Game for Love (Bad Boys of Football #3) by Bella Andre

In a relationship built on lies...the only truth is their feelings for each other.

To fulfill his grandmother's dying wish, linebacker Cole Taylor must find and marry a good girl. First grade teacher Anna Davis fits the bill perfectly. Their deal is simple: If she'll be his temporary wife, he'll give her more pleasure than she ever imagined was possible.

Only, love is the ultimate game-changer.

I'm really not sure how this one ended up on my Nook but I'm glad it did! Andre's writing has a great flow and is really so captivating. One of my favorite storylines is the "fake mates/couple" that end up falling for each other. For some reason I just love that one and, turned out, I really loved Cole and Anna as well. The innocent school teacher taking a stand and the playboy footballer fulfilling his gram's dying wish to see him happily married by doing something crazy...like getting married mere hours after meeting...

Now, talk about a hot steamy read! I don't think anyone has ever had quite so much sex in the history of sex as Anna and Cole. Holy cow. These two went at it like bunnies. Now, the sex scenes were very well written. They're hot and steamy, emotionally charged and down right sexy but geezaloo there's an abundance of them in this 180 page story. I'm surprised either of them could actually walk after we hit about the halfway mark.
His dark, sinful eyes moved from her eyes to her mouth, then back up again. "Are you talking back to me, sweet Anna?"
She couldn't stop staring at his mouth. "Get used to it." The throbbing between her thighs had turned into a deep ache.
"What happened to my good girl?" His mouth was now so close to hers that she could smell the mint from his  toothpaste.
"Don't you remember?" she asked in a voice that was barely more than a whisper. "You tied her up and played with her."
Cole's mouth found hers on a desperate groan, his tongue pushing past her lips as he took her kiss.
I ended up really falling for these two and for very different reasons. Cole managed to screw up more than once but I was an absolute puddle over him and his grandmother. Here's this HUGE hulking footballer and he's completely smitten with his tiny little grandmom who is ill. Doesn't want to disappoint her, lets her tell him what's what and frets over her. It was just so sweet and heart breaking watching the two together and seeing how emotional it made him.

And Anna. I really felt for her too. She's "sweet" (yeah that word got used in abundance as well) and rather sheltered and damn tired of everyone treating her like she's safe and boring. I really enjoyed watching her break free of that and exploring not just her sexuality but life in general. Getting bolder and not doing what everyone else expected of her.

Some of the storyline was a little predictable and I will say I had a bit of an issue with the emphasis on how much sex Cole had with women prior to Anna. I guess I just like living in my little bubble and not knowing about my hero's man-whorish past, ya know? But putting those two things aside I really enjoyed Cole and Anna's story and will be going back now to pick up the first two in the series.

So, who would I recommend this one for? Anyone who enjoys a good romance with a LOT of sheet time added in to the mix.

  1. Yes, I do like Bella Andre. I have read her firefighters, and have 5 other books on my shelves, waiting to be read. But to be honest, after 2 or 3 love scenes, I will be skipping the rest, so this book would be read fairly fast by me.

    1. LOL yeah you'd breeze through this one! I'm good with 4 or 5 scenes I guess. Since I read a good bit of erotica it kind of comes with the territory. But I will give her this even with the vast amount of nookie the relationship part really worked too and developed nicely :)
