Hi everyone, I'm Debbie Mason. I'm so excited to be here today to share with you a few of my favorite quotes from my new book CHRISTMAS IN JULY. They perfectly capture all the love and laughter you'll find in the charming town of Christmas, Colorado. Enjoy!   ~Debbie

Book Blurb:

Grace Flaherty had given up hope of ever seeing her husband again. After all, it'd been over a year since he went missing in combat. So when he strides through the door of her bakery in downtown Christmas one sunny afternoon, she can hardly believe her eyes. But her happily-ever-after is going to take some effort - because Jack has no memory of his family.

All Jack Flaherty remembers about Christmas is that he couldn't wait to leave town. Now he's a local hero with a wife and son he doesn't know. Even as he struggles to rekindle the romance with his wife, he knows in his heart what he wants: a second chance at love.

Quote 1

“Ah, my wife, the little prude.”

“I am not,” she said in an offended tone of voice.

“ No one knows that better than me.” Passion darkened her eyes as he slid his palm up her smooth thigh.

“You look like an ice princess, but in bed you act like her slutty stepsister.”

“Jack!” She tried to keep an annoyed look on her face then started to laugh.

His chest tightened, and he lowered his mouth to hers. “God, I love you.”

“ Oh, Jack, I’ve missed you so much.”

Her lips parted on a needy moan as he slid his hand under her nightie, touching and caressing her. He loved how responsive she was, the sexy sounds she made. “ You still seem a little nervous, Grace. I can take it slower if that’d help,” he teased, nuzzling the soft spot just below her ear.

She tugged his head to her breast. “Who’s Grace? I’m her slutty stepsister Ginger.”
Quote 2
Aw, shit,” Jack muttered at the sight of Mrs. Tate and Mrs. Wright. Just what he needed—more of his grandmother’s friends. They were like ants, the warm weather bringing them out of the woodwork.

“Aw, shit,” his son said with a grin.

Jack grimaced. “Shit.”

“Shit,” his son echoed.

Grace was going to kill him. “No, that’s a bad word, buddy. We can’t say the S-word.”

“’Kay. Me have beer?”
Quote 3
Realization dawned at Skye’s reaction. Jill actually thought Grace had lost it. She patted her sister-in-law’s back. “I’m okay, Jill. Honest. And I love you, too. Even though you have to admit you’ve been a . . . Well, you know.”

Jill drew back, looking from Grace to Skye, who’d broken into loud guffaws of laughter. Jill scowled, her cheeks stained pink, and fisted her hands on her hips. “So if you’re not having a breakdown, what in the hell were you doing?”

She’s back, Grace thought with a sigh. “ I—” She started to explain.

“You’re drunk.”

“Of course, I’m not drunk. I’d never drink and drive.” At Jill’s skeptical look, she said, “Okay, if you don’t believe me, watch this.” Grace proceeded to walk a straight line down the side of the road in her pink sundress. She wobbled a little in the white high heels, but otherwise she thought she’d proven her point. And to ensure that she did, she stuck out her arms and balanced on one foot, and that’s when she saw the black
Harley coming toward them, its rider looking all big and badass.

While Grace looked like a flamingo.
Quote 4
“Grace, seriously, baby. Be quiet before I turn you over my knee and spank you.”

“Jack!”

“Hey, don’t knock it till you try it, Grace,” Nell said as she headed for the door. “I just read a scene in my book where Christian Grey paddles that Anastasia gal’s behind. She seemed to like it just fine, let me tell you.”

Jack stared after her. “What the hell kind of book is she reading?”
Quote 5
“Jack,” Fred said, “think your wife might’ve gone a little crazy again.”

Jack rested the roller on the edge of the paint tray.”What do you mean?”

“Saw her driving down I-70 and that Skye gal had her head stuck out the window screaming.”

“Shut up,” Jack said to Sawyer, who started to laugh.

“That gal’s a bad influence, if you ask me. Gracie never got in trouble before she came to town. She’s always been a good girl,” Patrick Murray said. “You better sit your wife down and have a talk with her, Jackson.”

“I don’t know, Patrick. Jack always had a thing for bad girls. Maybe he’s the problem and not Skye,” Sawyer said.

 “Thanks, dickhead,” Jack muttered.
