Oh K. Bromberg. She kills me. This was my second read from her and gah they're an excellent mix of romance, heat, laughs and some pretty serious shit too. I had a hard time picking just one quote this week so I went with three. LOL These two could be a spot cheesy now and again with their innuendo and such but it was so fun and they had a great time with it throughout--including with some funny candy ones since he's a sweets junkie. Anywho so starting it off... loved how they turned the tables on each other...

"You're like unwrapping a present. So many surprises to discover."

You can unwrap me all you like.

"The best parts of me are hidden," I deadpan, a lopsided smirk playing over one corner of my mouth. I love seeing his jaw fall lax in my periphery. Gotta keep him on his toes.

"Good thing I like to take my time when I open a gift. Nice and slow." He draws the words out, a whistle falling from his lips as the tingle begins anew deep in my core. "And I always take my time untying them when they're knotted tight. Always open the box by sliding my fingers in the seam first before I dive right in..."

How in the hell has he just seduced me and all he's describing is a damn birthday present?
And this one too...
Her lips tilt up in a dare of a smile as she steps into me, taking her own lead in this seductive game. "Tell me, rocker boy." she says coyly, her tone breathless and her fingertip skimming up my chest, "is it true that you can play this body like a guitar?"

Her fingers leave my skin and she palms her own breasts, thumbs rubbing over her nipples just like I want to, causing her head to fall back and a soft sigh to fall from her lips.

"I'm gonna bang you like a goddamn drum set if you keep that shit up," I murmur as I use every once of restraint not to drag her to the floor and fuck her until we're breathless and spent.
One thing I love about this one is it's first person but it switches back and forth so you get the hero and heroines thoughts. This was Hawkin...
I swear to fucking God women are like alcohol. They smell great, they taste delicious, and right or wrong, they kill you slowly, one way or another. But shit, death by the slow burn Quinlan's lit within me sounds like a pretty fucking perfect way to go.

Sweet Ache (Driven #6) by K. Bromberg

Oh my word. Bromberg is one of those authors that just nearly does me in while I'm reading and has me flying back and forth the whole time. It's quite the experience going through the highs and lows right along with Hawkin and Quinlan as they drive each other a little crazy and prove to be just what the other needs in their lives.

The quick of it is that rockstar Hawkin's twin brother is a screw up and it's landed Hawkin having to teach a college class to butter up his judge in hopes of a lighter sentence. Just so happens to be a class Quinlan is having to TA and she's anything but impressed with playboys and their cocky ways. Damn if that doesn't peak his interests. And double damn her girly parts...but the longer she has to deal with the cheeky bastard...her interest too. Bandmates, bets, difficult family and emotions getting involved all come together and definitely keep these two on their toes.

Hawkin and Quinlan. Whew. Boy. These two. I loved them. And I wanted to shake them. And maybe pinch the back of his arm where it hurts like a mother! more than once. lol They're both forces to be reckoned with. They've got strong personalities, screw up, struggle and had me worried once or twice if they'd be able to recover from things but in the end they both managed to wow and charm me as they fell in love and survived everything thrown in their paths.

The romance and passion were intense, fiery. and make ya fan yourself hot. They don't have any trouble heating things up, getting creative and, damn, making your toes curl just a little too. They were pretty damn funny along the way too. Hawkin's got a crazy sweet tooth and it led to some very cheeky and snort-worthy bits of innuendo that just had me rolling.

I love that while the romance and sexual side of things are front and center there's a serious underlying storyline of family, promises and heartache as well. Hawkin went through something traumatizing when he was young and it's really changed his whole life. The guilt and responsibility to care for his mother and brother no matter how hateful or unworthy they were was hard to watch and broke my heart over and over again. Especially as Hawke dealt with medical troubles with his mother. Won't even lie. They had me in tears a few times as Quin helped heal his soul and he tried to let go of the past and ache it brought. It all coupled the romance wonderfully.

All in all, Bromberg knocked out another fabulous read that touched the heart and left me smiling. And maybe doing a little girly sigh too. Next, please!

Have you read Bromberg? What's your favorite?
Do you like a bit of a serious storyline with your romances?
Any awesome bits of innuendo you just love?

Hawkin Play, the bad boy rock star with a good guy heart, has lived a lifetime of cleaning up after his twin brother’s mistakes. Hunter’s most recent screw-up could land Hawke in jail and risk the band’s future. Hawke agrees to guest lecture at a local college to stay in the judge’s good graces—and a bet with his bandmate to seduce his sexy teaching assistant is icing on the cake.

Quinlan Westin is harder to bed than Hawke imagined. She knows his type and is determined to avoid the rocker at all costs—even if their attraction runs deeper than simple lust.

Just as Hawke might finally be winning over the girl, his brother has other plans. When Hunter realizes his twin finally has a weakness, he’ll stop at nothing to take advantage…
