[memes] Authors I'd Love to Meet? Nope! + my week in books

Note: I accidentally deleted 6 months of the blog so this is a repost. All comments on the original posts were unfortunately lost. Sorry!

I wanted to meme. And only had one weekly post to do it. So there's a whole lotta memeage happening in this post. You might have to scroll down a bit to get the one you're looking for. 😸

Whew, yall. It was a busy week!

On the Blog
  • Oh my gosh. I read. And I read. And I read a little more. It was fabulous!
  • Blog Ahead starts MONDAY!
  • I skipped posting most of this week. Just didn't feel like having posts go live.
  • I'm real delayed in returning comments. Disqus is letting me know when someone comments about 4-5 days after the comment is left. Um. lol

Around the House
  • As much as I read this week I shopped, too! I bought a new power washer that got here today. Now to get the cleaning done.
  • I did the food pantry and had two newish people on shift with me and we were SLAMMED.
  • The herd is hanging in there :)
  • It was a pretty good week overall. Whew!

These three were short and fine overall. I needed a hit of Christmas and they gave me that. They happen at the same time so unfortunately repetition was an issue. Editing blips, too.
  • Santa Paws-- The heroine is a reindeer! A. Rein. Deer.
  • Christmas Catastrophe-- Firefighter rescues a big cat from a tree...and finds his mate!
  • Bear Humbug-- Growly grumpy bear in want of a wife. Might have to battle a blizzard to win her and save her nephew.

I do love the heroine and her crew in this series. She's a new homesteader with ornery cows and goats and a penchant for stumbling on dead bodies. lol
  • Deadly Brew-- Death at a Halloween festival. I had issues with this one and some hypocrisy where the meat eaters were concerned (over hunting)
  • Mistletoe Murder-- Oh it was back on. I had a great time with this as she works Christmas fairs with products she's made on her farm and tries to find a murderer.

Hot As Sin-- LOVE! Barney is one of my favorite side characters. He's so dang hot and mysterious. It was bittersweet since it's a transition novella as he leaves the team he's been working with and they all say goodbye in rock star fashion.

The Christmas Cat-- Man the hero and I had a struggle since he's anti cat for a while. He's been tasked with finding his grandmom's cats homes after she passes. In the end he was less asshole-ish. lol

Despite the cover the hero/heroine are 40! I love that! They're so cute, too. Very slow on making their move but it's sweet.

I picked up 2 freebies.

Top Ten: Authors I’d Love to Meet

Soooo. My first thought was...none of them. lol I've become a bit jaded the last couple years where authors are concerned and realizing a lot of my "favorites" I really didn't like as people (darn you social media! and authors behaving badly *shakes fist*). So now I rarely follow new authors on social media or reach out to them for anything more than a tag on twitter/facebook if I review their books and have unfollowed dang near everyone.

So. I'm changing the topic slightly to authors I'm friends with that I'd like to meet up with sometime soon. lol

PA and her hubby come through my state a time or two a year so we get to meet up and gab and eat and it's fabulous. She writes fun romantic suspense. *pets the pretty cover* and is just an awesome lady.

And Erin is one of my local ladies and in my book club.  She has such a kind heart and is always fun to hang out with and catch up with. She writes lovely historicals (and some contemporaries now, too).

Question: Do you sneak a peek at the number of views your posts have gotten?
A: No, not really. I sometimes see the numbers when I'm going looking for something else (like search terms that brought people to the blog) but it's not a stat I really pay attention to.
