I actually have no idea how M O'Keefe originally landed in my review pile but woohoo! Yay! I'm so glad she did because dayum! Gritty and mysterious and hot as freaking hell.

Seriously. There was phone sex in book one that had me squirming. lol

Just a couple chapters into that first book I read of hers and I was addicted. Like can't-put-it-down-you-best-step-away-cus-mama's-reading addicted. lol

Bad Neighbor’s Charlotte and Jesse’s First Christmas!

“Jeez, you’re really going for it,” Jesse said, stepping into my apartment.  The lights around the door reflected in his dark hair, making him look like my own personal Christmas Gift.

Which he was. Without a doubt.

When I was a kid Santa brought me a Barbie Dream Van and it had made my head explode with joy.

Jesse was so much better than the Barbie Dream Van.

“It’s nice, isn’t it!” I said, standing beside him at the door taking in my morning’s work. Frankly, my opinion on Christmas lights was the more the merrier. But only if they played carols and blinked in time.

“It’s like Star Wars in here,” he said, holding up his hands as if the lights were blinding him.

“Too much?”

“I think I’m going to have a seizure.”

“Hardy har.” I swatted his arm with my sleek black clutch and he moved lightening fast, grabbing me and turning me against the door. My internal Christmas lights lit up at the press of his body against me. Heavy and hard. Solid.

“Charlotte,” he breathed, taking in my dress. Which was awesome and new and only a little uncomfortable. “Look at you. You’re beautiful.”

“Look at you,” I said, stroking his jacket. It was new too. We’d bought ourselves some gifts ahead of the holiday season. Some new life gifts. He was getting serious about the MMA fights and had to go to sponsorship meetings and press events – all horrific to my beautiful caveman – but he needed clothes that weren’t held up with elastic waists.

And I had a press tour coming up for my Where is Jane Austen book and I needed clothes that didn’t have Big Bird on them.

“We’re not going to this fucking party,” he said, his hand running up my thigh.

“We have to, baby,” I said,  all gaspy and not convincing because his fingers were sliding over my new silky underwear.

“Later,” he said and dropped to his knees in front of me.

So. Much. Better. Than. A. Barbie. Dream. Van.
He’s sexy. He’s dangerous. He’s right next door.

I gave up everything to save my sister from a monster, and now I’m lying low in this rundown apartment so I can stay out of danger. Hiding from everyone.

Except for the guy in apartment 1A.

He’s rude. Silent. Muscled, mysterious, and hot as hell. I don’t know if he likes me or hates me, but the more time I spend with him, the less it matters.

I want him.

And for the first time in my life I'm going to go after what I want.

She doesn’t belong in my world.

From the second 1B moves in, I know she’s keeping secrets. She doesn’t belong here, much less with a street fighter like me.

But that doesn’t stop me from craving her. Her softness and sweetness. She’s a drug, and suddenly I’m addicted.

I know someone is going to try and hurt her and I can’t let that happen. But unless I push her away and get her out of my world, that someone could be me…

Molly O’Keefe has always known she wanted to be a writer (except when she wanted to be a florist or a chef and the brief period of time when she considered being a cowgirl). And once she got her hands on some romances, she knew exactly what she wanted to write.

She published her first Harlequin romance at age 25 and hasn’t looked back. She loves exploring every character’s road towards happily ever after.
