook fan page! Here’s my current fav ---->
Solid or patterned sheets?
I don’t think about my sheets often…. Good question… Hmmm…. Pattern.
Favorite color drink?
Pale yellow (think Moscato).
Best "burning soup" moment?
I run a little bit…okay a lot…. on the klutzy side. Last Montana Romance Writers Conference (the next one is this September) I started my hairdryer on fire—right before a book signing. Yep, had to sit there with wet hair greeting readers. I felt terribly unprofessional---I’m always a ‘hair and makeup’s done’ author (at least when in public).
Last thing that made you ::gigglesnort::
I’m evil…but I love watching the epic fails on Youtube. When I’m having a ‘down day’ I always turn to the videos.
Bwahah, we'll just have to be evil with you. Those are to funny! Well it was just wonderful seeing you Danica. Thanks for dropping in to chat about Dane and Aura. I can't wait to dig in and really meet these two!
I know you will enjoy the books!! Happy Reading!
