3.5 stars-- Here Comes the Bride (Chapel of Love #3) by Hope Ramsay

Here Comes the Bride was a fun read as a jilted bride maybe kinda falls for her ex fiance's best man.

The Gist:
Laurie's fiance is a wanker. And leaves her at the alter. Prick move, buddy. Prick move. The best man, Andrew? His goal is to make sure she's okay. That's all he cares about. Only problem? His boss-- Laurie's dad-- wants the split couple back together and tasks Andrews with that mission. Oy!
The Good Bits:
  • Andrew and Laurie. Individually they were both pretty easy to like. Interesting and good people.
  • And they were nice together. There's some good flirty bits and some very sweet bits but not a lot of actual heat on the page. I was definitely rooting for them.
  • There's a good bit of crazy from their friends/family/her ex that kept things moving along and was in turns funny and frustrating watching it all play out. Not a bad thing, though!
  • The writing was fantastic as always. I enjoy Ramsay's storytelling. It was easy to read and moved quickly. Its always fun spending time in her world.
  • The cover is absolutely lovely!
The Not So Great Bits:
But holy cow the man bashing. There's an insane amount of man bashing in this one. It could have been reduced by 50% and still would have been laying on the 'women are perfect men are horrible and worthless' way too thick. I get it when applied to the douche ex-fiance but it was tacked on to every male. It was crazy and definitely took away from the book. I struggled with a 3 or 3.5 rating because of it and eventually settled on 3.5 because the story was enjoyable and kept me reading. While it happened with a couple characters it was mainly one of the secondary characters that kept popping up and was involved with everything. She was just...too muc.
Overal, though... Enjoyable characters, a sweet romance,  and a nice setting made Here Comes the Bride a fun little contemporary romp.

For Professor Laurie Wilson, planning her wedding to longtime boyfriend Brandon Kopp has been a whirlwind. But somehow, between all the cake tastings and dress fittings, she never imagined being left at the altar. In the aftermath, she does what any sensible woman would - she swigs champagne and considers keying his car. Until someone knocks on her door with a much better idea for revenge.

Best man Andrew Lyndon thinks Laurie's better off without Brandon. But Laurie's father - and Andrew's boss - isn't going to accept anything less than a reconciliation. And he's made it Andrew's problem to solve. So Andrew decides to make Brandon jealous by setting Laurie up on a string of "dates." After a couple of weeks, Brandon will be begging Laurie to take him back. But Andrew's plan works a little too well because suddenly he's the one falling for Laurie -- and planning a proposal of his own.
