Animal Attraction (Animal Magnetism #2) by Jill Shalvis

Sunshine, Idaho, is a quiet ranching town, a perfect place to give injured animals a refuge…or to find one yourself. Veterinarian Dell Connelly suspects there’s a reason his clinic’s uber-efficient receptionist has taken shelter here.

Jade Bennett couldn’t be happier to escape the big-city jungle to work with hurt animals, and have a forlorn stray kitten make its home under her desk…or enjoy the gorgeous views of her ruggedly sexy boss.

Jade is used to planning everything in her life, but Dell’s seductive, alluring ways have sparked an uncontrollable desire. And though Dell has never had time for love, Jade’s strength and sass is the kind of call no red-blooded male can resist…

I lurves me some Jill Shalvis. The woman just writes some killer romances. I wasn't totally on board with book one of the Animal Magnetism series though for some reason but thankfully carried on and picked up Animal Attraction and hot damn this was totally the Shalvis I know and adore. I loved nearly everything about this one as Jade's secretive past is uncovered and she and Dell find a little happiness together and help each other move on and break down each others walls.

The sassy/fiery relationship between Dell and Jade was excellent. The two work together--she's the receptionist at his veterinary clinic--and oh it was so fun watching them interact. A little attitude, a little sweet and totally sexy. And oh the steamy sexy bits...Growls! They're really rather nice. *nods* And kinda funny in spots which I love.
"Remember how when you were a kid and you knew something was a really bad idea, but you wanted to do it anyway, even when everyone from your nanny to your best friend told you it was stupid?"
--
"Aren't you going to ask me what stupid thing I wanted to do?" she whispered.

"Please, God," he breathed against her neck. "Say me."
Jade was a great heroine who's putting her life back together and I just enjoyed her. She's a total organizational freak--which, okay, I may relate to just a bit--and totally had me in her corner as she dealt with past trauma and her fears. And Dell. Sweet Mary. My vets...not this hot. *fans self* He's a bit damaged and keeps others at a distance because of abandonment issues. He's passionate about what he does and loves animals--seriously is there anything sexier? The two together had an excellent dynamic and I loved watching them help each other past their personal demons.

Animal Attraction had me in tears of laughter one minute and then in tears as my heart broke for these two and their struggles. It was a fabulous ride full of heart, steam and a hilariously charming cast of critters that surrounded Jade and Dell.
