His Christmas Wish (Holland Springs #2.5) by Marquita Valentine

There's no time like the Present...

War Hero, Joaquin Morales, returns to Holland Springs after years of estrangement from his family...and his wife. His new mission: To convince his wife that they have a future together.

Falling in love with her husband for the second time was not a part of Sage Caswell's plans for the Holiday Season. She's convinced that what they had belongs in the past.

With the help of a little Christmas magic (and a well-timed snowstorm), can Joaquin and Sage's dreams come true?

Type: Contemporary Romance (Novella)
Heat: 3 out of 5
Rating: 4 out of 5

His Christmas Wish is one of those "curl up by the fire all snuggled up in a warm blanket with a cup of hot chocolate" type of reads and is one of those perfect escapes when you're looking for something warm and sweet with a little humor and a lot of heart to snuggle up and enjoy for a couple of hours.

Joaquin and Sage were both such likable characters and drew me in right away. I just love those second chance at getting love right relationships and you couldn't find two people to pull for more. These two have been apart for years while Joaquin served and despite still being married are definitely not on friendly terms with each other what with their warring families and some "what the hell were you thinking?" choices along the way. I loved watching their relationship change as they figured things out and whew the two were really good together. The steamy scenes really heated things up too!
"Sage Caswell?" Ella asked, her voice incredulous. "But y'all's parents hate each other. Oh! So, that's why you won't go out with me." She sighed dreamily. "Like Romeo and Juliet."
Sage waved a piece of paper at him, and the tips of his ears grew hot.
"Something like that." but only if Juliet had woken up and stabbed Romeo.
There's a lot packed into this little novella but it really flowed nicely and sparked my interest in the series. There were a couple spots I would have liked to see a bit more fleshed out, like Joaquin dealing with trauma from serving, but really I loved how things worked out with these two so it's hard to complain about the little things. His Christmas Wish was just a lovely heartwarming Christmas story that had me smiling and sighing and eager to pick up another of Valentine's books.

Internationally bestselling author, MARQUITA VALENTINE, writes small town romances that are anything but small. Lisa Kleypas, Carly Phillips and Rachel Gibson are her favorite contemporary authors. Marquita met her husband aka Hot Builder at Sonic when they were in high school. She suggests this location to all of her single friends in search of a good man -- and if that doesn't work, they can console themselves with cheesy tatertots. She lives in North Carolina in a very, very small town with Hot Builder and their two children.

I love second chance romances, and I especially liked that Sage didn't play the game of making Joaquim grovel , ( too much). LOL
