Best Books of 2018!

2018 was a weird reader-blogger year for me. In February-ish I decided I wasn't going to take review books anymore. Or at least drastically reduce them. I went from doing 95% review books to maybe 5% review books.

It was the best decision I've made in a long while.

I found some amazing books this year because of it and enjoyed them so much more. Older books for the most part...vastly better than the ones currently hitting the market in my opinion. Mmhm

A Virgin River Christmas--This was a re-read and I adored it just as much the second time. The hero is a reclusive war veteran that's basically turned into a "crazy" mountain man. The heroine is the widow of his best friend who died while deployed and determined to find him. I loved their story. It's heart-wrenching and incredibly touching.  [Review | Amazon]

The Vixen and the Vet-- One of the best Beauty and the Beast retellings and one that completely grabbed my heart--the hero is extremely damaged from war physically and emotionally. It's not always pretty but it was an incredible romance an journey for both characters. [Review | Amazon]

Emergency Delivery-- This one had such a unique meet-cute. She kinda goes into labor on the side of the road and he's the EMT that comes to the rescue. I loved them together. And with the baby. It was just sweet and grabbed my heart. It steamed up real nice, too. [Review | Amazon]

The entire Rose Gardner series was amazing. Honestly even though these weren't 5 star reads for me they are quite possibly my favorite find of 2018. They were addictive and amazing. The heroine has visions when she touches people and the series is her life after her controlling hateful mother dies. When she can finally go out into the world and stop hiding. I loved Rose's character and watching her learn about the world, experience new things, date, fall in love. They're mysteries with a little romance thrown in as she gets involved with the criminal underworld. They're...you just need to read all of them. lol [Review | Amazon]

Whiskey River Rescue-- Oh, yall. The hero tore down the heroine's house. Without telling her. But it was AMAZING! You neeed it. #ThatIsAll
[Amazon | Review]

Say You're Sorry-- Leigh was another new to me and I really enjoyed her mystery/thriller. Action packed, interesting, fantastic characters. There's a tiny bit of romance added in, too. [Review | Amazon]

Cowboy SEAL Homecoming-- A group of SEALs with PTSD trying to make a new life for them after leaving the military. I really enjoyed this whole series. The guys set out to build a rehab ranch for wounded military that are coming home. [Review | Amazon]

Lucky Harbor-- It's one of my favorite series but I'd only read the first six of them and then it got put on hold for years. I decided I had the time and binge read the last six in the series. They're just my happy place. The characters, the quirky town, the romance. Everything. They're sweet easy reads with a little steam. [Review | Amazon]
