Knitting for Charity!

Any Knitters out there?
[or people wanting to learn?!]
I'm joining in on this and thought I'd send it out to everyone in case yall might be interested too :)
It's okay if you're just learning to knit like me! Priscilla has some great video tutorial suggestions to help us out! So everyone's welcome :)

About the Event!

Young Adult author Jodi Meadows and Historical Romance Author Priscilla Shay have gotten together to host a Knitting for Charity event!

"I had a bunch of yarn lying around my house, and I thought, what can I do with them?
There are wonderful charities throughout the world that accept knitted or crocheted items (hats, blankets, scarves, gloves, sweaters, etc.) for a range of people and various causes." ~Priscilla Shay

Who will benefit?

Stitches from the Heart
a California based charity that collects knitted and crocheted items for premature babies.

The Deets:

Runs Oct 1, 2012- Feb 1, 2013
Knit/crochet 5x5" squares out of SOFT yarn.
Knit as many squares as you can :)
*If you can knit an entire blanket go for it!
All squares will then be sent to Jodi and Priscilla
who will sew them together into blankets to donate :)
  • Please use SOFT ACRYLIC (to not irritate the babies’ skin) – a few examples: Soft Caron, Bernat Softee Baby, Vanna White, Lion Brand Baby Soft
  • Color and stitch are up to you
  • Whoever sends in the MOST SQUARES will receive goodies and other items (books, a skein of yarn spun by Jodi, and such…)
  • Help spread the word by putting this badge in your sidebar, on your website, or you blog!
Please visit Priscilla's website to sign up, keep track of your progress and to enter the fab giveaway she's got going on for participants! Ends 10/31

    1. lol. Alicia, I so can't knit yet either! I'm going to try learning just for this. Hopefully with 3+ months to learn I'll get a hang of it :) There are some great videos out there that I've been told should get me on my way.
