Her Dark Angel (Her Angel #1) by Felicity Heaton

An angel without a mission, Apollyon lives trapped in Hell guarding the bottomless pit. Surrounded by endless darkness, he longs to fly free on Earth once more but his master hasn’t called him in centuries. When the call finally comes, it’s to serve a new master, a beautiful woman he has often watched over, a woman who has always captivated him.

Serenity is shocked when a gorgeous black-winged angel shows up in her city of Paris claiming that she called him when she was only casting a simple vengeance spell. He’s no other than the angel of death! When Apollyon offers to obey her and help her have revenge on her cheating ex-boyfriend, she can’t resist the temptation, but can she resist him? Can an angel as dark as Apollyon ever fall for a mortal woman like her?

Her Dark Angel was one of my first Felicity Heaton books and it hooked me well and good. It's one of those short and sweet reads with likable characters, a bit of humor and a sexy little romance that makes for a perfect evening read with you just want a delicious story to escape into for a couple hours.

I really liked both Serenity, a witch, and Apollyon who is a dark angel and basically guarded Hell until he was called to help her seek revenge on a cheating ex. He's a little different for a hero, right? But oh, damn, he's so good. One of the things I loved about these two is that they felt like they'd known each other forever (after an oh so rough first meet, that is). There's a bit of a connection between them even if Serenity never knew and I really loved that little touch.

Alright, I know Felicity mentioned she doesn't find sex scenes the easiest to write but oh my word the woman  does an amazing job of them and you'd never know they give her a bit of trouble. The steamy moments between Apollyon and Serenity were fabulous. They feel intimate and natural together and oh yeah, they're squirm-worthy. I think it was the little things that made the connection between the two so good. Little things like her touching and caressing his wings. And damn but wings really have never been so sexy. You really want to get all wrapped up in them. <g>

Her Dark Angel was a fun read for me. It's sexy and entertaining and just a good time. It's a little short on plot but hell, that really works sometimes, you know?

I write passionate paranormal romance books as Felicity Heaton and F E Heaton. In my books, I create detailed worlds, twisting plots, mind-blowing action, intense emotion and heart-stopping romances with leading men that vary from dark deadly vampires to sexy shape-shifters and wicked werewolves, to sinful angels and hot demons!

When I'm not filling my day with writing or writing related work, I love nothing more than reading, playing RPG on my PlayStation, watching anime or reading manga, and also spend time drawing manga characters (sometimes of my romance heroes and heroines) and improving my archery skills. I also love to travel and I am studying Japanese.

  10. A while ago, I won one of the Angel books during a contest. So I bought the other two. Then there were only 3 books, it wasn't until book 5 was almost out that I discovered there was a book 4, which I don't have yet along with book 5. I love Felicity's writing, from what I've read in excerpts and her book covers are to die for.
