Tasty Tuesday: 6 minute Oatmeal Drop Cookies!

6-Minute Oatmeal Drop Cookies!

I was so going to make something else for this week's Tasty Tuesday but time crunch and all that so I hunted down a 6 minute recipe and now I have...cookies. Yum!

The only "cooking" is boiling a couple of the ingredients for a whole...minute.

Then stirring in peanut butter and the quick oats. After it's nice and combined all you do is plop spoonfuls on a parchment lined baking sheet and let cook for just a little bit.

And cookies! I haven't had these in more years then I can even think of so it was really fun to give them a try. Not my healthiest Tasty Tuesday but I'm good with that ;)

Happy baking kittens! Yall have any fun recipes planned for the week?

    2. I have no idea if I can buy oats like in the picture here in Holland, or Vanilla. I do know about Vanilla Sugar though, that smells heavenly.

    3. Oh I've never heard of Vanilla Sugar. That does sound good. This was vanilla extract. I think you can use almond extract as well if that's more common there.

I've seen recipes call for quick 1-minute oats like the ones here or just regular oats. Not sure if those work as well though. I'm going to have to look into vanilla sugar!

    4. Okay, is that one of those small bottles with liquid flavor? You only add a few drops when baking?

    5. Yep. It's a brown liquid and just concentrated vanilla I guess. Smells really good when baking. Usually it's about a teaspoon used in most recipes. Not sure what that would translate for you but I think it's about a small sized eating spoon worth.

    7. LOL I'm so bad at knowing measurements and what's used in which country. We use teaspoons and tablespoons (about 3 teaspoons I think).

  2. I LOVE these cookies but when it comes to making them, they don't love me. I can never get them to set up right.

    1. I was really worried about that Leah. From what I read this is one of the recipes that your measurements have to be really exact or they won't set right. Do yours go too soft or hard?

    2. Too soft. I've also heard people say the humidity has something to do with it too. I think it's just me, LOL!

    3. Hmmm. Interesting. We don't have the driest air here so would think I'd have that trouble too. Do you use quick oats or regular ones? I think the quick oats soak up a bit more of the moisture in the liquid. If I stumble on anything about them not setting I'll let ya know :)

    1. It's actually a pretty nice combo I think and gives it a nice richness without being too overpowering.

      Happy baking!
