Q: Which book genre do you avoid at all costs?
A: I'm an easy reader really. I'll admit it. I can get into nearly anything I'm reading and usually love it. I did find something that was so not for me this past year though. Bizarro. It's a sub category of Horror I guess? Maybe? Some horror so works for me. This one totally skeeved me out. I still don't remember how I found it but The Haunted Vagina crossed my path and apparently in a sick and twisted moment I decided I had to have this book because really how can you pass up a book called the Haunted Vagina. And a tag line of "It's difficult to love a woman whose vagina is a gateway to the world of the dead." A supposed love story. With some great reviews mind you. Yeah. Okay. So. Not. My. Thing.

DeleteHaha oh my!! I think curiosity would have gotten the better of me as well, but now I know to steer clear. New follower :)
ReplyDeleteMy Friday hops
That's my only excuse. My friends and I all had a good chuckle over it. Thanks for coming by :)
DeleteHi! I'm a new follower!!! I can't wait to read more on your blog!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteHuh, I'd actually never heard of Bizarro before. :)
http://jbkantt.blogspot.com/2012/01/follow-me-friday-my-first-one.html
It left me with a well, huh too. Don't know what possessed me but still kinda funny to have on the bookshelf.
Deletethanks for the follow. Just got back from visiting yours :)
Um yeah - LOL, I don't think that would be sort of read either
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Book'd Out earlier!
Shelleyrae @ Book'd Out
Definitely a step outside the norm for me. Still glad I picked it out even if just to say it's sitting on my bookshelf. ;)
DeletePersonally I avoid historical fiction. I’m following you now from Follow Friday, and to follow me back, check out My Follow Friday post
ReplyDeleteEvery once in a while one will catch my eye but I tend to skirt around it too. Thanks for coming by.
Deletelol! Yes, I probably wouldn't want to read something like the Haunted Vagina either. It's difficult with Horror, as that is a category that doesn't fuss me, yet, Anne Rice comes under Horror and I love her vampires! So I do read Horror. But possibly the 'gentler' variety.
ReplyDeleteI followed you back BTW. Thanks for following me :D
I'm definitely of the "gentler" horror variety. Still glad I gave it a try though :)
DeleteOhhhh wow!. When I first clicked on your site and saw that book, I was literally like.... O.o WTF? That has got to be the strangest and worst idea for a book ever. New Follower. Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier. =D
ReplyDeleteIt really was the strangest/worst idea for a book I've ever read. It was something else that's for sure :)
